"Aria! What the hell are you doing" I can't see but I know that hoarse voice anywhere and could ask the same question to matt. "Hush matt,i'm just exploring"

"Then i'll join you"

"NO, i'd rather be alone right now so please just go back to your room… well spend time together tomorrow" i finish kissing him on his soft plump lips. He sighs till finally conceding

"Okay ari, but your going to tell me exactly what's going on"

"I will, now go" the minute I see him turn I make a break for it and run down the steps then feel a warmth coming from the kitchen in the back. Though poorly lit I can make out the black granite countertop with black or gray wood cabinets. The fridge is to the right upon entering its huge. In the dark I see one of the servant doors open and the voice comes to my mind.

Tobias, that's his name an average height shadow emerges from the door. In the dim lighting I make out the man in front of me with fair pale skin unmarked, I see the bright emerald eyes and know he's the king. His eyes are so familiar to me somehow "reina?" he asks while approaching me "yes, it's me. Can I ask why I am here?"

"I want to apologize for earlier and explain that I'm not your enemy" pauses then continues "you see the court wants me to be a ruthless ruler and I must appease them… after all we are nothing without our people. Only the gods can help which is why you're here, i need your help your distraction enough for me to rule in peace"

"And what distraction am i again?"

"A beautiful goddess for the court to gain the favor of. Please stay… at least till summer's end"

"AND WHEN WILL SUMMER END EXACTLY! After the ancient wars summer can last from five months to FIVE YEARS" i explained my situation to him. I don't think I can trust his motive for that long, I don't even know him. "King… what is your name?"

His eyes went wide to my question then answered "oh,yes...it's.. herold, Reina '' he's lying it's Tobias ``why do you believe that lying to me will help me trust you? We both know that's not your name… how can i make an arrangement with a liar"

"Excuse me? What are speaking of i am not li-"

"You would dare attempt to lie again TOBIAS"

His eyes went wide again and fear struck him to go paler than he already was "how did you know?"

"Please do not mock me, as you say sooo much yourself i am Blood Reina take caution when addressing ME !, TAKE HEED FOR NOW YOU MAY RULE, BUT IF I SENSE POISON IN THE BLOOD I WILL TAKE WHAT'S MINE WITH THIS VOW YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED...KING" the voice said out of my body my mouth but not my words … the voice it took over me. I look at the damage it has done to the vessel . I see a trembling man less than the king before me stuttering an apology to the voice, not me ? Or are we really a we ? I catch myself staring at this terrified man and realize I should help. "It's okay Tobias breathe, calm down '' I tell him as he gazes at me with relief as if the man was a boy and the scary monster finally went away. Is the voice a monster? ``Tobias, can I ask you a question?"

"Yes,anything" he musters once calm and composed

"Who can help me discover more about.. well myself?" I ask and he thinks nic and hard about it

"Uhh...well the priest of festivals would be your best chance. And luckily he attends the palace in two weeks time"

"Thank you and one more thing"

"Anything Reina"

" i agree to help you but for a price" i add with a smirk

"Of course, name it"

"Food…" he looks at me so confused and so I continue "we're in a kitchen and not eating, this needs fixing" we both laugh at my statement Tobias then turns on a light for the kitchen counter then opens the fridge as I sit on the island countertop. He whips around with a chilled flat pan "HOW DID YOU KNOW" I ask him filled with surprise and excitement a smile on my face

"There is an entire book about blood Reina and her weakness to white chocolate covered strawberries and bananas" Tobias responds grinning and giggling with his deep voice while handing me a strawberry. We finished the night. Ingrossed in small talk and got to know each other. I feel I made another friend here. He flirts and I teased all in good fun then he walked me to my room and bid each other goodnight.
