True Form

"Is this ever going to end?" Link thought. He had been dodging the Creature for hours now, and nothing seems to be working. Every time Link thinks he was high enough for it not to reach, the worm seems to oppose that and still somehow increase its jump's height.

Level 8 Creatures are considered a disaster level danger. Link couldn't help but think of the Dragon that appeared above the Kingdom. He attacked it with everything he's got and could only injure it slightly. If it managed to enter their realm, Link was 100% sure that he would have died instantly. That was not something he could dream of facing.

Link was now above the clouds, the area around him started to darken slightly as some sort of pressure kept pressing on him, making him use more Mana.

"Is that thing a worm or a fucking rabbit?" Link frowned. This had been going for hours now, and the more potions he drank, the clearer their side effects would would get.

"Should I just give these eggs back? Maybe it'll stop chasing?" Link spoke. He was getting more and more exhausted by the minute, as he could no longer breath properly. The worm kept reaching him even with the incredible distance, which he couldn't understand.

[It won't stop chasing even if you throw its eggs back. Level 8 Creatures are prideful beasts. What you did was unforgivable and it will not let you go]

Link took a deep breath after hearing what Ora said. He started analyzing his situation, trying to think of another solution. He had been avoiding the mountains as much as he could, afraid that they might give the beast a boost. He tried maxing his Mana and Teleporting as far as he could, but the beast would always find him somehow.

"Screw this, I'm done!" Link yelled, stopping. "If i'm going to die anyways, i'm gonna make sure that fucking thing never sees it's eggs again"

Link dodged the creature once more, but he didn't start escaping again. He just teleported away and stood there looking at it as it started back. It's eyes showed nothing, as its blank stare never left its prey.

Blurgh!

For the first time in hours, the worm had some sort of reaction. It screeched and wiggled wildly in the air as it tried its best to get even a little bit closer to Link. It's stare became more intense, as it looked at the broken shells falling in the distance.

[Now it definitely won't let you go!]

The notifications appeared one after the other. Link had some type of liquid in his hands, green and slimy. He no longer held the eggs, as in the distance, some kind of broken pieces of shells could be seen still falling.

"Those numbers!" Link mumbled weakly from shock. He just managed to achieve 4 times the amount of Mana he had. Reaching Level 6 in the process.

"Destroying the eggs was a good idea!!" Link spoke with a grin. He looked inside his Inventory at the 2 corpses that sat there with excitement. He checked his Skills list next, finding out that the Charge, Lock and Mana Sense skills were already maxed. He laughed loudly before looking down.

EEAAKK!

The Void Worm was heading towards him with incredible speed as it kept screeching non-stop.

"Alright, let's test this out!" Link spoke, grabbing one of his daggers. "100 Million!"

WOSH!

The moment Link activated Heavy Strike. The air became heavier than a mountain. The space around him distorted and bent like it was water. Link looked at the creature heading towards him with unrelenting anger and moved his arm, calmly and gently swiping in its direction.

BOOM!

The clouds, ground, air and space couldn't resist. Like tofu, they were cut with frightening power.

The clouds that filled the air a moment ago were now gone, completely out of sight.

The air formed into a tornado, as it swept through the surroundings with godly anger.

The space was disturbed, creating ripples and waves, barely holding itself together.

The ground vanished. A dark line was created, leading to hell itself.

Nothing could be heard at that moment, but the creature's screams. Its mouth was cut, as obvious evidence of the attack could be seen. Its body was about to be cut in half, but stopped in the middle. It wiggled in the air weakly, as it looked at Link one last time before falling into the abyss underneath.

"Shit! I didn't get a kill notification!" Link realized, but he didn't chase after it, standing in the air as he looked down at the destruction. Blood fell like a river. His arm all the way up to his shoulder was no longer there. The skin on the right side of his body was gone, revealing the muscle tissue underneath.

"Lucky bitch!" Link said as he started healing himself. He had enough Mana left to recover completely.

"Status!" Link spoke, adding the 2 Status points he had into Agility.

"Thanks!" Link said. "It's too bad i lost the Dagger"

After recovering completely, Link continued his flight, leaving the area behind.

Little did he know, the state the site was in, will make rumors and stories to circulate around the Second Continent about a high Level fight occurring there. People would even start visiting and setting up a small village not too far from the then nicknamed 'Gate'.

Link took his time as he traveled back to Gilda City. He managed to absorb the Fragment on the tablet successfully with the help of Ora, adding another point to his Quest.

A City appeared in the distance, as Link passed right above it without stopping and heading towards the mountain. He activated all his stealth Skills just in case and landed near the opening.

"Here we go!" Link took a deep breath, breaking the wall inside the tunnel. He stepped into the familiar Cave and left it after a couple of minutes, a smile appeared on his face after seeing the familiar forest and trees.

"What is this?" Link muttered, feeling that something is odd. He walked inside the forest for a bit, and he discovered that, the longer he walked, the stronger the feeling.

<That's Mana Sense>

Zero explained, but Link was still confused. He had never felt this disturbing Mana before.

Back before receiving Mana Sense, Link could still sense Mana, but not as detailed and profound as now. He knew the difference between the average Mana and the obscure one. He figured out that the closer he got to the Academy, the more powerful it was.

"What the hell happened!" Link muttered. He hovered in the air and flew towards the Academy. He did not care if others saw him or not.

The closer he got, the more his expression distorted.

In the distance, Link could see smoke and destruction. He flew above the now unguarded gate and headed straight to the middle of the town. The buildings were torn apart as bodies were scattered everywhere.

"What the fuck!!" He spoke, seeing many familiar faces. There were shop owners, students, guards and familiars. Their bodies were already decomposing as they were either burnt, torn apart or smashed.

Link landed after a bit, he walked towards a certain corpse. His body stiffened and his eyes became black, with no space for anything else. A red vertical slit was in the middle, with the veins around his eyes and face turning dark.

His hair started changing color, becoming pure white. His teeth became similar to what a wolf might have, with long canine-like fangs. His ears became slightly longer with his nails sharpening and becoming like those of a beast.

His back started pulsating, as if something was attempting to break free, and that it did. The armor Link wore couldn't hold for another second as it broke, with his clothes tearing. Angel-like Wings spread all over the area, covering over 5 meters in height. The feathers had an ominous black color, with no light able to reflect on them.

Link fell on his knees, grabbing and holding the body, bringing it closer to him. Tears fell from his eyes, slowly and silently sliding down his cheeks. His wings moved, covering the two in a hug. Creating what looked like a cocoon.

"...Samuel…" A name was heard from inside, as a dark aura slowly spread around the area.
