The Law of The Beasts!

"Are you going to kill me?" Aguirre took a step back. His injuries were not completely healed and he knew he would not be able to run away.

"Do you not deserve to be killed? You people came after me because I won a spar" Link said, leaning on the cave wall as he looked at Aguirre.

He had his guard up and was not going to let him escape, he was going to kill him but he wanted to ask a few questions first.

"Kal is a noble and a second year. Do you have any idea how humiliating it was for one of us to lose, and that badly too. I only wanted to get revenge. Beat you up or something, but Lyrius is the one with the biggest pride and hatred towards non-nobles. He wanted to kill you, we just didn't care and followed" Aguirre realized that he couldn't do anything to Link, so he spoke truthfully. He knew he was going to die anyways.

"We're all people made from flesh and blood. Just because you were privileged enough to be born in a rich or powerful family, it doesn't give you the right to claim your family's achievements as yours. I mean look at you idiots" Link hinted at him "Even with all the money and resources that went into you. You were unable to beat a peasant from a poor village. Isn't it very clear already?" Link spoke with a smile. His hatred towards these kinds of people was immense. He wouldn't care even if the person in front of him was the son of the king himself. Link would not hesitate to slit his throat if he behaved like this.

Aguirre looked towards Link with anger, he spoke "Even if you were stronger, you're still the son of a poor peasant are you not? How far do you think you can go without money and influence? You end up doing the dirty work for us anyways" Aguirre continued "So tell me, You think after killing us here, our families would let it go? Upon learning of our deaths they will not stay silent. Second years knew what we wanted to do, it won't be long before people put two and two together."

"You think i did not realize that? Let them come.." Link's face changed. He no longer bore the playful smile and easy going Aura. A wave of suffocating energy drowned Aguirre. He supported himself by leaning on the wall, he even found it hard to breathe and speak. "I promise. If they do come for me, i'll send your family to keep you company in hell. Even if the kingdom turns against me, I'll destroy it. Even if the world would dare turn its back on me, I'll break it"

Aguirre was looking with fright, Link's eyes started to shine in a bright purple color. His face started to slowly fade from Aguirre's vision. He could no longer see a 14 year old boy standing there.

A creature without a face, shrouded in darkness. A long black hood covered its body with the purple eyes shining from within.

"What the hell are you?" Aguirre stuttered.

"Me?" Link's voice echoed "I am the Apex Predator!"

Wosh!

Aguirre's vision blurred, and slowly turned dark. His body slumped into the ground with a disturbing thud. Blood showered the area around it.

Link unsummoned his Dagger. And called the Wolf Cub to feed as he walked outside.

A head laid lifelessly on the ground. Its wide eyes and facial features were stuck, capturing its last moments. They were not of surprise or anger.. But fear.

*****

"It's getting late, how many students are still outside?" Tommy asked the Guard by the gate.

"6 students, sir" The guard continued "A First year and 5 Second years"

Tommy was confused for a second, then he thought of something and muttered "Those arrogant bastards. They better have not or i'm going to kill them myself"

Tommy turned and started walking towards the Forest. He was casting spells as he walked. Symbols and Mana particles were everywhere.

"A detection and tracking spells?" The Guard thought to himself.

Tommy was trying to find the group. He knew that he might be a bit too late but he still did not want anything to happen to Link. The headmaster and himself were keeping an eye on him, and he did not disappoint. Letting such a genius die just like that was out of the question.

Tommy knew that Link was strong, but against 5 Second years, and especially the frighteningly powerful Lyrius, he knew that he wouldn't be able to win.

As he walked in the forest for a bit, he suddenly spoke "What is that?" Tommy muttered, detecting a life force heading his way. It was of a single person, walking casually as if he was on a picnic.

"Link?" Tommy spoke, going towards him. "Are you ok?" He asked, checking him over.

"Yes professor, I'm fine" Link answered with a smile.

They started walking towards the Town as Tommy asked Link about the other 5 Students. He got an answer he did not expect.

"I don't know, I have not seen them" Link said, maintaining his calm demeanor.

"What? Did they fail to find him or run into something?" Tommy thought to himself "No way. With Lyrius in their midst they would not have a problem taking down a Level 3 Monster, what happened?"

After he made sure Link was safe and fine, Tommy headed back outside. Following the group's tracks.

As he walked, he figured out that they were tailing something or someone.

"So they found him and started stealthy tracking him" Tommy muttered to himself. He kept walking and managed to put things together.

"What happened? Their tracks end here. They entered this cave and never walked out" Tommy was getting nervous. He could see Link's tracks as well. What Tommy was detecting were not footsteps, but the Mana left naturally by the body. He was using a spell called 'High Vision' To see and follow it.

"Link went inside and snuck out, then they walked in. Did he trick them?" Tommy kept investigating "No. He walked back in after they went inside"

The tracks showed Link slowly following them from behind as they kept sneaking inside. That's when he found the area where Aguirre was killed.

The body and head were gone. Eaten completely by the Pet Beast Soul, but traces of blood were still around.

"What is this" Tommy started looking over the Mana particles and moved his hand, casting an odd looking spell. It created a bright light, showering the area.

"What the hell!" Tommy spoke out loud as he managed to figure out what happened. "Lyrius attacked his friend? Why? Did they disagree on something?" Tommy kept casting the spell as he looked around trying to find the smallest detail.

"What the hell is this Mana?" Tommy found an odd Mana that did not seem to belong to any of the 6 Students. It was dark and malicious, something he had never seen before.

He kept walking inside. Stumbling on the giant hall.

"They fought here" Tommy concluded, seeing the place in ruins. "Link managed to stealthy take them out, and fought Lyrius by himself in the end." Tommy was one of the best at this sort of work. He managed to figure out what happened, and was impressed by Link's actions and strategic choices.

Tommy looked around the place, seeing no bodies at all. After finding nothing more, he left. Failing to see the wall Link found.

Before Link left, he covered the wall with earth magic. He did not want others to find out about it. And he was successful.

Tommy did not think about the events for too long. He knew what the other 5 wanted to do and why. He saw what Link had done was nothing more than self defense. He would not be punished for it. Not like he would have been even if he did it on purpose.

The Academy has a hidden saying. 'May the strongest prosper'

It was something all the staff knew of. Which is why they would protect all the students inside the Town and Academy grounds, but if anything happened outside, then they would look the other way.

That's where the law of the beasts are at work.
