"It's ok Link, you don't have to be embarrassed"

"Yeah, it happens to all of us"

"Can you people shut up?" Link yelled, turning to look at Chloe "You, what the hell was that?" He pointed at her.

Chloe spoke with a cold voice "I don't like you because you're stronger than me" She continued "But you should pay more attention to your opponent" A smile appeared on her face.

Link sighed, he was more annoyed about the misunderstanding than whatever trick she was doing. He looked down, seeing his feet wrapped by the ground, it was like snakes made of stone were hugging his feet as he was slowly sinking in.

"Well, i guess you're going to hate me more then" Link said, looking at her.

Chloe frowned, she muttered something and the snakes turned black, their tight grip became stronger, making Link's descent quicker.

"Let's see what you can do" Chloe muttered, glaring at Link with cold eyes.

"What's with all the hostility? Didn't she talk to me just fine in the Library?" Link thought to himself. He lifted his arm, and punched the ground.

Boom!

Dust and stone chunks flew everywhere, clearing everything underneath his feet.

Chloe stood there shocked. Her spell not only turns the ground into quicksand like substance, but reinforces it as well, making it hard to break by turning it liquidy.

"How did you do that?" She asked.

"You used this on Fei, you really think i did not look the Spell up?" Link continued "All i needed to do was to send my Mana through the ground and it will automatically interfere with your Spell structure, breaking it. And you wonder why I'm stronger than you?" Link shook his head, Grabbing his knife firmly.

Chloe's look turned cold, her whole demeanor changed. Black smoke appeared around her fists as she started running towards Link.

"I don't know what's your problem with me" Link said as he dodged her punches "But, you need to stop letting anger take over." He said blocking 3 more attacks "You had 4 openings that i could have used to end this, but i didn't"

"Why?" She said, throwing a roundhouse kick.

Link dodged, and countered one of her punches, sending her stumbling back.

"Because he likes you"

"Yeah, accept him"

"Date" "Date" "Date" the crowd started cheering.

"SHUT UP" Link yelled back at them.

"Whatever. if you want, can we meet in the Library after this?" Link asked.

"See, i told you guys"

"He did confess didn't he"

"What's with his attitude then? We're just trying to help"

Link took a deep breath to calm himself down, then looked at Chloe "I need your help with that book, you seem to know a lot about it"

Chloe seemed to understand what book Link was talking about, she thought for a bit and answered "Ok"

"Congratulations Link"

"You did it buddy"

"Nice"

"I f*cking hate this place" Link muttered to himself. He stepped forward, dodging a left hook and slashing at Chloe's neck, ending the fight.

"Link is the winner" Bai announced.

The next fights were easy, Link's final fight was against Janet, she used a sword and was quick on her feet, but Link had no problem ending it within seconds, he wanted to just take the Core and get all the information Chloe knows about The Story of Genes.

"Congratulations Link, here's your reward" Bai patted Link's shoulder as he handed him the Core.

Class ended, Link walked to the Library.

As he entered he found her there waiting for him, she wore jeans, black shirt and a cute jacket, she was as pretty as ever.

Link walked over, greeting her.

"Hey, you got here fast" Link said.

"Yeah" She answered.

"So what can you tell me about The Story of Genes?" Link asked, he sat next to her placing the book on the table.

"If you want me to tell you what i know i want something in return as well" She spoke, looking straight at him.

"Yeah sure, that's fair" Link responded.

"I'll tell you what I want after, let's get this over with first" Chloe said, opening the book. "My mother is an Adventurer, she always told me stories and tales since i was a kid, and one of the stories was about the Ancient God Techniques."

"Ancient God Techniques?" Link asked.

"Yeah, i remember what she told me at the time very clearly. The Gods took pity on us after seeing all the races perish to the beasts and all the creatures, becoming their meals." Chloe touched the book.

"That's when Beast Souls came to existence, right?" Link asked.

"Yes, that is correct. That was the Gift of the Goddess of Magic." She continued "But she was not the only one to give us something.

The God of Death, The God of Medicine, The Goddess of Fortune, The God of Time, The God of Sleep, The Goddess of the Sea, The Goddess of Immortality and The God of War.

Out of the 12 Gods, 9 created their own blessings, bestowing them to the people. As time passed and reliance on Magic grew. The Goddess of Magic became the one and only Goddess to be worshiped by all, while the others were slowly forgotten.

As punishment, each God took back what they gave us, making their Techniques unreadable, their food inedible and their accessories unwearable."

Link couldn't fathom all the information she just dropped on him, he thought for a bit and asked "Back then, when we spoke here. You tried to get me to give up on the book because it's impossible to discover what technique it was?"

"Yes" She said.

"You're actually a nice girl" Link smiled at her.

Chloe kept her poker face on, but her cheeks started to turn red.

"Whatever, let me continue" Chloe looked away.

"Please do"

"The Story of Genes is a technique created by the God of War, he is a God with immense strength and power, he has other names as well.

The God of Destruction and The God of Chaos, there was a tale of him destroying worlds for petty reasons, but that is irrelevant" She continued "The legends say that since he only used raw physical strength to better his opponents, his technique would perfect the user's Genes, the more it was practiced the closer the user gets to the perfect God Body."

Link was shocked, he could confirm her story from the technique's description, he could not believe that he learned a Legendary skill by accident, and one found randomly inside a library at that.

"That's all I know" She said, pushing the book closer to Link. "Now it's my turn"

"Yeah, what do you want to know?" Link asked.

"Tell me how did you manage to learn The Story of Genes?" Chloe said, looking straight at him.
