As Leo looked around at the chaos with people screaming and crying, he got slightly worried.
[Don't worry, this is normal. Their minds are attempting to comprehend what I am, once they push themselves to the max the brain will give up and make way for a simplified idea of what I am.]
"Then why didn't this happen to me?" asked Leo.
[Because there was a hole in your brain and you fucking died, are you dumb?] responded Sogrith.
Leo scratched the back of his head upon realising how dumb his question was.
Leo walked away from the center of the village to the inn he was originally staying in, the screaming was getting too loud for him.
When he entered the inn he traced his way back to the room he was originally in and sat down on the bed.
The bottle of pills was still there and Leo once again blamed his own stupidity for not bringing it with him.
"I really should start planning better or I won't live long." thought Leo as he took a pill.
Leo already had noticed that the pain mostly had passed already.
[Due to your efforts recently I've gone ahead and mostly healed your wound, your pain and agony have fed me enough, not to mention you netted me an entire village. From now on when you get injured I will heal you a bit, but not entirely. You will suffer in pain and agony until you get me enough negative emotions to heal the rest of your wounds, plus a little extra for my efforts.]
Sogrith's words echoed in Leo's head in a sadistic tone as Leo thought about his words.
"Fine, just try not to let me die." said Leo to himself.
Leo laid down in bed to rest a bit.
However, the moment he closed his eyes he found himself in the same room where he originally met Sogrith.
"Why am I here again?" thought Leo as he looked around the room.
This time, there was a simple board game and two chairs.
Leo was surprised to see Lynn sitting on one of the chairs and his anger instantly boiled over.
However, in the next second, it disappeared and Leo calmed down.
"Sogrith?" Leo called out.
Sogrith responded: "Yep, that's me. Sorry for using this body but for what I will show you next I will need a humanoid form, take a seat."
Leo listened to Sogrith and took a seat.
Sogrith continued speaking.
"Let's play a game, Leo. In front of you is the game of LIFE. more specifically your LIFE."
Leo was confused upon hearing this, but he didn't say anything so Sogrith could continue speaking.
"Right now, you finished the tutorial of your life, and you are now starting the real game."
Sogrith moved the game piece that looked like Leo further on the board.
At the top of the board was a throne, and there were numerous symbols that Leo did not recognize.
Leo was slightly frightened upon hearing that he only finished the tutorial, he has already almost died multiple times.
Sogrith smiled and continued speaking.
"Once you reach the top, you will conquer the world, allowing me to feed on everyone's emotions.
When you do this I should be able to reach the mortal realm within months.
Leo didn't respond as he asked Sogrith his next question.
"How will I be able to conquer the world in my current form?"
Sogrith smiled and responded: "You won't, along the way you will find many allies and foes, and I will be there to help you. I told you before, the more I feed the more abilities I am able to bestow upon you, I invest in you and you return the investment in emotions, allowing me to perform this endless cycle."
"So, what am I supposed to do next?" Leo asked.
"Leave the village and continue onwards with your journey, interesting things will happen sooner or later." Sogrith responded.
"So quickly already?" asked Leo.
"Yes, reinforcements of the foundation will arrive soon in order to secure the village."
Leo was slightly annoyed upon hearing that the foundation would be coming, but he already knew that would happen.
"One last thing, I will be bestowing one evolution upon you for now in reward for the subjugation of the village. Please state your request for now and I will attempt to make it possible." said Sogrith to Leo as he was about to leave.
Leo was glad that Sogrith hadn't forgotten about his reward as he started thinking.
"Are there any limits to what I can request?" asked Leo
"Ofcourse there are, I can't make you immortal as a example, that asks too much of my power."
After many failed ideas being proposed to Sogrith by Leo, they finally came to one that Sogrith was able to do.
"I want full immunity from acid, and I want my blood to be one of the most corrosive forms of acid possible."
Sogrith sighed for a second before responding.
"I can make most of your request true, except for the strongest form of acid. What I can do though is amplify the power of the acid with the emotions you experience. For example, if you are in a life or death situation and you are scared, angry and determined at the same time, the acid would be strong."
Leo was disappointed upon hearing this, but he accepted it.
"It is almost time to wake up Leo, you will have to depart the moment you wake up." Sogrith said.
Leo closed his eyes in the void as everything started shattering.
