To The Lich's Lair

I was stunned speechless for a moment as I took in my new status. 'That Player definitely left out a lot of information on the rewards of the quest.' I thought, the person who got this quest line in my last life shot to top rank as soon as it was completed completely out of nowhere and now I understood why that happened. 'The opportunity to change race, even if it is just to a normal Dragon, is enough to cause everyone to go to war for. Though I am positive that the other guy didn't have Origin Energy or I would know of its existence.' I thought quickly as I remembered the information I had gathered in my previous life.

Shaking my head slightly, I turned to Alvarus and thanked him for the opportunity. He waved it off and replied, "It was my pleasure to help you find the use of this Artifact. Besides, I had no use for it anyway."

"Then I will not be resistant any longer, this object changed my very being and greatly increased my power. There is no way for me to ever repay you, and before you say that isn't necessary, I insist on doing something in return." Alvarus shut his mouth quickly and glared at me for a few seconds before grinning.

"What you can do for me is to make sure the Princess is healed and grow your strength and power with these new gifts to rise to the top." He smirked smugly at me and I chuckled, he got me on that one.

"Very well, we shall take our leave now then."

"Ah yes you will require this map and here, one more gift for the both of you." Alvarus handed me the regional map we came for as well as a few books and two magic rings.

[Storage Ring]

[Grade: Rare]

[Rank: A]

[Effect: Uses Spatial Magic to hold your items and gear. Can hold up to 3,000 cubic foot dimension.]

The books were just books about monsters we might encounter and other important information on the Lich's Domain that covered Xero's territory. All the land that he ruled was completely dead and gave off Death Energy and Soul Energy. Both were extremely rare and hard to understand. Normally it requires experiencing death for yourself to begin to understand. Undead beings were basically broken souls that are held together by Death and Soul Energy.

"Oh look at this Leo. There's a couple spell books too, you can use these to get some spells and increase your capabilities." I gave one ring to Leonidas along with the two spell books that were given with the lore books which I kept. Leonidas took the items and nodded silently, I could tell he was contemplating which spells in the books to learn first. Spell Books in Paragon weren't just one time use items,, they had a certain number of spells based on their rarity and rank. You could use a Spell Book until you learned all the spells but you had to meet the requirements for the spell first. Most spells had normal requirements like a certain amount of Will and/ or Intelligence.

Since we were done in the Tower, we decided to head towards the western gates of the city to find Jarex and the group of soldiers that would help us in our quest. As we walked through the city, enjoying the sights, Leonidas spoke up for the first time.

"So, Enigma, what the fuck was that? I didn't know it was possible to be made a Noble so easily, wasn't this supposed to be a really difficult country to gain citizenship in? But we just logged on a few hours ago and we are already citizens and you're even a Noble on the same level as the ruler? I'm having a hard time processing all of this..." He trailed off and sighed. I smiled and looked around to make sure no one else was nearby to hear.

"This...*sigh...* This is a difficult topic at the moment. I want to tell you what is really going on, but I can't yet. I promise, brother, I'll tell you when we log out." I lowered my voice and got closer to Leo as I spoke. Making sure he knew this was seriously top secret. He nodded and pointed behind me.

"It's probably a good thing look." I turned and saw a woman approaching and immediately remembered that my Assistant was coming to meet with me in game. I looked her up and down and saw that she had been doing just fine for herself, the slave mark that appeared on everyone in this Empire was dim and not active which meant that she got her citizenship on her own. I nodded and Leo and I stopped walking to wait for her. She walked right up to me and looked me up and down to asses.

"Enigma, huh? Well it is a pleasure to meet you, Young Master. Your father sent me to assist you in your endeavors." Camille bowed as she spoke and I smiled as she rose.

"It is a pleasure to meet you, Camille. How is the reaction to my forum post going over?"

"Well, actually. Using the Zeras Group name really got a lot of strong Pro Players talking and many speculate about the rise of this Guild. About 500 players have applied and 3 of them are players of note. The 'Empress of Fire', 'War God Seshiro', and 'Ice Sovereign' have all submitted applications and all have pristine records and sufficient strength to act as a good foundation for the guild." I nodded as she reported in and we continued our walk.

"Good, I trust your judgement since my father trusts you as well. I will let you handle the task of contacting these three. Also, we will need a building to house the Guild members and all of their families IRL (In Real Life)." She nodded and bowed again.

"It will be done, Young Master. Worry not, the necessary arrangements will be made." Saying that she logged off and disappeared. I turned back and nodded to Leo as we came to the western gate, exiting the city. Outside, Jarex was standing with a small group of soldiers to the side with horses enough for the whole group. I moved over and mounted my horse.

"Let's move out, the quicker we finish our quest, the sooner the Princess is back to full health." With that we all headed out into the Western Dead Lands. The only lands in this world not controlled by Dragons.
