The Tower of The Tome

We walked through the busy city streets catching some shocked looks from the crowds. People were whispering about the newly risen Dragon Overlord and how he looked so young and nothing like a Dragon. I kept a calm face as I strode towards the ever looming massive tower that covered the entire western sector of the city. I could feel the waves of magic the tower was releasing.

"Oh? I got Mana Sense." Leonidas replied and I shrugged.

"Must be different for every individual." We continued on and eventually made it to the base of the tower where a door was already opened with a Goblin Butler standing to the side.

"Ah, the young Overlord and his friend. The Master has been expecting you." The old Goblin gentleman said with a small bow and gesture to enter.

"Ah so the Master wishes to see us?" The Goblin nodded and smiled gently. "Oh very much so, My Lord, not many Overlords exist and never one so you as yourself. He is most intrigued and wishes to give you both a gift and opportunity. There are absolutely no strings, this is to satisfy his curiosity, that's all. Whatever you can gain, you can keep."

"Very well, I accept then." I gave a nod and we followed the Goblin into the Tower. The energy I was feeling was getting stronger and stronger as we ascended up the tower stairs, all the way to the top floor. The energy was so strong outside the door and my mind was pulled into a vision of all the energies in the universe combined into one and forming into a silver grey colored infinity. 'Whoa.....'

"Holy..." I muttered when the energy suddenly disappeared and the door opened to reveal a tall Elven man with Green Draconic characteristics.

"AH! At last, you're here young Lord! I am the Tower Master, Alvarus." The man bowed slightly and raised a hand in invitation as he turned towards the desk in the center of the room and sat behind it. "I was also told that you are a Paragon on our side. I know that not all Paragons will be like you, but they do not condemn the good ones that are like you."

"Yes indeed," I nodded, "Most of my kind see this world as a mere game and they are disrespectful and despicable." Alvarus nodded and continued.

"Well I have something I want you to look at. I haven't been able to figure anything out with it but as a Paragon perhaps you can glean something from it." As he spoke Alvarus took out a silver grey colored orb shaped gemstone. My eyes widened as Origin Energy flooded the room. Alvarus saw my reaction and quickly handed the orb to me. As soon as I touched it, a system window with information popped up.

'An accessory...' I was in awe. Not only was it an accessory, it was also a SSS Rank Growth item. I drop my blood on the orb and it glows for a moment before rising to levitate in front of me.

'Hello, Successor.' An ancient voice that sounded like one but many entered my mind. 'Ancestors.' I bowed slightly to the orb which got some eyebrows raised. 'Ah good, you know proper respect for your ancestors and how to present your well placed pride and arrogance. You are indeed young and strong. You are the one we have been waiting for. You are destined to rise to the top of this universe. So walk tall and walk strong. For you are Enigma Origin from this moment on. Touch the orb and concentrate your mind. There are some things we can grant you right now due to your recent race change.' I looked to the others and finally spoke after a few seconds.

"I don't know what's about to happen but I did indeed gain something that I can never pay back." Alvarus shook his head and smiled, "All I wished was to find out what the orb is, you can tell me if you want to, I will not force you." I nodded and grabbed the orb with my hand, focusing all my senses on the orb. As soon as I reached in with my mind, a warmth spread throughout my body. It was comfortable and system messages were popping up.
