The attack of two parties

No sooner were the gates closed than the windows were shattered and several black hooded people stood on the window ledges, targeting Mortis. They carried arrows and other weapons. Suddenly Count Gera stood up and yelled into the room, "I don't know who you are, but I will avenge my brothers that you killed, you oh-so-great hero!" Count Gera drew his weapon and his escort, as well as some servants and barons joined him. "Haha, you have taken my brothers from me. I'll take your women in return and make you suffer slowly, and no one will be able to help you." The king did not know how to react. Normally, it was strictly forbidden to wage war against each other. Besides, if the Count of Gera was attacked, it could lead to a big problem for the kingdom, since his family was very old and deep-rooted.

Mortis did not hesitate for long and bought in the store the ability to summon another companion. So he summoned the Minotaur, whom he called "Mino" for short, to register him as a companion. After that, he summoned Marshal and Sarah as well, the three of them to protect his wives from any danger. When the nobles saw the spirits, they became nervous. Mino and Marshal looked threatening, while Sarah seemed less intimidating. The first enemy servant to be attacked by the spirits ended up as a kebab, causing the opponents to change their minds.

One of the hooded figures on the window ledge stepped forward and shouted loudly, "It seems you have many enemies, Reaper, but it will be us who will defeat you and take your scythe to the great Gillas." Meanwhile, Count von Gera ran toward Mortis' women to kill them, while the hooded figures drew their bows and fired at Mortis.

The system triggered an alarm: "Emergency. Disturbance in body and mind, unknown changes. Disturbance, disturbance." After a few seconds, Mortis heard nothing and felt only anger rising within him. His silver eyes were now glowing red like fire, but one part remained silver, so it looked like silver and red were dancing together in his eyes, trying to catch each other. Mortis suddenly disappeared and in his place only his reflection remained. Before anyone realized that the one being shot at was not the real Mortis, he snapped Count von Gera's neck. The screams were loud, but Mortis did not care. He only wanted to see the blood of his enemies who were threatening his women. When some servants and barons turned to attack, they were immediately cut down by Mortis. He killed each of his enemies faster and faster and more efficiently with his bare hands, without even using a weapon.

When Mortis had finished off most of the dangers of his women and they threw their weapons on the ground and surrendered, he looked to the large windows and looked at the hooded figures as if they were already dead. "Keep firing, this bastard is just playing hard to get. Fire and take him down! We will not fail Sir Gillas and if we should die, he will resurrect us!" the leader of the hooded figures roared desperately. But Mortis created a clone and using wind armor, jumped onto a window sill and broke the bones of the first one he could grab or threw him to the ground with force. The clone did the exact same thing on the other side, causing the hooded people to slowly panic. But the leader would not admit defeat, drawing a dagger and running at Mortis. Mortis knocked the dagger out of the assassin's hand, grabbed him by the neck, lifted him up and said, "No one will revive you if I am your opponent, for your souls are already mine." Then he put his hand to the leader's chest and he shrieked in pain. Then Mortis was seen grabbing something slightly blurry and pulling it backwards. He truly tore the assassin's soul out of his body. The body of the assassin he threw away, as if it were simply garbage. The soul that stared in shock at Mortis slowly dissolved until there was only one bullet left, and it was swallowed by Mortis' sea of souls.

Everyone in the hall froze in fear, whether opponents, neutrals or friends of Mortis. But the young hero did not care about anything. He could show no mercy against those who were after him and, above all, his wife's life. The assassins tried to flee, but their chance of escape was nil, for Mortis could now have sensed their souls from miles away. So he and Sarah set off in pursuit of the cowardly assassins, while Mino continued to protect the women with his body. Marshal, on the other hand, killed anyone who stood against his master, whether they surrendered or not.

After a little over a minute, Mortis returned from his hunt, went to the Count of Gera's table, jumped on it and looked for a survivor. Behind a curtain in a corner he found a young man, who even wet himself when Mortis tore the curtain away. He grabbed the boy by the shirt, threw him on a table, and raised his fist to ask, "Who all is behind this plan, and which families are against me? Talk, or you won't survive the next few seconds."

"I am the fourth son of the Count of Gera. I should just... I don't know who all is involved, but I think it will be mostly the nobles we are branched with as the main family. The secondary family doesn't care so much about our concerns," the young man said anxiously.

"I don't care who you are," Mortis said. "And I have said that whoever dares to attack or threaten my women, I will wipe out along with his clan. It won't be fair to many, but you have to get to the root of the evil, and where there are no kin, there is no revenge."

He placed his hand on the young man's chest and added energy to it. Suddenly silver threads shot out of the young man and connected with some servants, barons and other nobles in the castle. But the threads continued and did not stop in the castle. Most of them flew towards Gera to connect with all the souls related to the young man.

Lumina broke away from Mino and ran towards Mortis while shouting, "Don't do it! It will affect many innocent people and children, don't do this!" When she got to Mortis, she jumped on him and rammed him into the wall. She had tears in her eyes and hugged him. "We're fine, they'll remember that, and if not, we're strong enough. But stop it, sweetheart, it's not you." She went up on tiptoe and gave him a kiss. Mortis' eyes widened, and his eyes lost the red, his eyes had the familiar silver again.

Mortis collapsed in Lumina's arms and lost consciousness. But this did not mean that his companions disappeared, on the contrary, they positioned themselves in such a way that no one would be able to get to their master. The king and the dukes arrested everyone who was even slightly suspicious and collected the bodies to find out who the assassins were and where they might have come from, as well as anyone who had attempted to assassinate Mortis and his wives.

The boring king, who otherwise did not have much to do, since everything was actually going well, had to realize today, due to the many losses, that he actually knew nothing about his people and was only sitting on a high throne like a figurehead. This annoyed the king, because in the past he knew almost every nobleman by name, including their children, but since he grew older, he withdrew to his golden castle and only left the work to others. That is why he decided to travel more often with his children, so that he could refresh his memories and his children and grandchildren could know which country they had to protect.

Mortis was taken to a room to recover, leaving Leonie and Maria with him. Lumina went to the interrogation to give each of them a truth potion so that each would sing like a bird. The dukes wondered where Lumina got all the potions, but they dared not ask. The sight of someone's soul being torn from their body filled everyone with fear, and they all swore at that moment never to go against Count Mortis of Bamberg or threaten his wives. Count Sven, however, was curious by nature and asked Lumina why she had stopped Mortis when silver threads were seen shooting from the young man. Lumina explained that if Mortis had continued, he would not only have killed the young man, but would have wiped out the entire clan in one fell swoop. Many in that kingdom would have had to see people's souls torn from their bodies. The Duke was shocked and asked if such an ability could even exist. Lumina replied that there was no such thing, but it could happen if you messed with a demigod with heroic potential. But this must remain between us, otherwise I will send my treasure to your castle, understand? The duke nodded silently.

Far away in a corner of the universe, a tall, muscular and handsome man with blond hair and beard sat looking at a crystal with a grin. He said, "It seems you have returned to action, my son. You have not been in a frenzy for a long time. I hope this world is more to your liking, but it seems you're having your fun."
