Re:Zero, Power Driven Madness (Finished)

A guy dies and is reincarnated into re zero. Simple enough right? But what if he wasn’t crazy and instead was a normal human being who wanted to avoid dying? What if he wanted at least some form of power to avoid being chained by a certain crazy witch and her army of obsessed simps!!! ——————- I do not own Re:Zero, all works and achievements go towards Tappei Nagatsuki

Getting sold off

...

Walking towards the building, I see Wilhem and Felix standing in front of a carriage. It seems Crusch has decided to make a visit for Emilia. This would explain how the contract was formed for the healing of Suburu's gate.

But why would she visit? Emilia holds nothing of value towards her goals. Did she perhaps come to talk with Roswaal?

She could very well use Roswaal to help out with her plan. His magic abilities would definitely make the battle with the white whale easier. But that's only if she finds it.

Seeing my approach, Wilhelm just throws me a glance and nods. Felix on the other hand just smiles and waves.

Seeing this, I just raise my hand to acknowledge their greetings before heading inside. When in, I notice Crusch fading Roswaal who is smiling calmly at her.

"So, you will stay out of this goal?" Crusch says as she looks up at Roswaal. "You would not use this chance to find the white whale and slay it for your ladies goals?"

"Indeed~ I won't." Roswaal says to her as he looks up noticing me. "I don't~ have any time~ to waste on a pointless chase."

"And hello~ Suburu. It's good to see~ you back on time."

Crusch hearing him stops speaking of the subject and turns to take a look at me.

"Who exactly is this?" Crusch says while scanning me up and down with her gaze. "I haven't heard of this man before."

"Why~ that is Natsuki Suburu~. He's only~ just recently started to work under~ me." He says with a smile. "But~ he has proven to be pretty~ valuable in that short amount of time~."

"I can tell your not lying." Crusch says to him while gazing into my eyes. "But I'll only judge him when he shows me something good."

Hearing them talk about me I can't help but be a little irked. It's like being treated like a zoo animal. 'Oh what does this animal do mommy?'

"I can be pretty useful." I say with suddenly with a smile. "I even know some things that you'd find yourself extremely interested in."

Hearing my statement, Crusch just calmly raises an eyebrow. "Interesting? How so?"

"What could you possibly say that is valuable to me?"

Hearing her questions, My smile widens and I then speak in an extremely cheerful manner. "Like how you need directions to the White Whale, and how I know them."

She then narrows her eyes in seriousness. Before then scrunching her eyebrows together in confusion. "You didn't lie, but that's also suspicious. And I've never met you before, how could you possibly have known?"

I then look towards Roswaal and smirk when I notice the interest present in his gaze. "If you want to speak on this subject, we would have to speak in private. Maybe you could invite me over in 2 days time."

"Why 2 days?" Crusch questions me with a sharp gaze. "Why not right now?"

And to her question and attempt of intimidation, I just chuckle. "I have information which could tilt the standing between candidates massively in your favor."

"Why would I not want to take advantage of that?"

Crusch then goes silent in thought. She then nods her head towards me before looking towards Roswaal. "He is indeed a very interesting person. Could you perhaps give him over to me for the time being?"

Roswaal then smirks slyly while looking at me. I also give him a sly smirk and nod. It seems we are both on the same page.

"Well I don't see how~ in anyway I could possibly~ lose out in this ordeal." Roswaal says to her.

But his mood suddenly changed before looking at me with full seriousness.

"Any of his words will also count as my own. That means any negotiations set by him count as my own."

To this I just nod in understanding toward Roswaal. He's telling me to do anything I can to milk the best opportunities out of this situation. However, it's also a warning that failure is not an option.

Crusch then shows a smile before she turns towards me. "Well, I guess you'll be coming with me Natsuki Suburu."

"Indeed, I suppose I am lady Crusch." I say to her before turning towards Roswaal. "Please allow Rem to come with me, she will be an immense help to me."

"Why~ yes, I'll call her~ down right away. But are you~ alright with this lady~ Crusch?"

Crusch visibly thinks for a bit before shaking her head slowly. "I don't mind at all. She could perhaps be of help to me also."

I then stood silently by Crusch as Roswaal called Ram who was silently standing to the side over. She looked over at me with slight praise present in her eyes.

"Ram~, go and get your~ sister would you?"

"I will do as you say my lord."

...

Sitting down in front the carriage , I look around and notice the silence of the city. It's a stark difference as compared to the lively crowds you see throughout the day.

"Hai Suburu-kyun ." Felix suddenly says he put his arm around my shoulder and smiles. "I heard you where coming with us for nhow."

Feeling a familiar sense of discomfort, I calmly took his arm off my shoulder. "Yes, but it's only for a short while. Your lady just has some things that she needs from me."

Felix hearing this jumps on my back with a 'nhya'. "Well I right about seeing you again, wasn't I?"

Feeling him on my back I feel my ears visibly heat up. I then lean forward trying to get him off me but he just slides further on top of me.

"You're nhyo good Suburu-kyun." Felix says to me as he breathes into my ear before pulling away. "You can always ask you knyow?"

After his touch left my body, I felt my normal emotional state come over me before calmly gazing into the quiet and dark city yet again.

Me and Felix then made some small talk every now and then. I tried to ask him about how restoration magic worked, but he just said it was an issue of affinity. You either could or you just simply couldn't.

I of course asked him to check me. And he just shook his head at me. That kind of sucked since I really wanted a chance at restoration magic. It would have made my physical training much more easier and effective while also being a lot less time consuming.

Soon after about a good 10 minutes, we managed to reach Crusch's mansion. As it was late, Crusch just told Wilhelm to bring me to my room for rest.

Wilhelm just nodded in his usual calm manner before asking me to come with him. But when we arrived before my rooms door he stopped me from entering.

"Natsuki Suburu." He said while seriously gazing at me. "Do you know what my family name means?"

"Of course I know of the Astrea's family name. It is the family that the sword saints hail from."

Hearing me he closes his eyes and solemnly nods. "Then you should know of the last sword saint, correct?"

I then just nod at his words. "Theresa Van Astrea, the past sword saint."

Wilhelm then exhales deeply as his shoulders tighten visibly. He then opens his eyes with drive fully present Inside them. "Then you should also know that she was my wife. And that she also lost her life to that accursed beast."

"Indeed I do, that is one of the reasons I knew Crusch wanted the White Whale dead. She probably promised you revenge at the cost of your servitude."

Wilhelm then looks at me for a little while before smiling towards me, and it's a smile of relief. "You are indeed Impressive Natsuki Suburu, you could indeed be a man I could one day respect. But that will very well depend on the information and actions you provide to my lady and I."

Hearing his words, I just give him a sly smirk. "Then that just gives me more reason to help out now doesn't it?"

He then gives out a slight chuckle which gave me a shock. This man never chuckles, let alone laugh!

"I guess it does indeed, doesn't it?"

We then gaze into each other's eyes before reaching out our hands and giving each other a shake.

"Good night Wilhelm Astrea, it will be a pleasure working with you."

"Good night Natsuki Suburu, I hope you can help fulfill my life long dream."
