Chapter Nine: The Hunt

The next day at school, Evelyn instructs the driver towards Jayden's house to go pick him up so they could be seen driving in to school together. Arriving at Jayden's house, Evelyn sees him coming out of the gate of his house with a bicycle to paddle to school.

"Hey, enter inside the car so we can go to school" Evelyn says to Jayden.

"What about my bike?" Jayden askes Evelyn knowing he will have to ride his bike back home.

"I hope it won't fall off" Jayden askes with concern as he is observing his bike from the back seat of the car as they are driven to school.

Arriving at school, the driver quickly steps out of the car to open the door for Evelyn and Jayden. Evelyn steps out of the car first before Jayden heads out of the car secondly. Gasp could be heard as Jayden steps out of the car.

"Don't tell me those two are actually dating...Did Evelyn and Leon actually break up??" One of the students whispered to themselves.

"I can't believe she went for the scholarship boy though" another one said.

"It's giving the start of what happened last year" another of the student said.

When Jayden and Evelyn were about entering with their hands intertwined, Leon's car pulls up with both him and Athena coming out with Athena clinging on to his arm.

"Let's go babe" Athena looks at Leon before staring at Evelyn to smile at her.

"No way... Leon is now dating Evelyn's best friend? Talk about the betrayal and plot twist" One student comments before they all leave to their respective classes.

After school, Evelyn goes back home to take a shower and prepare for the hunting her and her family plan to do this evening.

It's now 5pm and Evelyn and her family are heading towards the hunting ground. Arriving there, Evelyn's father starts by showing them how to kill the prey. He demonstrates to them on how to use the gun to shut down the animal. Aiming for the rabbit that was eating grass, Evelyn's father shoots down the rabbit. While Evelyn's father was still talking, Evelyn receives a text from the anonymous sender threatening her.

"I'll send the videos to your dad's email..be careful around him" the anonymous text read.

Evelyn notices that her father's right hand man came in with an iPad and his phone telling him about something urgent that had just shown up. Staring at Evelyn while still on the phone, Evelyn's dad picks up his gun and starts reloading it. Ending the call and pointing towards Evelyn her father says "So you have decided to disgrace my name just like your biological mother tried to do you whore" and with that he shoots Evelyn... that was the scenario she had imagined but what actually happened was that her father received a mail about the shareholders meeting and had to leave early for it with all of them returning back home.
