Coincidence?

As Ava prepared to leave for work that evening, all she could think about was Mason, and how he had conveniently showed up at her place of work. Something tells her it wasn't a coincidence, because she has been working in that shop for the past six months, and not for once has she seen him come there to shop. But barely a week after they met he shows up there. Something didn't add up, could he be stalking her? But why would he do that? What could he possibly want from her?

"What has got you looking so worried?" Maddie who was sitting on their bed, scrolling through her phone, asked Ava.

"There are several Nike stores in this city, how come he coincidentally comes to mine?"

"Who are you talking about?" Maddie asked.

"Mason of course."

Maddie shrugged, "coincidence happens all the time."

Ava seemed thoughtful for a moment and then said, "do you think he could be stalking me? What if he is a serial killer or something?"

"Then he would have killed you at the hotel room when it was just the two of you there. Stop thinking nonsense, I don't see any reason why he should be stalking you," Maddie said, dismissing Ava's worries.

"But you said it yourself last night that he might like me, what if...."

"Oh God Ava, stop! You are being paranoid over nothing. Why don't we wait and see if he shows up again, then after that we can now conclude if he is stalking you or not?"

Ava let out a breath, "I already have enough problems in my hands to add being stalked to it."

"Just calm down, okay?" Maddie said before she went back to pressing her phone.

"Wait a second, I have seen this guy before," Maddie said, as she came across the social media post that was written about Mason being Gynophobic.

"What guy is that?" Ava came closer to look at Maddie's phone screen.

"This guy," Maddie said, pointing at Mason's picture. "I met him at the hospital you were admitted a few days ago."

Ava was quiet for a moment as she read through the post, and then she looked up at Maddie. "Are you sure it was this same guy you saw?" She asked Maddie.

"Of course, why would you even ask me that? I was worried sick about you when I bumped into him at the hospital, he must have seen the worried look on my face because he asked me what the problem was, and I told him...." Maddie paused, "you know when the doctor told us someone already paid your medical bills, I suspected he was the one, but I wasn't so sure."

"Then he is truly stalking me," Ava said in a fearful tone.

"What do you mean by that? Do you know him as well?" Maddie looked at the name on the article, "don't tell me this is the Mason?"

Ava slowly nodded, "yes he is."

"Don't you see? This guy is obviously stalking me, because how else do you explain the fact that he was at the same hospital where I was admitted? Please don't say it's coincidence, because you know it isn't."

Maddie didn't say anything, she just kept staring at Mason's picture.

"What do I do, Maddie?"

"I don't think you should panic yet, probably he was at the hospital for something else at that time," Maddie said. She was beginning to think Ava might be right about Mason stalking her, but she didn't want to tell her that, so she doesn't worry more.

"No, I don't believe that, it's too much of a coincidence," Ava said.

Maddie looked at her phone screen as she read through the article, "it says here that he is scared of approaching women," Maddie read out and Ava made a snorting sound, "please, I find that hard to believe." The Mason that she has met was anything but scared, instead he was the direct opposite.

"Do you think it could be the reason he didn't sleep with you at the hotel?" Maddie asked.

"I very much doubt if what this writer is saying is true, because the few times that I have met Mason, he didn't show any signs of weakness, it's rather quite the opposite."

"Hmmm true, the day I bumped into him at the hospital, though we didn't speak for long, I didn't notice any form of weakness, instead he looked rather domineering," Maddie said.

"That's what I'm trying to tell you."

Maddie looked distracted for a moment, "wow, I didn't know he was a big shot, it says he is the CEO of Mivada," Maddie said as she continued to read the article, then she started to Google him.

"Oh wow, he is truly a big shot!" Maddie gushed as she read through Mason's profile. Ava took the phone from her and when she saw his profile, she said, "he is truly a big shot. Then what does he want with me?"

"Why don't you ask him this, the next time he comes around?" Maddie suggested.
