Adonis…..
On Adonis' return to the castle, he checked in on things with Cathia, getting updated by the guard. He was surprise to learn that things were really quiet in her room except for the soft sobs from time to time.
Losing a mate is really hard, he know she is truly suffering. He blames her brother for dragging Beta Drew into his schemes, whatever they truly might be.
He then made his way up to his wing.
As the elevator opened up unto his floor he immediately realize that Diviya was not on it.
He called Bridget next as he made his way to the staircase and speed vamp his way to the library.
Bridget had messaged him about Diviya being in the library today. But was she still there?
As Bridget picks up he ended the call as he was now on the wing with the library and he already felt her.
He was angry, why was she here at this time ALONE!! He was also worried.
Although she was in HIS castle Adonis was not interested in taking chances with Diviya.
From now on he would station two guards outside his wing whenever he leaves it.
They are to follow her anywhere she may go, be it in, around or outside the castle.
He curse himself for not thinking of this sooner. Although he really was not expecting that she would be in the library at this time of night and unguarded at that.
He would be better prepared the next time she does something like this, that was for sure.
He opens the door, quietly enters then shuts the door behind him.
Adonis turns and scans the room, he found her all the way to the back, at one of the tables and he instantly forgot he was angry moments ago.
He noticed she has a few books opened in front of her.
Their eyes made four as he enters in her view, Diviya was already looking at where she suspect he would be coming from.
"Heyyyy Goodnight!" Diviya said all cheery all of a sudden.
Diviya realized she hadn't missed him as much today being caught up in the whirlwind of her mind, fighting her battle, the one that she created.
Besides he was like the villain of her day, trying to not fail in front of him, feeling less than beside him.
But NOW seeing him here, in front of her, all tall, built and sinfully handsome. Oh how she missed him.
And why does his shirt fit sooo perfect on him, like it was sculpted on?
"Good morning!" Adonis countered. With a side smile, looking so sizzlingly hot she could just melt.
Diviya's eyes moves to the clock and her eyes widen as she shift in her chair at the realization that the time says 2:35 am.
"Oh my goodness, I I really didn't think it was THAT late." Diviya started to explain wondering where the time went when Adonis interrupted.
"Or early." Adonis couldn't help himself but tease her, whilst standing there with his phone still in his hand as he admires his mate. He chuckles in such a sexy way.
She blushes at his quip, "wow well seems I got really caught up in what I was reading."
"Anything I might know of?" Adonis asks innocently as he moves so smooth and pulls out a chair next to her. He simply wanted to be close to her.
He glance at the books spread across the table, he observes some books taken from the history section, he also saw the book of prophecies currently opened in front of her.
"Yes, I guess…I mean am sure you do.." Diviya was eager to ask him about the prophecy.
She wanted to ask about the two prophecies but the one of the purple haired Queen piqued her interest more.
She had already learnt in the history section that in this world the mating of two different magical being was forbidden, they cannot have children.
Their creation will never survive long even if one were to actually conceive. They would die in the womb, not fully developing. So this was definitely not the norm.
The only two beings that are different and can have children are any magical being with a human.
So Diviya had strongly felt that the fact that she was here that means that the prophecy of the forbidden love was about her.
It really was not far fetched to think that this was about her.
Nevertheless Adonis answer her…
"I mean I can't say I have read every book in this library but try me." Then he lifts one of his perfectly shaped eyebrows for her to go on.
Diviya slants her body facing him, "I came across the book of Prophecies and there were two that stood out…"
Grasping the book in her hands once more she found the first and wasted no time in reciting the two prophecies that got her full attention. One after the other.
She wanted to read them out and ask her question.
As soon as she was finished she asks looking him in his beautiful blue eyes. As blue as the bluest sky and those long thick eyelashes that sits perfectly, "are these two prophecies about me?"
Adonis knew that one of the prophecy was about her but why would she think the purple haired Queen prophecy was about her?
He looks at her intently, observing her closely, searching for the answer as his interest was fully piqued.
Turning his body to face Diviya as he rests one hand on the table he says casually, "honestly I know of one definitely fits you for sure…"
He pauses for moment as he study her some more, then ask, "the prophecy about the purple haired Queen, why would you think that was about you?"
He just had to know.
His voice now held a hint of amazement, awe and curiosity, because to be honest when he first read that prophecy he felt like it was about HIS family sometime in the future.
However as he met his mate and can now confirm that his mate does not have purple hair, it simply means that particular prophecy was not about HIS family.
And he would never imagine it being with another person, because he simply cannot imagine a life where Diviya will no longer be his mate.
But he was curious as to why she would think THAT particular prophecy was about her.
Diviya smiles genuinely and says casually, "because my natural hair colour is purple."
Diviya had thought it would be a welcomed surprise when her hair dye washes off completely, given the colour choice at the castle.
But looks like this could not be kept a surprise anymore. Even though there was a chance that maybe in this world purple hair was not uncommon.
She did not know and had to know if there was a chance that this was about her.
Adonis' eyes went wide, the first thing he thought was I knew that prophecy was about my family.
Then he immediately stiffens, he just realized the double weight on his shoulders. However those two prophecies do seem to mesh beautifully he had to admit.
He sat back on his chair and ran his hand through his hair then let's out his breath.
Shit, there has not been any records of anyone having purple hair in his world nor the humans.
In the human world there were many with purple hair but it was not their natural colour.
Adonis was thrilled to learn that HIS mate was the purple haired Queen. She was actually the purple haired Queen.
Of course he would soon confirm but he sensed no lie and why would she?
Many of the magical beings believe the purple haired Queen to be their Goddess on earth. A direct descendant from the Moon Goddess.
She was said to have unmatched powers and abilities. Where a magical being may possess one to four gifts. It was said that she has countless abilities.
Her son will lead human kind and the different kind into a new future. Her daughter will become the Queen of wolves.
The reason he thought it was his family was because the children were different magical creatures same parents.
That can only be his doing. Then he even thought it might be one of his children that were the parent. As he refused to believe that Diviya would not be his wife for all eternity.
Now he understands his feelings and is thankful that Diviya was in fact the mother (Queen) spoken about.
Observing Adonis going through different reactions Diviya ask "what's wrong?"
