Adonis owns a lot of businesses, this is no secret. He purposed to start making the rounds more regularly and that means traveling a lot more.
And Adonis was willing to do whatever it takes, also while dealing with the issue at hand he needed to deal with the Vampire King issue.
"So how are you and Diviya." Dracul says nonchalantly but he did not miss the way Adonis' features changed.
He was smiling. Dracul's eyes were bulging out of his head. This was truly becoming a regular thing now.
Seeing Adonis absolutely smitten. It is something truly wonderful to see and Dracul was happy he had a front row seat to it.
"We are great…perfect even," Adonis answers when his hands automatically reaches up and grazed his lower lip.
As if in that moment he was remembering one of the many kisses they'd share together.
Dracul observes Adonis some more.
"I miss her like crazy when we are apart…I am dying to see her every second…she is constantly on my mind….and just imagine I haven't seen her lastnight and now I missed tonight as well…but it was for obvious reasons, duty calls".
Adonis lets it all out on Dracul wishing he could have seen a closer end to this, sometime in the really near future.
But no, that was not the case. However he was sure hoping getting an assistant would help.
"I just wish we had gotten to spend at least a day together….since she has been here I am always busy with work you know…..first was the investigation…and now it's the fvcking mess left behind."
"Well please, by all means don't hold back on my account." Dracul responded.
Adonis was offloading, he was really beginning to see how busy he had been and which had a rippling effect of taking away time with Diviya.
They should have at least spent a day together by now, not stolen moments and an execution. Adonis thought bitterly.
He must make the time for her.
"Dude you need to make time for her," Dracul responded matter of factly.
"I know." Adonis had came to the same conclusion. "Thanks for the talk bud." Sighing he gets up off the couch and tapped Dracul on his shoulders and he left making his way back to Castle Velia.
Back to Diviya earlier on….
Diviya had moved about her room getting ready with purpose, a new plan in mind to get some answers where she can be better prepared.
She got to her door and pulls it open, when it suddenly dawns on her that she was not to walk around on her own. Someone must escort her at all times.
Plus Diviya thought she really don't know how the staff or anyone she run in to would react to her being alone and she honestly did not want to find out.
In the end she called for Bridget to come escort her to the library, but that she only wanted to be escorted, as she would like to be alone with the books and her thoughts she had explained.
Bridget had obliged.
Now hours have passed and Diviya was beat. Bridget had popped in every two hours or so then, now it seems like every hour.
Diviya had ran through countless books in the history section but nothing about becoming Queen of all magical being.
She had spend a good portion of her time roaming the library randomly pulling out books in different sections of the library after history was a bust.
However she did learn a lot of their history to know there has never been a Queen before. She would be the first and maybe that's why she couldn't find anything.
But she would not give up, shouldn't there be some type of guide should there be Queen? She also found out that someone came close, Adonis' love Avery but she was brutally murdered and her body sent to him in pieces.
That particular story though was not in there major history books. That particular tidbit was from another book, one about Adonis' history in particular.
Diviya was definitely drawn to that book.
Now as Diviya continues her roaming in the library she came across a book tucked away neatly in the corner of a bookshelf that was all the way down to the back.
But maybe it was not hiding, it was just the one that she had randomly pulled out when she got to that shelf.
It was 'The Book of Prophecies', a white book with gold scribe.
Diviya took it over to the table where she was earlier with the other stuff she had randomly picked out and had either read or browsed.
It doesn't take long for her to become engrossed in this book about prophecies. This book was smaller than most she had come across.
As she curiously reads, she found that there were two prophecies that stood out to her.
One about, a child born of forbidden love finding her peace and protector in the darkness itself.
She wonders if this was the prophesy that Adonis was about to tell her. Right on the heels of the conversation of her parents.
And another of a Queen whose beauty is matchless with hair the shade of amethyst and eyes a piercing shade of green one gaze mere men would die.
Diviya had read those two prophecies over and over and her mind was blown.
Her mind was doing it's usual million questions.
She did not react smug or arrogant or proud at the thought that this might be about her.
Especially the fierce leader described in the latter prophecy.
As a matter of fact she was actually far from it when that intense feeling had made it's way to the pit of her stomach.
A strong feeling that these two prophecies was about her. Diviya started laughing hysterically, as if the pressure she was under and all the feelings she was feeling was not enough.
Honestly in that moment Diviya was not thinking of where she was or what time it was. She laughed and laughed knowing full well if she didn't she might just scream. Or cry.
Diviya was afraid. Afraid of failure and she needed her mom, desperately.
In moments like this, Diviya's mom would usually give her that pep talk, straighten her out, but she was not here.
Diviya sat quietly now in the library as she came down from her fit of laughter, and she cleared her mind and channel her mom in this moment, thinking of what her mother would tell her.
And she was thrilled she was not interrupted during her little moment of laughter.
Diviya was known for psyching herself out for no reason, always quick to think the worst of herself, she had some deep rooted insecurities, her adoptive parents always thought it stemmed from her feelings about being left at the door of a church.
Diviya's parents had sent her to therapy and she had gotten a lot better. She is familiar with how she spirals and knows when to pull herself back, and more importantly she understands her worth.
She understood that the reasons her parents left her was just that, their reasons. Though she would love to know the details, she no longer let it define her.
Trust and believe it took her a long time to come to terms with this. Because often times she would choose to comfort herself with the thought of them leaving her behind because they had no other choice and it was life and death.
But her therapist discouraged her from seeking comfort in what can possibly be a lie. Because if or when the day do come and she had the chance to learn the true reason it may shatter her. If said truth was anything less than life or death.
Because what then? The therapist had said. She remembers those words as if they were spoken to her just yesterday.
She needed to truly let it go and let go of the crutches.
However right now in present day, Diviya's emotions have been all over the place since the pass few days.
She has been dealing with the death of her parents, her life being in danger and her needing to run and seek protection.
She got protection, found a new world and a mate. Not just any mate but the King of mates.
The level of responsibility that is now at her feet for her to carry given everything. Needless to say she was overwhelmed and there also was a new type of feeling. Feeling less than.
THIS is what have her spiraling really and truly.
Nevertheless she thought hard and it was as if she could almost conjure up an entire conversation as clear as day, "stop this right now my sweet sweet child, why do you always do this to yourself?"
"You and I both know you can accomplish any thing you set your mind to. If you fail the first time, you tried again, you never gave up! I know you can do this Vee, with or without any prior details. So what if you don't have prior information?"
"I know you feel the need to prove yourself, but stop worrying when I am sure there is nothing to be worried about. Think of it as the first day of school, the teachers did not expect the children to know everything the very first day. Babygirl please stop always thinking the worst, besides I love you no matter what."
Diviya smiles, however her smile was interrupted by the strong feeling that enveloped her.
