Apology

"Don't worry. We're not letting them take her.

They walk toward the door, Kasai looks through the window and sees Adrien lying there unconscious.

Her face is flushed because of her fever and she still has bruises and cuts from when she crashed the Island Cruiser, and he can see new bruises on her arms in the shape of hand prints.

'That must've happened when I grabbed her too hard.' He thinks to himself feeling guilty for hurting her.

She's surrounded in greenish- blue aura and hooked up to a machine that's sustaining her, but not for long.

"Well. This is it." Lucien says.

"Just go in and try to get her aura under control so the doctor's can treat her. Here, I'll take your cuffs off." Katalina says as she unlocks his cuffs.

She leans in and whispers in his ear.

"Just try to focus on Adrien right now. I'll deal with the General. Understand."

Kasai nods his head and proceeds to enter the room. He shuts the door behind him. He can see Lucien, Katalina, and Daichi on the other side of the soundproof glass. Katalina gestures him to move quickly but carefully. He slowly walks to the side of her bed and kneels down beside her.

He watches her slip in and out consciousness.

She strains to open her eyes, but she can only open them partially.

"Huh? who's there?" She says while groaning in pain.

She can't make out the dark silhouette kneeling down on the side of her bed. 'My head is killing me. I must be delirious, my vision is too blurred.' She thinks to herself while trying to touch her head.

Something or someone suddenly grabs her hand and stops her from touching her head. She flinches and her heart rate spikes up.

'What the heck! Did someone just grab my hand!?'

"Try not to move."

She hears a male voice speak to her.

"W-what are you doing!? Let go of my hand!" she screams.

"Calm down Adrien. It's me, It's Kasai." He says while trying to calm her down.

"Kasai?" She tries to remember where she heard that name. It finally comes to her. "Oh my gosh Kasai! You're not hurt are you? Did anyone else get caught in the blast!?"

"Woah woah calm down!"

"Sorry."

"Don't apologize. You shouldn't worry about that right now. Try focusing on yourself."

"There's no way I wouldn't worry about something like that, since it was partially my fault." Adrien says as she had a guilty look on her face

"Please, don't blame yourself. No one blames you for what happened. Honestly, I think they're the one's who feel guilty for letting this get out of hand." He says as he notices he aura calming down.

The medical staff start to enter the room as they see her calm down.

"These people aren't going to hurt you. When you feel better, I'll come find you. Okay?" He says while letting her hand go.

"Okay!" She says cheerfully.

The general's men enter and remove Kasai from the room.

Adrien watched with blurry eyes as the men dragged Kasai out. 'He'll be okay right?'

Katalina watches as Daichi's men drag Kasai in the other direction. She tries to follow them but is stopped my a guard.

"Hey! What do you think your doing!?" She shouts as she struggles to get through.

"I don't know why your getting so upset Lieutenant. Your little protege is still guilty for disobeying government officials and Adrien is guilty for destroying Island property." Daichi says while motioning his men to continue.

"This is going way to far!!" Katalina shouts

Lucien notices the bickering between Daichi and Katalina and cuts in."Please keep your voice down Lieutenant."

"Sorry sir." Katalina says

"But headmaster, please understand this is hardly Kasai's fault. He wasn't in his right mind at the time. And it didn't really help that we we're threatening them with guns. All I'm asking is that you hold off for now, and we can deal with this later."

Lucien stands there quietly for a while pondering in his mind.

"Alright. General have your men escort Mr. Akikito back to his hospital room. Leave him there until I give you further instruction. AND. Until Adrien is given the O.K to leave the hospital, Lieutenant Katalina will be watching over her. Is that understood General."

Daichi wears an angered look on his face and clenches his fist behind his back. "Understood sir."

Katalina smiles triumphantly feeling as though she had won that argument.

"Well, it looks like you won that one!" Katalina hears a voice say behind her.

She turns around abruptly. "Oh, Jiro its you!" Katalina says sounding surprised.

"But, I would get your hopes up. You heard what Lucien said, when Adrien gets discharged from the hospital that's it. I'd be careful if I were you."

"That's a problem for another time Jiro. Lets just focus on this victory now."

They both head back to the Adrien's glass window and see the doctors treating her.

"With the drugs they put her on she'll most likely be out the whole day. its still your day off right?" Jiro asks

"Yeah it is. Why?"

"Wanna get a drink?"

Katalina smirks.

Jiro and Katalina head back up to the higher levels of the hospital and head to the ramen bar.

Jiro offers her a chair. "After you Miss."

Katalina giggles. "Well! Aren't you a gentleman!"

"Hey Katalina! And Jiro what a surprise seeing you too together." The owner greets both of them with a teasing smile.

"Nice to see you too Aido! We'll both have a shot of sake. You know what make that Two shots of sake!" Katalina says while laughing.

They both sit there till the sun sets and talk and laugh each others ears off.

"So, what made you take me to one of my favorite restaurants in the world. Not saying I don't appreciate it, I just haven't been here in so long." Katalina asks while pushing her ramen with her chopsticks.

Jiro sighs. "I know you and Kasai used to come here when you guys were still young. I thought It'd make you feel better if you'd just take a load off. Your always working, even on your days off. And I know you blame yourself for what happened."

Katalina places a hand on his shoulder. "Thanks for cheering me up Jiro, but there's still a whole lot of things I have to make up for. Starting with this whole explosion debacle.

"KATALINA!"

She hears someone call her name from across the street. Fear and guilt fills her face when she recognizes the voice. she turns around and sees him.

"Nanaji?"

She gets up from her stool and approaches him while laughing nervously. "W-what are you doing here?"

Nanaji takes his phone out of his back pocket. "I'VE BEEN TRYING TO CALLING YOU FOR 10 HOURS!!"

Nanaji starts yelling louder and louder and they start to attract a crowd around them. She pulls her phone out and can see over a thousand missed calls and texts. As he's doing this his orange colored aura spikes up off his body.

Katalina tries to calm him down. "Okay Nanaji, I'm gonna need you to calm dow-"

"NO!! I AM SICK OF THE 'everything is fine!' AND OF ALL THE LIES! I'VE SPENT THE WHOLE DAY GOING TO EACH AND EVERY HOSPITAL ON THIS FREAKING ISLAND! AND I HAVE STILL NOT FOUND KASAI!! IF YOU DON'T TELL ME WHAT"S GOING ON RIGHT NOW-"

Suddenly, Jiro comes up from behind Nanaji and puts him in a headlock and drags him off. Katalina follows them and they all head to Jiro's car.

He lets go off Nanaji and gives him some space to calm down.

"WHAT DO YOU THINK YOUR DOI--"

Katalina immediately places her hand on his mouth to keep him from yelling.

"Fine. You wanna know where Kasai is?"

"We'll take you to him!"
