Ten Years Later

In a dark alley, a teenager, who seemed to be struggling with existential problems, stood there, seriously contemplating how to ask that man for his wish.

He knew of a man named Lucifer Morningstar, someone who granted favors to people in exchange for a wish. That was how he operated.

"I want to ask him for a favor..."

"Oh, what a surprise. Tell me, boy, now that I'm enjoying this modern world, free of all supernatural creatures for years, what is it that you desire?"

"I want you to help my sister..."

Lucifer's smile grew wider, ready to use his ability, when suddenly a deep voice whispered, "I wouldn't make deals with a being like the devil himself."

"Well, well, look who we have here—the constellation that became a divine being after his death. What humans do with faith is truly remarkable, isn't it, Anton ShadowBane?" Lucifer turned to look at Anton, signaling the people around him to leave.

Anton wasn't here to cause trouble; he just wanted to know if Lucifer was restraining himself. "Are you living without causing chaos?"

"We had a little breach in Hell, but you sealed it when you killed the goddess of decay. That fight was marvelous; the way they crushed you was exquisite."

"You won't anger me with that, Lucifer." Anton lifted his gaze, revealing complete calm in his emotions.

"Hmm, still haven't lost your temper? Shouldn't you feel something, seeing demons coexist with humans without causing chaos?" Lucifer asked, intrigued by Anton's composed demeanor toward the circumstances.

Anton calmly sipped his drink and said, "Do you know why I'm here? I want all agents of light who fought in the war against darkness to die. I will guide them to heaven, thank them personally for their service, and watch over their ascension."

"There are already angels handling that garbage... Compared to the disappointment of humans still in this world, nothing beats the souls of demon hunters, exorcists, and the like." Lucifer understood that trying to anger someone like Anton was futile, so he gave up.

Life was sad, though Anton himself was not sad. There was an ongoing internal battle about how he ended up as a deity, similar to that of a god.

To humans, he was a hero, someone whose name appeared in history books.

Anton appreciated that. The new experiences he'd had since his death were endless.

He could visit his family, though he truly wanted Akira to live a new life. But knowing the loyalty she had for him, even after years of his death, he stayed close to her to make sure she wasn't left alone with her daughter.

"The future of the world should be left to humans."

"Understandable. One day, they'll seek their own destruction." Lucifer smiled as he poured another drink.

"You know it doesn't affect me..."

"Aren't you using a human body?"

Anton smiled and said as he stood up, "I'll leave you alone as long as you keep Hell closed for them. I don't want to see them in the world of the living anymore."

"Don't worry, I wouldn't let anyone escape." Lucifer said, watching as Anton disappeared in a dreadful golden light.

"My father must surely adore him..." Lucifer muttered, staring at the liquid in his glass.
