Chapter 198: Replicating fear
Emily's POV
When we are babies and toddlers we were told to fear monsters in the closet and creepy alleys near a morgue or in my own case a temperamental uncle with anger issues…we are warned about electrical outlets and wildfires..we are warned about creepy men in creepy coat with buckets of sweets and a van…we were taught stranger danger and buddy systems to keep us safe.
I bet as children we wanted to grow up…we wanted to grow up fast so we can out run that fear and…well, eventually we do.
We grow up and we no longer find monsters in our closets, scary and temperamental uncles are a world away and we can touch electrical outlets and quench wildfires.
As adults we become unstoppable…or so we would like to think.
But the thing about fear is it replicate and it's infectious and it's deadly. It's merciless in it's actions and it corrupts everything it touches.
