The Starter Of Starters

As Eric and his dad entered the pokemon center a female voice came from behind them.

Hey Eric! You finally came to get your starter pokemon.

Eric recognized the voice, but his dad didn't.

Well I was finally able to brake away before my mom broke down in tears this time Ashley.

Ashley was a 5 foot 8 inch tall 16 year old with long bright pink hair, with quite the body to match her double D's.

So what pokemon are you getting?

I don't know my dad just told me that I'll find out when he does.

so your doing a lottery pick?

maybe, I don't know, but what ever he or she is I know we'll make a good team.

well Eric we need to hurry or we'll miss the deadline.

oh that's right! we better hurry.

As Eric and his dad rushed inside to sign in Eric felt as if someone or something was calling out to him, but in his mind. So Eric pushed this feeling aside and waited to be called back to choose his starter.

Meanwhile nearby in the ocean a pair of irregular colored eggs are lost and drifting. one towards Slateport and the other towards Cinnabar Island in the Kanto region. The parents of both eggs are worried and are looking for them but gave up hope of finding them.

As Eric stepped forward to receive his new ID card he felt as if the being that was trying to call out to him earlier is trying again but a little bit more urgent then earlier.

Now if you would please follow Nurse Joy she will take you to where you will choose your starter pokemon.

Nurse Joy will tell you what you possibilities are out of 10 different pokemon.

So Eric followed Nurse Joy to a 10 footX10 foot room and in the middle of it was a 5 foot table with 10 pokeballs on it with a slip of paper numbering each one.

Go ahead and pick one of the pokeballs when your done filling out those forms, in the mean time I'll tell you the possibilities you could get in this set.

As Nurse Joy ran the video of league laws and regulations for trainers Eric filled out his trainer forms that contains his personal data like hight, weight, age, date of birth, and home town, and most importantly his trainer account number (trainer accounts and the numbers associated with them are for when you win or lose a trainer battle, they hold the trainers funds and when combined with a trainer ID card can be used as a debit card).

And with all of that done and over with I'll tell you what pokemon you can possibly obtain in this lottery. you could obtain a Scyther, Taillow, Ralts, Dratini, Magikarp, Rattata, Staru, Weedil, Pidgey, and Geodude.

Ok, done and I'll choose you!

As Eric pick up one of the pokeballs Nurse Joy writes done number 7 and had a shocked look on her face.

Well with this as your starter you could easily reach master level trainer in 5 years. My I have your ID card so I can put this in your trainer file.

Eric hands Nurse Joy his ID card without a second thought, and started thinking of what he could've gotten as His starter.

Ok just a few adjustments and done, and here you go Mr. Johnson, you trainer ID has been updated and your trainer salary has been adjusted to compensate for your starter.

Thank you Nurse Joy and can you tell me if its Male or Female?

Its Female, and take good care of her.

I will. So can I go and let her out then?

Yes, Eric, all of your paper work and everything is done and now your officially a pokemon trainer.

As soon as Nurse Joy Said this Eric sprinted out of the room towards the lobby so he could see what he got for his starter. As soon as Eric entered the lobby his dad called out.

When Eric turned to see where his dad called out to him from he noticed Ashley and his dad where over by the magikarp pond to the right of the main door of the pokemon center.

So what did you get Eric?

Yeah what did you get son?

I'm not sure.

well let's go outside and find out.

So Eric, Ashley, and Eric's dad went outside to find out what Eric's starter pokemon is.

Well Eric let it out.

It's a girl, and I will.

how do you already know it a girl?

Nurse Joy told me.

Alright you two I'm pretty sure your pokemon is anxious to meet you son, so let her out and greet her.

Ok dad.

So Eric pulled out his starter's pokeball, pressed the center button to enlarge the pokeball and released his starter.

Eric is that what I think it is? How is it your this lucky Eric?

yes it is what you think it is and I don't know how I lucked out.

Well son don't just stand there and ignore her! Introduce yourself to her and tell us what she is.

yeah, yeah. this is a Dratini, a rare serpent dragon type pokemon. She is about 5 years old based on her size, she is also pretty strong for her age as well. Hey girl, my name is Eric you new trainer. First out Dratini I have a question for you. Do you acknowledge me as your trainer?

Dratini looked Eric over and wrapped herself around Eric's leg and climbed out to his shoulder, and when she was done looking him over she nodded her head happily.

Good then I have another question for you. Do you want to work with me to reach the top and be stronger then any other team, and continue to reach greater hights?!

When Dratini heard her new trainer ask/ make this proclamation she was both thrilled and determined to reach to top and be the strongest Dragonite in the world alongside Eric. When Eric saw the look in Dratini's eyes he knew she was with him in this and ready to do what every it takes to reach the top and beyond. Eric, Ashley, and Eric's dad where so out of it talking and getting to know Eric's Dratini that they didn't notice that a lot of the other parents and kids in the area the got their starters where starting to stare at them. One kid who heard what Eric got for starter tried to have his parents get him one or to trade his pokemon for Eric's Dratini, but before the parents could get close to Eric, someone else approached Eric not to take or trade for Dratini, but to see what kind of person he is.

So you want to shoot for the top ay kid!?

Eric turned his head to see who is questioning him and this possibility and Eric had a very determined look on his face when he replied to the man he saw before him.

What's wrong with that Red?

The now identified Red was shocked to hear this new trailer say his name and see the determination in Eric's eyes.

Well now look like someone's done his studies before becoming a trainer.

all of the parents and kids that just became trainers looked at Eric and Red, and lookes away and knew that their kid(s) weren't ready yet but let them go anyways.

Well that's League business, and is classified to those under champion level or under the rank of general in the armed forces.

I look forward to it. Oh and by the way the reason why I came over here was to see just who was crazy enough to declare that they would be at the top some day. Well kid I can clearly see why you'd say that, and don't you dare lose that fighting spirit, cause I want a good fight one of these days.

And before Eric could say anything else Red turned and walked away.

Ashley! that was one of my son's goals! Red Ketchum a former champion of the Kanto League, he quit that position as fast as he got it.

Eric just watched Red walk away and eventually fly away on his Charizard, and Eric just thought of the day he's on that level of skill.
