CHAPTER 109 – THE FIRST BATTLE OF THE INDIGO LEAGUE, ASH VS TOBY (PART TWO)

In the previous chapter we see how they make the draw to see the opponents they will have to defeat to reach the quarterfinals, on the part of Ash faces Toby who lost two of his Pokémon thanks to Pikachu, however, Pikachu lost against Toby's Swampert, now Ash must overcome this obstacle.

I took out my next Pokéball having clear the Pokémon that I am going to use.

"Meowscarada I choose you!" – I said.

What better Pokémon to win that Swampert than his weakness.

Meowscarada went out into the battlefield ready to win.

"PARTICIPANT ASH'S NEXT POKÉMON IS A POKÉMON FROM THE DISTANT REGION OF PALDEA AND ONE OF HIS INITIAL POKÉMON, A VERY RARE POKÉMON TO SEE HERE IN KANTO, MEOWSCARADA!"

Paldea Pokémon are quite rare in Kanto, that's true.

"You won't beat me just by having the upper hand, Swampert uses Muddy Water again, and then use Waterfall!"

Swampert set out to launch his attack, but...

"Meowscarada use Flower Trick!"

Before Swampert could do anything, a light appeared above him and a flower fell at a high speed which hit him causing him to retreat.

"THAT HIT HAS HAD TO HURT, A GRASS-TYPE ATTACK ON A SWAMPERT WHO IS WATER AND EARTH TYPE HAS BEEN VERY EFFECTIVE!"

"Damn it, Swampert use Waterfall!"

Swampert wrapped his fist in a torrent of water and shot himself towards Meowscarada.

"Dodge it and use Flower Trick again!"

Meowscarada easily dodged Swampert's attack and hit another Flower Trick on Swampert leaving him almost weakened, if this were the video game Swampert would have fallen from a single attack, but in the anime is different and not to mention the real life.

"MEOWSCARADA'S SPEED IS TOO FAST FOR TOBY'S SWAMPERT TO HIT HIM! WHAT WILL PARTICIPANT TOBY NOW?"

"Damn... Swampert use Waterfall again but against the ground!"

Swampert threw his Waterfall towards the ground this time causing a tremor and destabilizing Meowscarada.

"Take advantage and use Waterfall!"

Toby believed that with that strategy I would be able to destabilize my Pokémon, but I am clear about one thing, although Meowscarada is a very strong and fast Pokémon, its defenses are very low so I devised a strategy to compensate for that.

"Use Protect!"

"No!" - shouted Toby.

But it was too late, Swampert hit a Waterfall in the barrier emitted by Meowscarada causing it to emerge completely unharmed from the attack.

"Use Knock Off and be done with him!"

Meowscarada covered his fist with a black glow that impacted Swampert completely weakening him.

"AWESOME STRATEGY OF ASH THAT MAKES THE SWAMPERT OF THE OPPONENT TOBY FALL WEAKENED TIPPING THE BALANCE TOWARDS HIM, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN LET ME REMIND YOU THAT THE PARTICIPANT TOBY HAS LOST 3 OF HIS POKÉMON WHILE THE PARTICIPANT ASH ONLY LOST ONE!"

"I have underestimated you, there is no doubt..." – said Toby.

Then he breathed in and expired and then looked at me with a confident smile as he pulled out his next Pokéball.

"Milotic we're going to weaken that Meowscarada at once!" - said Toby pulling out his Milotic.

I must confess that I love Milotic, it is one of my favorite Pokémon and I hope to be able to catch one in the near future.

"CONTESTANT TOBY HAS OPTED TO USE HIS MILOTIC, HOWEVER, ASH'S MEOWSCARADA STILL HAS THE ADVANTAGE, I WONDER WHAT CONTESTANT TOBY IS THINKING RIGHT NOW!"

"We still have the upper hand, Meowscarada uses Flower Trick!"

"Use Protect, and then use Ice Beam!"

Damn, I should have foreseen that.

Milotic took cover and immediately threw an Ice Beam at Meowscarada.

"Well done but it won't work for you Meowscarada dodge it and then use Flower Trick!"

Meowscarada quickly dodged Milotic's attack and launched his attack.

"Use Hydro Pump!"

Milotic used his attack to avoid the Flower Trick by hitting the attack.

"Not bad, Meowscarada use Knock Off!"

If we can't hit from afar, then we'll go head-on.

"Wait Milotic!"

What are you planning, why don't you use Protect to dodge my attack? I already had a strategy to beat him.

When Meowscarada was one meter away from him...

"Now he can't dodge, Milotic use Ice Beam!"

Milotic used Ice Beam which hit Meowscarada head-on, sending it flying.

"AWESOME, PARTICIPANT TOBY WAITED UNTIL THE LAST MOMENT SO THAT ASH'S MEOWSCARADA COULD NOT DODGE HIS ATTACK WITH HIS PRODIGIOUS SPEED!"

"And that's not all, Milotic use Hydro Pump against the ground!"

"Take advantage and use Flower Trick!"

Both attacks did their job, Milotic soaked the ground and was hit by Meowscarada's Flower Trick leaving him badly damaged.

"It's time for our counterattack, Milotic use Ice Beam!"

"Dodge it!"

But I was wrong, the Ice Beam was not for me, but for the ground, which largely froze.

"Slide towards him!"

Milotic's speed doubled as he went through the ice as Meowscarada struggled to stay on his feet.

"Goodbye, Milotic use Ice Beam!"

When I realized Milotic was in front of Meowscarada, damn, his strategy was very good and I didn't have time to think about something, it seems to me that he already came with that strategy prepared.

"Flower Trick!"

Luckily and thanks to the speed of Meowscarada, both attacks hit the target weakening both Pokémon.

"IMPRESSIVE THE STRATEGY OF PARTICIPANT TOBY WHO MANAGES TO WEAKEN ASH'S MEOWSCARADA AT THE COST OF WEAKENING HIS MILOTIC MAKING THE SCORE 4 TO 2!"

"Not bad Toby, you surprised me with that strategy" – I said putting away my Pokéball after returning to Meowscarada to his Pokéball and thanking him.

"Right? I practiced it a lot and it seems that it was effective, too bad I had to use it against your Meowscarada, any other Pokémon would have fallen without being able to attack" – Toby nodded.

"You are absolutely right but let's continue, there is still a battle ahead" – I nodded.

"You're right, Carracosta I choose you!" - said Toby.

I have the perfect Pokémon for this.

"Lopunny I choose you!"

I know Carracosta is very defensive but we make up for it with our speed.

"THE NEW BATTLE WILL BE BETWEEN CARRACOSTA AND LOPUNNY, KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR THIS EXCITING BATTLE!"

"Let's not waste time, Lopunny use Drain Punch!"

"Counterattack with Super Power!"

Both attacks collided and neither seemed to have the advantage, it seems that in attack they are equal, not that I can't match it... But I prefer to wait.

"Retreat Lopunny!"

Lopunny retired.

"INCREDIBLE, IT SEEMS THAT BOTH POKÉMON ARE TIED IN BRUTE FORCE!"

Well, this is difficult, when both Pokémon are tied in strength what you should do is take advantage of your strong point and attack the weak point of your rival.

"Use your high speed and run around him without getting too close!"

Lopunny began to run in circles surrounding Carracosta, but without getting very close.

"It won't work, Carracosta spins around yourself and use Aqua Tail!"

Carracosta took refuge in his shell and began to turn on himself as torrents of water came out of him, but i already knew he was going to do this.

Well, I knew I was going to do that, obviously hiding inside his shell damaging Carracosta would be impossible, that's why I had to get him out of it.

Carracosta accumulated a lot of power and aimed his fist at Lopunny who was about to fall.

Lopunny nodded and just as he was about to be impacted, he somersaulted and rested his feet on Carracosta's fist using it as a springboard to take advantage of the momentum to get behind him.

"What the hell?" – Toby said in confusion.

It's time to take advantage of Lopunny's huge attack and Superpower's side effect.

"Finish him off, Lopunny use High Jump Kick"

Lopunny hit a powerful kick on Carracosta that sent him flying and fell weakened.

"IT'S IMPRESSIVE, ASH'S LOPUNNY TOOK ADVANTAGE OF THE ENORMOUS POWER OF THE SUPERPOWER AND DODGED IT BY USING IT AS A SPRINGBOARD AND WEAKENING THE CARRACOSTA IN ONE BLOW TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE SUPERPOWER SIDE EFFECT, NOW THE PARTICIPANT TOBY ONLY HAS ONE POKÉMON LEFT WHILE THE PARTICIPANT ASH STILL HAS 4!"

"I must say that you are impressive Ash, a top-notch trainer and a genius but I do not feel humiliated, on the contrary, now I have more desire to improve" - said Toby with a smile.

"Hey, you still have one Pokémon left" - I said.

"It's true and get ready because this Pokémon is my best Pokémon, Gyarados I choose you!" – said Toby.

Su Gyarados stepped onto the field while emitting a deafening roar.

"AWESOME, TOBY'S LAST POKÉMON IS A POWERFUL GYARADOS!"

"We will go with all our power from the beginning or we will not be able to win!" – said Toby.

Then he showed me his glove, there he wore a Key Stone and now that he told me, Gyarados has a necklace with a Mega Stone on his neck, that means.

"Destroy your enemies, prove that you are the most powerful Pokémon and you will never lose, MEGA EVOLUTION!" - shouted Toby.

Rays began to come out of his Key Stone and the Mega Stone at the same time, these rays merged with each other and engulfed Gyarados which changed shape to become a powerful Mega-Gyarados.

"AMAZING, TOBY'S GYARADOS JUST USED THE MEGA EVOLUTION MAKING HIM INCREDIBLY MORE POWERFUL THAN BEFORE, NOW IT ONLY REMAINS TO SEE HOW ASH WILL RESPOND!"

How will I respond? I'll prove it to you.

Then I looked at Lopunny's right arm and saw the bracelet placed on it, it seems to me that the time has come.

"If you use all your power from the beginning, then we'll do the same!" – I said.

Then I also showed my gauntlet, which I decided to leave that way for the time being.

"We will not give up, if the rival is strong then we will be stronger so, reach your limits and destroy them, MEGA EVOLUTION!" – I shouted.

Then we could see how a Mega-Lopunny appeared ready to fight.

"I'M STUNNED LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, ASH ALSO DECIDED TO MEGA EVOLVE TO HIS LOPUNNY SO THIS WILL BE A BATTLE BETWEEN MEGA EVOLUTIONS, I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING HOW EVENTS UNFOLD!"

"Let's finish this as soon as possible, Gyarados use Aqua Tail!"

Mega-Gyarados quickly turned to Mega-Lopunny with the intention of hitting him, however, Lopunny's Mega is characterized by two things, his attack and his speed.

"Dodge it and use Drain Punch!"

With breakneck speed Mega-Lopunny dodged his rival's attack and hit him with a punch that sent him flying.

"ALTHOUGH CONTESTANT TOBY'S MEGA-GYARADOS IS UNDOUBTEDLY POWERFUL, MEGA-LOPUNNY IS TOO FAST FOR HIM, SO IT ALL DEPENDS ON HOW PARTICIPANT TOBY CAN FACE THIS SITUATION!"

That's right, let's see what he does against a speed he can't beat.

"Lopunny let's finish him using Thunder Punch!"

Mega-Lopunny wrapped her fist in a yellow glow and shocked her squarely into Gyarados.

"Hyper Beam, take advantage of its closeness!"

Damn, why do they always use the same strategy?

"Dodge it by bending down!"

"We won't give up Gyarados use Hyper Beam again!"

Mega-Gyarados roared and a Hyper Beam more powerful than the previous one shot out, damn it is a direct hit.

"Since we can't dodge it head-on... we'll dodge it from the air, kick the ground!"

Mega-Lopunny listened and used all his strength to kick the ground, lifting her a few meters into the air.

"It doesn't matter, he has no drive to attack!" - exclaimed Toby.

"And who said we needed that? Lopunny use High Jump Kick!"

The objective of this attack was not to hit Gyarados but to use a technique similar to Sanji from One Piece, that's right, a double jump.

Thanks to the speed and strength of her kick, Mega-Lopunny gained the momentum she needed and headed for Mega-Gyarados at full speed.

"What, is that possible?" – Toby said bewildered.

And it is normal, it took months to perfect the double jump, apparently the power to do it was a lot and it took us a long time to adjust it, the only thing that could get the double jump was the Mega Evolution.

"This is the result of our training, use High Jump Kick!"

With an incredible power that Mega-Gyarados could not dodge, Mega-Lopunny hit him causing him to crash to the ground without energy.
