CHAPTER 110 – THE QUARTERFINALS, ASH VS WENDY
In the previous chapter we see how our hero Ash has an exciting battle against Toby the trainer who uses only Water-type Pokémon, after an arduous battle, Toby manages to weaken only two of Ash's Pokémon while Ash manages to weaken all his Pokémon being the result 6 to 2 in favor of Ash, now, the battle continues.

"I lost..." – Toby sighed after the match.
"Don't be discouraged Toby, the battle was amazing, it's just that using only Water-Type Pokémon limits you a lot" – I said trying to comfort him.
And it's true, Toby is a good trainer, however, only using Water-Type Pokémon makes things difficult for him because his rivals already know what type of Pokémon he will use and they can use countermeasures against him, is the only thing I think fails into him.
"You're right, though, it's the promise i made to someone, i can't use other Non-Water-type Pokémon, i know it limits me a lot, but... in time I will be the best so the next time we meet i will win our battle" – said Toby extending his hand.

To be honest the following fights i liked a lot and to summarize everything i saw, i will tell you the winners of this round and who will participate in the quarterfinals, obviously you know that I was the first, but the rest were Nancy and Verity, which was normal, Gary, Leaf, Wendy, the girl with the twintails named Emma and the boy with the hair in his eye named Fran, those would be the participants of the quarterfinals, in fact I will tell you who will be our next opponents.
The first battle would be Gary against Emma, the second battle would be Leaf against Fran, the third battle would be me against Wendy and the fourth would be Nancy against Verity, a battle that in the end was going to happen, the problem with all this, is that knowing his opponent, there was an impressive rivalry between both girls, Why do I know? Well, because during the family dinner they did not stop staring at each other.
"Well girls let's go to sleep, tomorrow will be a very hard day and I don't feel like staying awake" – I said yawning.
After a nice family dinner, we went back to our room and I must say that everything was completely empty, there were only 8 participants left after all.
"You're right, let's go to sleep, tomorrow will be a tough day, after all we're having a party after i defeat Nancy" - Verity nodded.
"Ha, you believe it, the one who will throw a party will be me after i defeat you!" – said Nancy.
Then they stared at each other with frowns as if to say "I won't lose to you" or something like that.
"Listen girls, in your battle tomorrow can win either of you are amazing trainers both of you and remember that you are like sisters, you must not fight" – I said.
Both girls seemed to come to their senses and nodded but immediately afterwards went to sleep.
"It seems that there is still rivalry between them, anyway, tomorrow I will see the result" – I said while closing my eyes.
The only thing is that tomorrow the entire Indigo League will be surprised because both will use their legendary and mythical Pokémon, in short, this day had to come.

The next morning.
After performing the same ritual as yesterday, we went straight to the stadium, where only my family and a few dozen other people were present.
When we arrived, all the remaining winners were present.
"Ash!" - exclaimed Wendy, approaching me with a smile.
"Wendy, how are you?" – I asked with a smile.
"I'm incredibly nervous and excited about our battle!" – exclaimed Wendy excitedly.
"Me too, I'm looking forward to seeing your strength" – I nodded.
"You'll see how strong I've become, you won't recognize me!" – Wendy nodded.
"I must admit that I am surprised that you have reached the quarterfinals Ash" – said Gary approaching us.
"Thank you I guess" - I said with a shrug.
"Yes... I guess it's a compliment, i have to admit that to have come this far is a laudable feat, we'll see if you can battle tomorrow "– said Gary with his typical smile.
"I really can't stand this guy" - Nancy said, frowning.
"Couldn't he be less self-centered?" – Verity nodded.
"Yes, you are right, I also find it very haughty" – Wendy nodded.
"Come on, it's just his way to say hello" – said Leaf who had just arrived.
"Good morning Leaf" – I greeted.
The girls also waved.
"Good morning, ready for the battles? For my part tomorrow I will partcipate in the semifinals for sure" - said Leaf.
"Don't trust yourself so much, i am very strong and the victory will be mine" – Emma said approaching.
"I know you're strong but the victory will be mine" - Leaf said.
"Hmph, this year's generation of Kanto's trainers are not bad at all, in fact, they are better than the previous one" - Fran said.
"Did you participate last year, how was it?" - asked Verity curiously.
"Emma and I were in the top 10 but the winner wasn't as strong as those here today" - Fran replied.
"Ha, it's normal, this year there is more level not like the weaklings of last year" - said Gary.
"Well, I wouldn't say it like that... but more or less your friend is right, last year's level was very low, in fact, we would have won if not for our lack of experience" – Fran nodded.

The first battles were already over and the winners were Gary and Leaf, although I must say that Emma and Fran are very strong, both lost by a single Pokémon, that's right, they were 6 to 5 in both battles, after the battle I congratulated them all and both boys said that next year they would participate in another Pokémon League and that they would leave Kanto for later.
But back to the subject, now it was my turn and Wendy would not be an easy rival to beat.
"WELCOME TO TODAY'S THIRD BATTLE, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN IF YOU ENJOYED THE PREVIOUS BATTLES, YOU WILL ENJOY THIS EVEN MORE, I PRESENT TO YOU THE THIRD BATTLE, ASH KETCHUM-HALE FROM PALLET TOWN VS WENDY NOX FROM CELADON CITY!"
"Before I start I want to say one thing Ash!" - exclaimed Wendy.

What will She want? Whatever it is she could have told me before, why wait until now?
"If I beat you I want you to go out with me!" - shouted Wendy-

I know that dragon-type attacks are ineffective against Fairy Type Pokémon but my goal here is only to slow it down not to harm it.
Rapidash wrapped her horn in a pink color and lunged towards Charizard who had already prepared to ram.
Due to the impact a strong gust of air made us both retreat, but I could see how Charizard won the confrontation of force, the problem is that although Charizard pushed back Rapidash, she did not suffer any damage because the Dragon type attacks do not affect him.
"I have already checked the strength of your Rapidash, Charizard use Flamethrower!"
Charizard used a powerful attack that headed straight towards Rapidash.
"That's not all our power, Rapidash use Wild Charge!"
Rapidash was completely enveloped in electricity and hit Charizard's Flamethrower.
At first it seemed to cost him, but little by little he went through his attack until she pass through it and heading towards Charizard.
"Fly!" – I exclaimed.
Charizard quickly flew into the sky dodging the Wild Charge completely.

It looks like it will be a tough battle.

"CONTESTANT ASH HAS DECIDED TO COME BACK HIS CHARIZARD TO HIS POKEBALL AFTER OBSERVING THE GREAT POWER OF PARTICIPANT WENDY'S GALARIAN RAPIDASH!"
Well, the Wild Charge is quite dangerous and the Dragon Claw does not affect it so we are at a disadvantage, it is best to retire it.
Then I pulled another Pokéball out of my belt.
"Meowscarada I choose you!" – I said.
And Meowscarada went out into the field ready to fight.
I know they will say that Meowscarada is Dark Type and Galarian Rapidash is Fairy type, but she also possesses the Psychic type but Meowscarada's speed will be a key factor in this combat.
"CONTESTANT ASH'S NEXT POKÉMON IS HIS MEOWSCARADA, A SUPER FAST AND STRONG POKÉMON THAT WE SAW IN PREVIOUS BATTLES, I DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU, BUT I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING THIS MATCH BECAUSE DESPITE BEING IN DISADVANTAGE, CONTESTANT ASH'S MEOWSCARADA CAN'T BE UNDERESTIMATED!"
"You chose a bad Pokémon to fight against Rapidash, Rapidash use Play Rough!"
Rapidash wrapped himself in a pink-colored aura and shot himself at Meowscarada.
I knew I was going to use that attack, now I just have to wait for it to be a few meters away...
"Now Meowscarada use Protect!"
"Damn, Rapidash retreat!"
Surprisingly, Rapidash managed to retire in time but Meowscarada is very fast.
"Flower Trick!"
A powerful Flower Trick hit Rapidash Galar head-on, causing her to retreat.
"I must admit that you are amazing but I don't want to drag this on much longer so I'll go with everything, Rapidash use all your power and use Megahorn!"
Rapidash wrapped her horn in a greenish color and lunged toward Meowscarada.
"It's useless, Meowscarada use Protect!"
Meowscarada protected himself and avoided her blow, however...

"You've done well Meowscarada" – I said returning it to her Pokéball.
Wendy is strong, I am afraid that winning this match will be difficult.
