Lady In Red 1

The restaurant was now covered in two suppressing auras. Most residents of the bar had either collapsed from the strain or we're barely breathing. However two figures stood at the centre of the restaurant unobstructed by their peers' attempt at submission.

" Its never nice to see a pet of the Gambler in my house. "

She clicked her tongue and looked around. Seeing that nobody was hurt she sighed in relief and drew her attention to the young lady standing in front of Domino; surprised she was still conscious.

Lucy felt her fiery gaze on her and met her stare. She didn't need her to speak to see her intentions. She wiggled her way out of his weakened grasp and quickly stepped behind the counter with Suzie who began to comfort her. However her actions went unnoticed as Lucy was enthralled in the intensity of their silence.

Domino quietly watched as the events occurred around him. His eyes pacing around the room. His calm demeanour was unmatched. He rested his fedora on the desk.

" Hey? Where's your cadres? Dont tell me their still out of town?" Most could hear the confidence in his tone rise as he spoke. He leaned to take a step forward with an evil grin.

Click.Crack…the sounds of bones being broken echoed through the silence of the audience.

" I may be a woman…but as a man of you're status you know all too well you're out of your league to try anything with me."

Domino looked down at his left leg which now had its fractured tibia protruding out his left calf. His body was hunched to its left side as if he was born with a deformity. He then nodded politely and turned around. He faced his men and nodded towards them.

They each left the restaurant in quick succession. After a few seconds black locomotives trailing smoke blew down the street in the opposite direction.

He gently rubbed his exposed tibia without flinching and flicked it with his finger. As if falling into place his flesh and bones returned to normal.

He slid his fedora off the table and fitted it along his head. He also picked up his cigar still standing at the edge of the table and pulled a lighter out of his coat. He used his free fingers and dusted off the ash before lighting it again. He took a heavy swig before exhaling a cloud into the air of the store.

" The boss sends his regards.."

Ring…the sound of the chime of the door echoed once again. The oppressive aura in the store began to dissipate. Most went back to what they were doing before others decided to take their leave.

Standing there silently watching it all was the lady in red.

"Hmm…You should have killed him Jack."

She didn't turn around but a young man stepped out from behind the closed door. In his left was a standard HB pencil which was snapped in two. While his right remained unoccupied.

" If it was an easy gig. I woulda gave his neck and body a divorce. But as it turns out he's not all skull 'nd bones "

A retractable comb slid down his sleeve and he threw the pencil pieces in a small bin across the room. He walked up to a reflective surface and dusted his hands before combing through his thick black hair.

" Now when word gets out about this it'll be an embarrassment. " She continued to massage her forehead in frustration.

'We can't afford to give them a reason to attack with my forces stretched so thin' her mind fought on wether or not she should kill him or not. She pushed these thoughts to the side and looked over at the bar.

Lucy stared at her intently.

She smirked. " What do you see?"

Lucy gave a succinct response.

" Nothing."

The lady in red nodded before turning around and trailing her fingers behind her.

" Get your things from Adam's cab. "

As she walked passed Adam who held his head down below his hands she paused to look down to him.

His heavy frame quivering made minute ronations with the surrounding surfaces.

" As for you Adam. I hope you learn from this experience. I've told you these gifts are not all powerful. "

" Yes Madam M."

" Good. Now help the girl with her bags. And come upstairs. " Adam did his best to try and shuffle out of the booth quickly much to everyone's amusement.

Outside near Adam's vehicle.

"Who or what was that?" I stared at the bullet hole in the glass window being covered with tape by Suzie. She seemed to be rather fine after the incident which made me feel as though this was not her first time.

I decided to reflect on my actions and experiences today.

' I was too impulsive. This isn't Italia anymore..Guns are not longer used to make threats and demands. In this land of the free even the meagerest of strangers could be lined to the teeth. And a gun to a gun is duel…'

However there were other things of the forefront of my mind and most I could not find a logical answer to.

' How did Domino fix his leg and dissasemble my firearm?'

' What did this ' Jack person do to cause such a grave injury. '

' Why are some many individuals with the Pomo D'Adamo..?'

I looked over towards Adam but it wasn't hard to see he was in even less of a mood to chit chat than before but he still reluctantly answered as he pulled my luggage out of the car.

" You dont have to say it for me to know what you're thinking. Just come upstairs and ask the boss. Its nearly 3:30. So we'll continue our little tour at a later date. "

He turned away and did not say another word as he entered the restaurant.
