Chapter 104

With that, Carnage appeared beneath the ship. Quickly catching himself, Carnage shot forward, running through the temporal zone and towards the speedster. As he ran, he slowly transformed into his uniform. Due to the uniform changing to fit his current form, he didn't have to transform it into his Carnage form for it to work. His long silver hair slowly turned black, his yellow eyes turning red, and some of his skin started peeling off. His cloth became black and ragged, with his red lightning turning black. Carnage let out a deep breath causing a cloud of black smoke to come out of his gas mask.

Carnage's speed increased dramatically in his new form, and the space between him and the other speedster rapidly decreased. Far ahead of him, a female ran. She is a teenager with ivory-white skin, green eyes, and red shoulder-length hair. She has a green lightning bolt birthmark vertical across her right eye and wore a skintight pine green Spandex with dull orange trim in the shape of zig-zags and thunderbolts.

While running, she suddenly felt her entire body go cold. Just as she was about to look behind, she felt a cold hand grab her neck. All her speed rapidly started leaving her, and soon enough, she lost connection to the speed force, blacking out.

'Well, that was easy.' Carnage thought, looking at the limp female body he was holding. 'I thought it would be harder. What a shame.'

Throwing her over his shoulder, he turned around and back to the Traveler. When he reached the Traveler, he was teleported within the bridge. It was located at the front of the ship, right below the navigation room. The bridge is a wide octagon room, with the center of the room having an octagon console.

[Welcome back, Operator] Xerah said as a cracked holographic hexahedron that emits radio wave-like ripples as he speaks appeared above the console.

"Wake her." Carnage said, standing behind the chair the girl was strapped to. He could send her into the speed force to finish his mission, but he had something to do first.

The chair released a shock which waked the girl up. She quietly looked around, stopping to inspect Xerah.

"Answer all my questions, and you will be set free." Carnage said from behind her, his voice horse and rough voice. The girl stayed silent, so Carnage continued. "What is your mission?" Carnage decided to ask the question he already knows the answer to.

The Bridge was silent, the girl not saying a word. Carnage sighed, knowing he wouldn't get any answer from her. "Extract her memories." Carnage said, folding his arms. This was one of the secret functions of the Traveler, the ability to extract your memories as long as you are within the ship.

Before she could react, multiple wires came out of the chair, sticking themselves on the girl's head. Her body went limp as the console where Xerah was in his holographic form changed to show her memories in the form of a movie. The memories movie moved by quickly, allowing him to watch the 16 years of her life in 16 seconds.

From the memories, he got the gist of the future. First, the Justice League started killing those who they deemed irredeemable. Flash is dead, and Kid Flash took his place as Flash. There are new superheroes groups called Young Justice. The Young Justices are the younger apprentice of the Justice League, but they don't kill.

A new anti-hero organization called the X-Force grew from those scared of the new type of superheroes. This girl is tasked to kill Superman before he comes to Earth. From their calculation killing, Superman will stop superheroes from being corrupted. What Carnage was confused about is where he was in the future. Through her memories, he was never mentioned. Not even once.

Like Schrodinger's cat, he doesn't know if he is dead or alive.

Carnage stood still, wondering what happened to him in the future. What would cause him to be unknown? With his ability, they should at least be one mention of him. He thought for a while before deciding to push it to the back of his mind. There is nothing he can do about the future. All he has to do is get as strong as possible before the time of his disappearance comes.

"Take me to the navigation room." Carnage said, immediately appearing in front of the navigation chair in the navigation room. Sitting down, Carnage said. He looked at the energy left for the ship, seeing it was still at 98%. "Travel 2 years in the future. Right before Krypton is destroyed."

His plan wasn't to kill Superman but to capture as much Kryptonian as he can right before the planet explodes with the star. They were going to die, there was no chance he was going to change the timeline. With their long exposure to the red star, they won't have their superhuman abilities, so the ship prison should be able to hold them until he eats them.

The Traveler shot through the temporal zone before exiting above planet Krypton, right as Superman's parents sent him away from the planet. The ship was already in cloaking mode, so it silently landed on the planet.

"I will be coming back with 100 or more Kryptonian, so when I get close to the Traveler, teleport then to the prison room." Carnage said, watching the red star about to implode. If he wasn't still in his work form, which gives him pseudo immortal, he wouldn't dear do such a risky thing.

[I will be ready]

"Good. And make sure you release your strongest sleeping gas on them. Now, send me out." Carnage appeared outside the ship just as the star went supernova.

Time slowed and Carnage transformed into a hulking beast. He then went around the planet picking out Kryptonian he would use for his research and later eat. Due to his huge form, he easily carried 117 adult Kryptonians before running back to the ship. He could have taken more, but greed wasn't the best emotion right now as a star is about to turn into a black hole. Xerah was ready and immediately teleported the Kriptonins to a big prison cell, releasing sleeping gas into the cell, while teleporting Carnage to the Navigation room.

"Hyperspeed! Get the fuck out of here!" Carnage shouted, looking out the windshield at the supernova.

The flaps of the Traveler opened up, quickly turning to face the opposite direction of the supernova. With a bright glow, the Traveler shot forward, entering and exiting hyperspace moments later in an empty place in space. Inside the navigation room, Carnage sat on the navigation chair, letting out a long sigh. He managed to pull it off without changing much to the timeline. The speed force shouldn't be mad about it, right? He wasn't reckless.

"Navigation." Carnage said, appearing in the bridge room. Carnage walked up to the limp girl, knocking her out. "Release her." With that, all the seat belts holding her to the chair and all the wires connected to her went back into the chair.

[Operator, your prisoners have awakened]

'Of course, they will awaken this quick. They are still Kryptonian even without the enhancement of the yellow sun.' Carnage thought, looked over to Xerah, "Keep using the sleeping gas."

Flinging the girl over his shoulder, Carnage entered the speed force. Like always, he appeared within the asylum room no more holding the girl. His appearance transformed back to the one of Impulse, losing all the enhancement that came with it.

"You know you can send them in without having to come yourself?" A voice came from behind him.

Turning around, Carnage saw the speed force, in the form of Barry, walking into the room. "Oh? I will be doing that from now on. Well, I will be leaving now."

To his surprise, he was allowed to leave without the speed force stopping or commenting on what he just did. This means, as long as he makes little to no change to the timeline, all should be good. Knowing this, a smile appeared on Carnage's face as he appeared in the navigation room of the Traveler.

"Take me to the prison. Time to feast."
