His Playful Side

I walk to my lab this morning and I check last night report Unfortunately, my results are so disappointing so that I have to repeat it today.

Even though I slept very late last nigh, I am ready to work in the morning morning. I start to prepare all the materials and the reagents that I need for today's work.

Inside my head, I am bothering with question: will Alex come and work with in the lab today? I think my question last night was hurting him.

Unexpectedly, Alex is entering the lab. He walks slowly. Just like a like a normal human, who is too tired to work. He looks sleepy, to be honest.

I looks at him and curl my lips into the happiest smile. Actually, I do that to pretend that, there was nothing wrong with my question last night. "Good morning. I think you need a lot of coffee today!" I hope my tone sound happy.

"Hmm..." Alex says weakly.

"You didn't sleep well last night? Is your bed too narrow for the four of you?" I tries to sound casually when I implies his night activity with his wives. Which, let me say it out loud. I DO NOT CARE. I AM NOT JEALOUS.

Vampires are immortal beings, even so, they still have to eat by consuming human blood and rest by sleeping. Vampires can consume the blood of other animals, but in the long term, they will turn wild and crazy, even their bodies will also change if they do not consume human blood.

Their ears will become pointed, their fangs will grow, long claws will grow on their feet and hands and overall they will become like giant bats. When their form changes like this, they are called the regressors and they will attack anyone, even fellow vampires.

Currently, with the human population decreasing, the number of regressors is increasing and the vampires are trying to control the population of the regressors by hunting them down.

Sleep is also important for vampires, especially those that are thousands of years old. Without sleep a vampire's cognitive abilities will decline drastically, just like humans who are exhausted. In addition, sleep will also suppress all the memories that the vampires have.

With eternal life, vampires have many memories and different from humans, memories and all memories both the good and the worst will continue to stick in their minds. Sleep is the only way they suppress those memories.

Another thing about vampires, they also have sexual intercourse with other vampires or even humans. As I know, from the sexual intercourse, it is impossible to get pregnant.

Sexual intercourse between vampires and humans will usually end with the human being bitten by the vampire, injured, or even death because vampires are often unable to control themselves during sexual intercourse.

Humans who are bitten by vampires will experience a painful death unless they transform into vampires.

Alex looks at me in disbelief and tried to keep his temper cool, "it seems you've met my wives," he says casually and sits down on one of the lab benches.

"I've met Ayako. A very friendly woman," I says casually but I hope he can notice sarcasm tone in my voice.

"Wait until you meet Bellinda and Cynthia. Bellinda is from Spain and she will greet you with Latin American hospitality," Alex says coldly.

I can see him rolling his eyes, I guess he is fully understood that his wives are not possibly be friendly to humans.

"And Cynthia, she was from England, I am sure you two will be friends," Alex says in a very cynical and full of sarcasm manner.

From the tone of his voice, I get the the impression that Alex didn't really like his wives at all. Somehow, this fact really raise my mood today.

I smile a little and then walk over to Alex. "This is the formula I'm going to try today," I say in a friendly tone than before. Why I sound friendlier? Do I try to allure him? I am not sure!

Alex reads the formula carefully and smiles, "Why did you omit the albumin in this formula? Albumin is a protein that is the main building block of blood."

I smile at back at him, "Because, sometimes when something is lost, it's not really gone, it's just the shape that changes."

We work all day on the lab that day. I take a very short break for lunch so I can join him again on the lab.

It is about 8 pm when Alex stares at me, "you should have dinner first. You only had a small sandwich for lunch." He sounds worried, "I don't want you get sick."

I smile at him, "do you want to go for a dinner with me?"

Alex lifts his face from the microscope and smile, "did you just ask me to go to the dinner with you?"

I nod, "yeah... A colleague?"

He smiles playfully, "I am your boss."

I grin, "as a staff and the boss."

He looks at my face and smiles, "I know a very good place. But you need to bring your own dinner?"

I look at him, a little bit confused, "you wouldn't kill someone in front of me, would you?"

He smiles, "no.... of course not! Umh.... I'll bring my dinner too... I will see you in the main entrance in ten minutes." And then, Alex walks out from the lab.

I leave the lab immediately and bring something from the kitchen that I can eat later. I am so excited and Alex sound so playful.

Ten minutes later, I meet him in the main entrance.

He grins, "climb to my back." He lows his body so I can climb him.

I stare at him confused, "what?"

"Hurry up!" he says impatiently.

I climb to his back carefully. I can feel his cold body.

"Hold me tight!" He instructs me and I do what he said.

And then he uses his superhuman speed and run.
