Alex's brows furrowed slightly as he stared at his reflection through the glass.
'This… is me?' He mumbled inwardly, lightly touching his reflection with his fingertips.
Although he felt something had changed within him when he woke up, he didn't expect it to be this much.
His formerly rough and faded black hair was now sleek and curly, cascading gracefully down his neck.
His skin had also turned a shade darker for some reason, taking on a bronze complexion.
He was now a lot taller, standing at about 190cm, unlike before when his height was just around 175cm.
His body had also gotten a lot muscular, compared to his formerly frail and malnourished body.
It wasn't so that his body was overly large and bulky, as all the muscles were perfectly compacted, and well-chiselled.
His face was also insanely handsome, with smooth skin and a well-chiselled jawline.
His only feature that somewhat retrained its former appearance was his eyes, which was still pitch black.
However, the most shocking transformation was his face.
All the scars on his face, the very ones that earned him the moniker "Scarred king", had healed completely, leaving no traces that they'd ever been present.
He didn't know why, but seeing his face without scars felt quite weird, especially the thick one which previously ran across his face.
He had always considered those scars as a 'part of him', a remembrance of the pain and suffering he went through as a slave.
A drive for him to get stronger and get his revenge on the world, however… they were all gone now.
"Hahaha!" A loud laugh suddenly echoed from the other side of the glass, jolting him out of his thoughts.
Alex's brows furrowed in confusion, as he turned to Port'hov, who kept laughing in excitement.
"Don't you know Alex, you shouldn't take your eyes off your opponents." The man muttered, gently rubbing his chin with a wide grin on his face.
He paused for a second, gently rubbing a small red button on the arm of his chair.
"It's a pity, that I have to kill you. But don't worry, your death will help in finalising my dreams!" He shouted, abruptly pressing the button with one of his fingers.
Alex's brows furrowed slightly at his words, however, even after a few seconds, nothing happened.
"Huh? Is that… it?" He mumbled, turning his eyes back to Port'hov.
"Just wait… for your death." The man said, his lips curling into a sinister grin.
Sizzz!
Suddenly a loud hiss echoed within Alex's head, and he immediately grabbed his head in confusion.
Growl!
"What… the hell?" He mumbled, letting out a loud growl in annoyance.
Boom!!
A powerful explosion abruptly went off within his head, the flames exploding out of his eyes and ears.
"Hehe. That serves you right, goodbye… stupid prince." Port'hov said, chuckling loudly to himself.
Growl!
His joy was cut short when a loud snarl suddenly reverberated from the other side of the glass, causing his eyes to widen in shock.
'Don't tell me… he's still alive?!!' He thought, gnashing his teeth. 'N-no… that's no possible…'
Before the experiment started, he had planted a small amount of gas in the middle of their brains.
Whenever he pressed the red button, the gas would react, blowing their brains out.
The gas was created by he himself, It was meant to be a last resort in case any of them got too difficult to control.
It was supposed to kill them… so why, how was he still alive?!
A pair of bright red eyes slowly lit up from within the smoke, sending chills down his spine.
"I-impossible… y-your h-head should be blown into… pieces… why… are you still alive?!" Port'hov shouted, the calm expression on his face rapidly crumbling into terror.
After a few seconds, the smoke finally cleared, revealing the figure of Alex standing within it, completely unharmed.
"How dare you…?" Alex muttered, in a voice that sounded more like a growl than words.
'Damn it…' He thought, gritting his teeth in frustration.
He could still feel the loud bang from the explosion ringing inside his head, which only infuriated him further.
'I let down my guard.' He thought, clenching his hands into a fist.
He never expected himself to survive that explosion, and the fact that he was still alive was a shock to him even.
When the explosion first went off, he thought he was dead. During that moment, he felt fear… at thought that he was going to die without accomplishing anything he wanted to do.
To be honest, he didn't feel as much pain as he had expected. After all, an explosion literally detonated in his head, yet, all he felt was an annoying headache.
Nonetheless, he could feel a burning hot sensation rising up from his chest as he stared at the man.
It was rage… anger at the fact that such a cowardly attack almost killed him.
Alex looked back at the glass separating them for a split second, before clenching his right hand into a fist.
"I-it's pointless… y-you can't b-break it." Port'hov muttered, his body trembling in fear. "The glass… is u-unbreakable."
Alex simply ignored him, swinging his fist towards the large glass with immense force.
Bam!
Shatter!!
The punch connected with the glass in an instant, shattering it with a loud bang.
Whoosh!
"W-what… a-are yo—" Port'hov was barely able to complete his words, when Alex suddenly vanished from his sight.
Bam!
In the next second, he felt a powerful force lift him from the chair before slamming his body into the wall behind him.
"Argh!!" He grunted in pain, as his back was suddenly slammed into the wall, creating a small dent on its surface.
"Kukh!" He groaned, as Alex tightly gripped his neck, pinning him to the wall. Blood slowly trailed from the corner of his lips, and he could feel his breath rapidly leaving him.
"Y-you…" His body trembled in fear as he looked into the pair of glowing red eyes staring at him.
"S-sir Port'hov! L-let… him go!" The green hair woman who was beside him shouted, dashing straight for Alex.
"Shut up." Alex muttered, swiftly swinging his other hand towards her.
Bwoosh!
What followed was a powerful shockwave, which blasted towards the woman at terrifying speed.
Bam!
The shockwave struck the woman within a split second, sending her flying through the air.
Crack!
Her body slammed into the wall at the other end of the room, creating a massive dent on its surface.
Drip!
Drip!
Her body immediately went still, with a thick red liquid gushing out of her head. The blood trickled down her body, rapidly forming a small pool beneath her.
Plop!
After a few seconds, her body slowly slid to the ground, completely motionless.
Port'hov's eyes widened in horror as he stared at the bloodied body of the woman lying across him.
He didn't need anyone to tell him… she was dead.
"N-no… Qer'sa…" He mumbled, his body trembling in fear.
"H-how c—"
Rip!
He wasn't able to complete his words, when Alex suddenly swung his claws at his head, ripping his head into pieces.
Blitz!
However, rather than blood and brain matter, a couple of thin wires abruptly bursted out of the split pieces, with electric sparks dancing all over them.
"A clone… I knew it." Alex muttered, his brows furrowing into a frown.
