Well, that was unexpected...

Shanks and Alex looked at each other and smiled. They both ran at the marines while picking up whatever weapons they could find lying around.

Alex picked up a plank and Shanks found another sword.

The two charged at the marines side by side.

Alex smashed a marine over the head with a plank and he fell down into the water while Shanks slashed a marines chest. It wasn't a deep cut but it put him out of the fight.

Alex turned to Shanks. "Have you ever killed anyone?"

Shanks shook his head. "No."

Alex smiled pridefully. "Pussy~."

Shanks looked at Alex in shock. "Have you?"

Alex laughed as he smacked another marine's hat right off his head. "Yup! I stabbed him right in the neck!"

Shanks clicked his tongue and started trying to kill the marines. He was stopped by a golden hand that tried to slap him.

Shanks was tackled to the ground by Alex before the hand could hit him. The two rolled before looking up and realizing they were surrounded by a group of marines.

They two looked at each other and a sweatdrop formed on Alex's face. "We might just be fucked."

Shanks nodded.

Then the two laughed. They sprung to their feet and started attacking the marines. Each taking out 2-3 three before being tackled to the ground.

The duo struggled and eventually Shanks kicked the marine off of him before tackling the marine who was pinning Alex down.

The two looked around, their path back to their ships were blocked by dozens of marines, the only direction they could run was further into enemy lines.

So they did!

The two boys ran into the marines' ship, bonking and slashing any marines unfortunate enough to meet them. Alex guided them towards the helm. When they reached their destination, Alex bonked the marine manning the helm over the head and kicked him to the side.

Shanks giggled as he spun the helm as far as he could.

"Now we just gotta lift the anchor!" Shanks said with a smile as the duo ran around the ship, searching for the anchor.

Sparks flew and gunshots rang as the duo ran around the boat together. The marines were starting to lose the battle and quickly.

Alex finally spotted the anchor and brought Shanks over.

The two started raising the anchor by themselves.

The marines suddenly felt the ground beneath them shift as their boat began to slowly spin in a circle.

Sengoku looked back and saw the two kids hoisting the anchor. "You brats!!!"

Alex and Shanks giggled like kids as they ran along the deck of the boat towards their own ships.

They reached the railing and were about to jump over onto Roger's ship when Shanks was caught by Sengoku.

Alex froze momentarily before turning around and jumping at Sengoku, sending a kick flying at his face.

Sengoku caught his foot and threw him backwards into a wall. "Marines! Retreat! Get back on the ship!"

Shanks flailed his arms and kicked his legs, trying everything he possibly could to get away from Sengoku… but the latter was an admiral, he stood no chance.

The marine's ship had already begun to sail away, getting a massive head start on the pirates ships, it was also a faster ship, so the pirates had no hope of catching up.

Alex crawled back to his feet and started scratching the back of his neck furiously as his mind raced.

After a few minutes he had drawn blood. He took a deep breath and sighed. He only saw one way out of this situation that didn't end up with them in jail or as slaves.

He turned to face someone. "Uncle Garp! Can we join the marines?"

Garp looked down at the little 13 year old. "Bwahahaha! I knew you'd come around!"

Alex smiled at him. "You know me! A real warrior of justice!"

Garp laughed and slapped his back, nearly dislocating Alex's shoulder.

Shanks caught on and stopped flailing around. "Me too! Me too! I want to hunt pirates too!"

Garp laughed. "I'm such a great role model! Look how many new marines I'm bringing in! And they're pretty strong too!"

A couple marines on the ground groaned. These kids were more than pretty strong! They took out at least half a dozen marines each!

Sengoku sighed. "Garp, they're pirates, you can't just make them marines. They're going to jail."

Garp laughed. "Sure I can!" He slapped a cap on both Shanks and Alex. "See? Now they're marines!"

Sengoku sighed again. "Fine, but you're taking care of them… and responsibility for them."

Garp just laughed in response.

Alex looked up at his white cap and chuckled wryly. "Well, this was unexpected."

A week later.

The ship arrived back at marineford. The injured marines received treatment on the ship so most were already fine but a few of them still needed to stay in the hospital on the island.

Sengoku had forced Shanks and Alex to apologize to every marine they injured. All the ones Alex hurt forgave him easily as they were just knocked out and were fine after a day's rest, but Shanks… he gave at least 6 marines brand new scars… Some of them took a while to forgive the poor kid.

Anyway!

As soon as they reached land, Garp grabbed the two kids and dragged them through the city. They were waving behind them as they took in the view. They were within the heart of the enemy's base… Alex thanked the stars that they knew Garp, otherwise they would be royally fucked.

Like, straight to Impel Down or Mary Geoise fucked.

The trio eventually reached their destination. Garp threw the kids into his house before walking in himself.

Shanks and Alex landed face first on the tile floors before skidding to a stop.

Someone in a green cloak peeked his head out. "Who are you?"

Alex got off the ground and dusted his clothes off. "I'm Alex, nice to meet you."

The young adult in the cloak grunted. "Dragon." Before walking away.
