Chapter 289: Meeting the Siblings

"Master Yonji!" The crew on the snail started to call.

The blonde who looked like a female version of Sanji, made an impressive jump onto their ship.

"Greetings, Strawhats" She waved at them.

"Wow, she looks so much alike!" Nami stared in awe.

"Of course I do. Sanji is my little brother after all. My name is Reige Vinsmoke, by the way. No need to introduce yourself. I already know about you all…Nami the navigator, Zoro the swordman, Franky the shipwreck and Vivi the former princess of Arabasta."

"Oh, you know about us? You must be a bit fan then." Franky got closer.

"You know, I can show you aro-"

Frakny's attempt at flirting was thankfully interrupted by a blasting sound next to their ship.

"Reige, how dare you shame me like this!" Yonji had propelled himself out of the ocean and into the air.

"Silence Yonji!. And I don't need to shame you. You are doing a great job by yourself." Reige shouted back at him.

"Huh? is he floating in the air?" Nami noticed that Yonji was hovering over the waters. 

"That looks like a technological device that uses air as a means of propulsion…fascinating!." Franky observed.

"Our family has a few gadgets like these. Our father thinks badly of devil fruits and its users. He prefers to use technology advances instead." Explained Reiju.

Yonji landed on the rails of the ship and looked at them with anger.

"So, this Vinsmoke family is really related to the shitty cook," Zoro spoke.

"We are related to Sanji." Confirmed Reiju.

"I must say thank you for taking care of my little brother all this time."

"So you are the older sister then." Said Nami.

She nodded. "He left us at a very young age and we have been looking for him since then. Two years ago, a poster featuring a portrait somewhat resembling him began to circulate. Our father sent the marine H.Q after him but it seems like the man in the portrait was a different person."

"Yeah, that was probably that guy, Duval…no wonder he was so angry." Said Franky.

"Recently, when with your recent activities, we finally received word from the Government that they managed to acquire an accurate picture of him. Immediately after seeing that it was him, father raised his bounty and changed the conditions to 'only alive' in order to protect him."

"So that's why his bounty was like that." Realized Nami.

"So, where is he now? is he aboard this ship?" Asked Zoro.

"No, I'm afraid I do not know for sure. He could be with Big Mom already or perhaps with our father." Was Reige answer.

"Oh… that's too bad." Nami lamented.

"May I ask…why did you come here?. You are aware he is getting married into the family of a Sea Emperor, yeah?" She asked.

Nami was about to say something when Vivi gave her a gesture to wait.

"We just came here as Sanjis friends, not as members of the Strawhats pirates. As you can see, even our Captain is not here. We are just here to see our good friend getting married, that's all."

"I understand….then we have no reason for stopping you." Said Reiju.

"Hold on a minute, Sister. They are obviously lying! We need to-"

"Enough!" Reige shouted at him at the same time she released a cloud of poison that surrounded him completely. 

"You will do nothing!" She shouted.

"But-" Yonji was about to rebuke when he noticed how serious she looked. 

"If we make a scene here, our bother weeding could be called off. That would greatly anger our father and you don't want that, right?"

Yonji nodded quickly.

"Right…"

"Then…" She looked at them with a smile.

"We can pretend we saw nothing."

"That sounds good to us, Thank you" Added Nami.

"Are we close to Big Mom Island?" Asked Franky.

Range nodded and pointed in one direction.

"Just continue that way and you will reach the first island of Totto Land. There is a big port to leave your ship there."

"Thank you so much!" Nami told Reiju

"No problem….I wish you good luck"

Reiju and Yonji went back to their ship and the giant snail moved out of their way, allowing them to pass.

"Sanji's family seems nice. At least his sister." Commented Nami.

"I wonder why he never talked about them…" Wondered Franky,

"That woman...was frightened the whole time she had been on the ship." Zoro glanced at Vivi.

"What, really?. I didn't notice." Exclaimed Nami.

"What was she scared of?...us?." Asked Franky.

"Ask her…" Zoro said while looking at Vivi.

"What did you do?"

Vivi stared back. "That Reiju must have good senses."

"Sister!, tell me the truth now. Why did you stop me like that before?. We could have at least given them a warning so they don't try anything troublesome before the wedding."

Yonji demanded an explanation after waiting for the Strawhats to leave.

"I had to stop you before you got yourself killed…and maybe the rest of us."

"What are you talking about?" Asked Yonji.

Reiju was looking down at the water from the balcony. She then pulled a piece of string and flung it into the ocean before pulling something out.

"What's that?" Yonji examined the object his sister had pulled out. It looked like a short spear made of a crystalline material.

"Is that ice?!"

"It looks like ice…but is not cold at all, how strange," Reiju said.

"Did Vivi make that?" Yonji asked. They have a lot of information about the Strawhats and know about Vivi's water abilities. They also know that after their two years of disappearance, Vivi was now able to create weapons made of ice by using the water inside her own body. 

"There are thousands of these, all around us. I can feel the traces of her aura in them. I don't know exactly when she created them, but she had us surrounded long before I stepped into their ship."

Yonji looked horrified.

"Thousands of these…could the latest rumors we heard be true then?"

They have very recently received intel about some of the events that occurred at Dressrosa. Part of the report talked about Vivi killing Admiral Kizaru and that she did that by awakening her devil fruit and gaining control of the seas.

They weren't sure how accurate these reports could be as they sounded ridiculous. After all, a devil fruit that could allow the user to control the sea, the weakness of all devil fruits, sounded too bizarre to be real, not to mention killing a Marine Admiral.

"It does seem like the reports were not exaggerating… we must warn Father about this. I don't think that wedding is going to happen after all." Reiju muttered.
