Forbidden Will.

As I opened my eyes, I double checked to see if I did. That was because all I could see was darkness, for miles to come.

My mind raced for a mile a minute, trying to get to the bottom of this. Why I was in a void like place, floating nakedly.

That's when I remembered what happened to me.

I remembered leaving my college class, bored as ever. The new One Piece spoilers on Twitter dropped so I tried my best to not look, trying to not spoil myself.

I left campus and headed home, wanting to walk home today and not call an Uber. The next part hurts me to remember.

I walked on the crossroad and all of a sudden, I got hit by a truck. I immediately was knocked out and now I woke up in this creepy void.

So, was I dead? Is this what awaited all humans when they eventually kicked the bucket. Do they stay here until they lose their mind, becoming the husk of a human they once were.

It was a depressing pill to swallow. I wanted to keep some hope but what could possibly happen? All I wanted was to do something. Have all those college classes meant nothing? Was it just a waste of time as I waste my last remaining months with sleepless nights full of studying?

But then, I heard a booming voice. It filled my ears and before this, I would have been irritated by this loud noise. Now, I was happy for at least something being here.

"What is it that you seek, mortal", A voice said. That's when I saw it. Color. Something materialized right in front of me. It was a goddess. To say she was beautiful was an understatement. She was by all means, the gorgeous things I ever laid eyes on.

That's when I processed her question. What was it that I sought after? It was pretty simple. A life where I could do what I want whenever I wanted.

" I want a new life. A life almost guaranteed for greatness", I answered the stunning Goddess's question. She smiled at this, before answering.

"I just looked into your inner most desires. You have a fondness for a piece of literature named "One Piece". Would you like it if you perhaps, reincarnated into that world?", the Goddess questioned me.

I was left shocked. Reincarnating into my favorite piece of fiction, One Piece? That sounded like a dream. Traveling around the sea, having fun. I could even join the Straw Hats!

"Yes Please", I spurted out. It was a no brainier. It was also where better than the fun I'm having in the void.

"You said you wanted almost guaranteed success. I have a proposal for you. Would you like to inherit a pirate's will. Do you know what a will is?"

A will in One Piece? It hasn't been that delved into but examples were Luffy inheriting Roger's will, Sabo inheriting Ace's will and Yamato inheriting Oden's will. I kept silent though, as the Goddess explained what it was.

"It meant inheriting someone's ambitions. In some rare cases though, There are talents that come with it, like the pirate's will I'm about to give you", the Goddess explained.

I can't wait to inherit the will! I was going to get some talents that come along with my will. Who was I going to get? Was it going to be Joyboy's, Ryuma's , Whitebeard's or Roger's. There just so many great pirates and figures in the One Piece world, both past and present.

"You will inherit the will of the failed Conqueror, Rocks D Xebec.", the Goddess continued, name dropping the will I was going to inherit.

Rocks D Xebec! What a powerful will to inherit. I guess my ambition is going to be the King Of The World! I guess joining the Straw Hats ain't going to happen.That's when I remembered about the other thing the Goddess said.

"So, my dream now is to be King Of The World. What talents am I now going to poesess?", I asked the Goddess. I just know it's going to be good.

The Goddess was now laughing at enthusiasm." You will now have an aptitude and talent in Conquerors Haki, the most rare and powerful of all three Haki types.", the Goddess told me.

I get confirmed Conquerors Haki and a talent in it! This Goddess is a gift that keeps on giving. The Goddess wasn't done though. She wanted to ask me one more thing.

"I'm feeling extra generous today, darling. I would also like to give you one more wish", the mystical being said, blessing me again.

A wish? I had to think long and hard about it. I already had Conquerors Haki. I need something that would boost my strength and my long term potential.

I decided I was going to wish for a devil fruit. Which Devil Fruit did I want to eat though was the question? I only get one Devil Fruit so I had to pick one that would separate me from the rest.

"Can I use my wish and get the Yami Yami No Mi", I finally decided and told the Goddess.

The Yami Yami No Mi was a strong devil fruit. It could negate other devil fruits and could also manipulate gravity. If used at it's maxed potential, It would surely be useful to me.

The Goddess snapped her fingers."Your wish is granted. Hope you find what you are looking for in this new life", she said her last words to me.

The darkness around him began to shift, swirl, and change. He felt himself being pulled towards a new world, one that he had only ever read about in books and watched on screen.

I woke up, in the cave. I began to remember everything, the void, the goddess,the will and the wish. I then looked in front of me. The thing I wished for, the Yami Yami No Mi was there for the taking,

I grabbed it immediately, and scarfed it down. It was horrendous but at least I had my power. I noticed something too. Something mental.

There was a deep desire in me. A thirst that was nowhere near getting quenched.

The desire to conquer.
