A few kilometers away, Kaido's senses detected something. Turning his head sharply, he saw the tiny figure of the Sunny sinking into the sea. Rayleigh and Dragon observed this and seemed to freeze, staring in that direction for a long time, not looking away. They exchanged glances, and their eyes showed joy. Kaido was beyond help! Their plan had worked!

As for the companions of the Straw Hat crew, they were either dead, hidden by Tesoro, or trapped under the ruins with no chance of escape. Dragon didn't need to spend much effort or time on them.

"I didn't expect it, Kaido. Luffy got away," Rayleigh said, clutching his waist and abdomen with one hand and supporting Dragon with the other. Despite his injuries, he laughed in surprise.

"Luffy... He'll keep getting stronger until he can beat you," Dragon said with relief. 

"Ah, absolutely. He is my proudest disciple," Rayleigh laughed.

Then the two spoke in unison, "Come, Kaido, let's buy Luffy more time."

They thought Kaido would immediately erupt in anger and launch a ferocious attack. Perhaps in those last few seconds, he could take them down and send them to the underworld. But after coating, the boat sailing in the sea is much faster than on the surface. Kaido couldn't catch up anymore! Luffy was alive! That was enough! 

While they were happy and relieved, the next moment their faces changed dramatically. They saw Kaido slowly turn his head, his dragon eyes filled with ridicule, and a mocking grin on his lips.

"Oh wow, did you two misunderstand something?" Kaido asked. "Do you think I've failed? Or do you think the straw hat just dying would be that easy? Dragon, your plan was already within my expectations. I even thought I wouldn't need to use my plan, but you helped me."

Kaido, in his dragon form, started laughing, holding his abdomen. The laughter almost brought tears to his eyes. To him, these two were just clowns who had accidentally furthered his plans.

"What do you mean? What did you do, Kaido?" Rayleigh questioned, feeling uneasy. The situation wasn't as smooth as they thought. Kaido even said they helped him—wouldn't that hurt Luffy?

"Did you tamper with the coating?" Dragon asked, frowning and staring at Kaido.

"That kind of trick isn't interesting," Kaido replied with a mocking smile. Watching them grow more anxious and panicked made him happier. "To be honest, I wasn't entirely sure I would leave the Straw Hat on Sabaody Island. The Mera-Mera Fruit was just bait for Sabo, but I caught a bigger fish." He glanced at Dragon, indicating that he was the unexpected big catch.

"There are too many variables, like if he wasn't so stubborn, didn't know, or was persuaded by his crew. There are many possibilities. So how do I get the Straw Hat, who went to the sea, to return to Sabaody Island obediently?" 

He looked at Rayleigh and Dragon with a mocking smile, waiting for their answers. Kaido seemed to enjoy posing problems for others, a remnant of his teaching days.

Dark King Rayleigh's back was already cold. His Adam's apple was stuck in the middle and squirmed a few times. His pupils trembled under the round lenses. Slowly, he said, "You have an ambush on Fish-Man Island?!"

Dragon was silent, and his only remaining right fist was clenched tightly. His heart hurt as if it was dripping blood. He had actually sent Luffy to another dangerous place!

"You don't know about Fish-Man Island. How did that guy from Morgans do it..." Kaido muttered with raised eyebrows. Fish-Man Island had been pulled ashore by him yesterday with such big news. Why didn't the bird report it today? 

What Kaido didn't know was that Morgans had already written the manuscript. However, he expected something bigger to happen today. He was ready to play a big game so that the next issue of the newspaper would all be printed with Kaido's deeds alone! It would be written as a column. Morgans could imagine the embarrassment of a news bird flying off without anything big to report.
