Chiba glanced at Jinbei, then turned to Magellan with a smile. "Director Magellan, you have quite a collection of interesting people on this sixth floor. This is the first time I've seen a Fish-Man up close."

Magellan chuckled knowingly. "Master Chiba, are you thinking of studying Jinbei as well?"

Chiba nodded. "Indeed. Director Magellan, would you allow it?"

Magellan smirked. "As long as you don't leave the sixth floor, Master Chiba, you can do as you please."

"Thank you, Director Magellan. A small token of appreciation for your cooperation." Chiba handed over a bottle of medicinal liquid.

This solution was made by dissolving a Foundation Establishment Pill in water, making it a potent restorative. While it wasn't the full strength of the pill, it was still incredibly valuable—especially to someone like Magellan.

"Thank you, Master Chiba," Magellan said with a grin, gratefully accepting the gift.

Chiba then approached Jinbei, scalpel in hand. Jinbei watched him warily. "What… exactly do you plan to do?"

Chiba smiled calmly. "Oh, nothing too serious. Just a little… 'donation'—a bit of bone, some muscle, maybe a few organs."

Without waiting for a response, Chiba made several precise cuts, carefully taking small samples from Jinbei's organs. He then administered the diluted Foundation Establishment Pill solution to ensure Jinbei's wounds would heal and his strength wouldn't falter.

Watching this, Magellan's eyes twitched. "This man… he's a mad scientist!" He shuddered. "I'll make sure never to let this lunatic study me!"

Despite the pain, Jinbei endured silently, groaning at times but refusing to cry out. His resilience was truly admirable.

But his relief was short-lived, as he thought to himself, "This might just mean I'm in for more suffering…"

To his surprise, however, Chiba placed a hand on his head, channeling true energy to open up Jinbei's meridians. With the Foundation Establishment Pill enhancing his recovery, Jinbei's body quickly adapted, and the meridians healed almost instantly.

As the energy flowed, Jinbei realized this was a completely new cultivation technique. "Is… is he actually teaching me a new skill?" Jinbei was shocked. From what he'd heard, Chiba was a 'legendary Marine.' But why would he help him?

"Is this because of Ace?" Jinbei pondered. Whatever the reason, he recognized that this technique was far more advanced than his previous methods. As he practiced, he discovered he could absorb the water vapor around him, refine it into his body, and even form a small, translucent water serpent within himself.

As he continued, the serpent grew larger, his aura becoming stronger. If he could reach the third level of this technique, he might even be able to break out of Impel Down and escape with Ace.

"Could it be that Chiba is preparing me to assist Ace?" Jinbei thought, becoming even more motivated to master the True Black Water Method.

Meanwhile, Chiba's curiosity was far from sated. The sixth floor of Impel Down was home to a number of infamous prisoners—ideal subjects for his "research."

One name in particular caught his attention: Sir Crocodile, also known as "Mr. 0." A powerful Logia user with the Sand-Sand Fruit, Crocodile was as formidable on land as Jinbei was at sea. In a battle, Crocodile could use his sand powers to his advantage, making him nearly unbeatable on solid ground.

If Chiba could master both the power of the sea and the land, he would be invincible. Even if he someday turned against the Celestial Dragons, he would have the means to defend himself.

With a plan forming in his mind, Chiba approached Magellan. "Director Magellan, I hear there's a man named Sir Crocodile here on the sixth floor. Could you take me to him?"

Magellan smirked. "Ah, that one? Yes, he's here. Follow me."

Chiba discreetly handed him another bottle of medicinal solution. Magellan accepted it with a grin, leading Chiba to Crocodile's cell.

Inside, Crocodile lay restrained by seastone shackles. He didn't even open his eyes as Magellan approached. In response, Magellan kicked him hard, sending Crocodile crashing to the ground.

"Stop playing dead and get up!" Magellan barked, clearly less respectful of Crocodile than he was of Ace.

Crocodile opened his eyes, glaring at Magellan. "You dog… when I get out of here, I'll kill you."

Magellan sneered. "With what? You're never leaving this place."

He turned to Chiba. "Master Chiba, this is Crocodile, user of the Sand-Sand Fruit."

"Release his shackles. I want to study his fruit abilities," Chiba said.

Magellan hesitated, recalling the havoc Crocodile could wreak with his sand powers. "Are you sure, Master Chiba? His powers could cause serious damage…"

"Impel Down isn't entirely built with seastone, is it? And I'm here. Do you really think he'll escape?" Chiba reassured him, offering yet another medicinal solution as incentive.

Satisfied, Magellan gestured to a jailer, who approached and unlocked Crocodile's restraints.

The moment his shackles fell away, Crocodile grinned darkly, his hand transforming into a blade of sand. In an instant, he sliced through the jailer, draining his moisture until only a dried husk remained.

"Ahhh… freedom at last! You fools don't know what you've done." Crocodile smirked, his gaze shifting towards Magellan.

Sensing danger, Magellan prepared to attack, but before he could react, Chiba moved like lightning, appearing in front of Crocodile. He pulled his arm back, enveloping his fist in pitch-black Armament Haki, and struck Crocodile with devastating force.

Crocodile barely had time to react, his body failing to fully turn into sand. The punch connected, sending him flying across the cell and smashing into the stone wall. When he finally stopped, a dark bruise ringed his left eye, and he looked up, dazed and furious.

"Damn it… my Logia powers didn't protect me?" Crocodile muttered, stunned. "Just how strong is his Armament Haki?"

Magellan, too, was shocked. He knew that Armament Haki could counter Logia users, but he hadn't expected Chiba's mastery to be this overwhelming.

Chiba smirked, tauntingly. "Oh, Miss Crocodile, don't be so grumpy."

Crocodile's eyes flashed with rage. "What did you just call me?"

"I heard you were once a woman, but then you underwent… changes. Is that true, Miss Crocodile?" Chiba teased with a mocking grin.

"You're courting death!" Crocodile roared, unleashing a wave of sand toward Chiba.

With a flicker of movement, Chiba dodged and delivered another powerful punch, this time to Crocodile's other eye, leaving him looking like a bruised panda.

Crocodile, now utterly humiliated, went berserk, pouring all his energy into his sand powers.
