Race

The casino was as extravagant as it could get. The walls were covered in gold and even the red carpet seemed expensive. And they stuck out like a sore thumb in the casino with their bright dresses.

"To get you started, we'll be lending the three of you twenty thousand berries worth of chips," Baccarat said as she revealed the contents of the case. "Make sure to not hold back."

"Thank you-" before Imai could finish giving Baccarat her gratitude, Rei had run off with the case with Uta beside her. "*Sigh* Sorry about that and thank you."

Baccarat chuckled, "Don't worry about it. Make sure to have fun, enjoy!"

With that being said, Imai caught up to the two to see what they were doing. However, she froze when she saw something unexpected, something that was only said in stories.

"They're real…" Imai muttered, glancing at the women who were dressed in bunny outfits. She felt a strange urge to talk to them but help back to see what the two were doing.

The Turtle Shuttle Race, a race between people using the cars that were lent to them, and whoever reached the finish line first would win a hundred thousand berries. The best way to start it off was to start with a bang!

Miraculously, Imai was persuaded by the two to join the two in the car. The problem was the fact that Rei was driving and judging by the grin on her face, she was going to do more than just go straight.

Imai prayed that they wouldn't go off course.

"Everyone! Get ready for the annual Turtle Race! Hot Shell!" the announcer said as a bunny girl with torches in her hand appeared before them.

"Do you hear that Rei? You better not fool around. If we win, we'll make up to ten times our investment and maybe even more." Imai said.

"Of course, captain. But it doesn't seem like this race was going to be a fair race." Rei said.

"That's true. There are multiple people surrounding us with strange weapons in their hands, they could try to throw us off later in the race." Uta said.

"Then we'll defend the car while Rei focuses on driving. We need to win no matter what, it would bring shame upon us if we lost our first ever bet." Imai said.

"Time to focus."

"On your mark! Get ready! And go!" The bunny girl yelled as she swung the torches down.

Imai was struggling to keep her umbrella from being broken due to the strong breeze that was blowing past them.

Rei stepped on the gas pedal even harder as she downshifted into second gear and quickly accelerated forward. Unexpectedly, Rei was an exceptional driver, and easily gained first place.

Rei glanced at the side mirror and noticed a girl with a large needle speeding up towards them. She knew what was going to happen if she got too close.

"Hold on everyone!" Rei exclaimed.

In front of them was a sharp corner, she took this chance to downshift back into first gear, and cleared the corner in the quickest way possible before accelerating out of it. She glanced at the side mirror and grinned.

The needle lady was falling behind them due to their poor cornering and driving skills.

"Haha! Losers!" Rei yelled, feeling the adrenaline flow through her body.

"Wow! You're amazing, Rei! I didn't know you could drive this well, but I could probably do it better, and cooler." Uta said in which Rei replied with a scoff.

"I have to give it to you, Rei. I'm impressed." Imai said with a proud smile on her face.

Rei glanced at Imai's face for a second and felt a warm feeling in her cheeks. She smiled cheekily at the acknowledgement and felt like she could soar through the world in a second.

"Of course, before I was a pirate, I was a mechanic." Rei said with a smile that didn't reach her ears.

Imai understood the meaning and was about to say something when a car was suddenly above them. She glanced up and noticed a man smiling with a gun in his hand.

Without thinking, Imai used the bottom of the umbrella and redirected the trajectory of the bullet away from them which surprised the man.

However, this action caused them to be in second place, and right behind the man who had shot them.

"Rei, we're going to absolutely destroy everyone in this race. When we win, whoever is in second place won't even be close to where we are." Imai said, her devilish side showing.

"Yes, captain!" Rei exclaimed with a grin.

"I'll assist you." Uta added.

"Well umbrella, it's been nice having you around, but I can't carry you all the time. So goodbye." Imai muttered as she aimed the umbrella at the car.

She threw it with absurd strength and the umbrella zipped through the air, and perfectly hit the tires of their car causing them to spin out.

"Nice!" Rei exclaimed.

"That was amazing!" Uta cheered.

"I know, I know." Imai replied.

With this, they were back into first place. And the course was getting more and more absurd. They drove through plenty of corners, soared through the sky, and even went through a spiral.

They definitely weren't just going straight, the course had plenty of surprises when they least expected it. The three could say that this was the craziest race they've ever been to.

And thanks to Rei's superior driving skills and Imai's superior aim that had delayed their competitors from even being close to them. Uta's effort was also acknowledged since her eyesight was abnormal.

She called out where the enemies were and told Imai exactly where to aim to delay them. Everyone's skills were helpful in this race. If only the others hadn't used a dirty trick on them first, everything would've been fine, and they would've played fair.

But they didn't.

So in return, they won the race by a landslide, and had successfully achieved their first victory in the casino.

They had earned themselves a whopping one hundred thousand berries profit.
