Chapter 2 - Weird Fruit

Lepus walked through the forest. However, even though it has been walking for few hours, Lepus has yet to find a village or any human habitation.

"Hah... I'm tired. I'll take a break."

Because he had just walked for hours, apart from being tired, Lepus also felt thirsty again and his stomach started to growl expecting food.

"I'm hungry.... I wish there were edible fruits around here."

After resting for about 30 minutes, Lepus resumed walking through the forest.

A few hours later, the sky seemed to be starting to twilight.

Lepus found a large tree and he decided to make it a place to spend the night.

Lepus then looked for twigs and dry leaves around the big tree to make a bonfire. In addition, because not far from the big tree there is a small river, Lepus also looking for some dry and hard stones the size of a fist which will later be substituted for matches.

And because it was almost time for dinner, Lepus also made a simple spear made of wood branch that was large enough, straight, sturdy, and strong to try to spear fish in the river.

"Hah! Not for nothing that I've read books and watch videos about survival skills. Hahahaha!"

After the spear was finished, Lepus started spearing for fish. Although it was quite difficult at first, in the end Lepus managed to get 3 fishes which were enough for his dinner. While in the river, he also cleans the outer scales and innards of the fish he catches.

"Alright. The main course is here, now it's time for dessert."

Luckily, there are some edible forest fruit trees nearby, so Lepus shouldn't have to worry about finding them.

"Apple, Strawberry, Blackberry, Blueberry, Pear, Kiwi, ... Hm? What fruit is this?"

While looking through some of the fruit trees, Lepus found a tree whose fruit he did not recognize or had ever seen before.

The fruit is round, with dark red skin, and measures about 10 cm in diameter.

Out of curiosity, Lepus plucked a fruit from the tree and then bit it.

"...Hm? This is pretty good too. The skin is thin like an apple, but the flesh is soft and tastes like dragon fruit. I'll take some."

Intrigued by the strange fruit, Lepus intends to pick some more to eat later.

But, just as Lepus was about to pick one of those dark red-looking fruits..., something surprising happened!

"Hm!? W-What!? Why is this fruit moving!?"

The fruit moves by itself!

And then another strange phenomenon happened to the fruit!

"Huh!? Now changing color!?"

The fruit that moves, this time changes its skin color. The skin of the fruit that was previously dark red, slowly turned dark purple!

Seeing the strange phenomenon that happened to this fruit, Lepus became curious.

"What's exactly happened? And how did this happen? Even though the fruit I ate earlier was fine, and the other fruits on this tree also looked normal."

Moments later, another phenomenon occurred that Lepus will probably never forget for the rest of his life.
