Next day.

Leo and bolt were sitting under the Giant Tree, looking at the fruit inside the treasure chest.

"What is it?" Bolt asked with impatience. He couldn't understand why Leo was so excited, how great this thing could be? After all, it was just a fruit, the maximum it could do was taste great.

"It is one of the greatest treasures of our world, it is called the 'Devil Fruit'. If you eat this you will gain a superpower." Leo answered in an excited tone.

"What do you mean by a superpower?" Bolt asked in confusion.

"In simplest words superpower means, magic, like shooting flames through hands, flying like a bird, turning invisible." Leo tried to explain in a way that he could understand.

Bolt started laughing. "Stop it, Leo. Do you think I am gullible as Blacky? Things like magic only exist in stories."

Leo sighed. He could understand Bolt, if he was unaware of the devil fruits he would have had the same reaction.

"I know it is difficult to believe, but I am telling truth here." Leo opened the palms of his hands to show that he was being honest.

Even though he trusted Leo, this thing was too ridiculous to believe. "Let's suppose you are telling the truth. How do you know all this?"

"You know how I recover rapidly, and how strong my senses are, that are my superpowers. Besides these I also have another superpower about which I didn't tell you, that is sometimes I see the future. From one of those visions I got the information about devil fruits." In the future, Leo was going to use his knowledge of the One Piece world, so instead of making up the reason each time, he decided to make this superpower. A lie to end all lies.

Hearing this Bolt started laughing loudly. "You are killing me. Hahahha… Power of seeing the future. Hahahaha… You are taking it too far. Hahahaha…" He laughed so hard that he had to hold onto his stomach.

Leo sighed helplessly, he couldn't think of anything else to make him believe. When Bolt stopped laughing, Leo took the devil fruit and handed it to him. "Eat it, and then you will understand everything."

"No way, I am going to eat this. This thing looks so strange, what if it is poisonous?" He hurriedly put back the fruit inside the treasure chest.

"Don't worry. Forget about the superpower, at least I can guarantee that this fruit is not harmful, only thing is this tastes bad." Leo assured him and handed the fruit back to him.

"Are you sure?" Bolt was still doubtful.

"Hundred percent," Bolt said firmly. "And keep in mind, you have to eat this completely, without wasting anything," Leo warned seriously. Even though it was explained in the manga that a single bite was enough to get the power, Leo just didn't want to take any risk.

Seeing Leo's expression Bolt decided to eat. He took a deep breath, and then took a bite. "Ahhh…" It tasted so bad that he almost wanted to vomit. But when he saw Leo urging to keep eating, he reluctantly gulped down.

As there was no other option than eating, he ate the fruit speedily. He wanted to finish it as soon as possible, the taste was unbearable.

When the fruit was completely eaten, Bolt yelled with a cringed face. "Disgusting!"

Seeing his bitter expression Leo smiled and asked, "How do you feel?"

"What do you mean by how do I feel?" He saw Leo smiling. "I knew you this was a pra - " Bolt sopped midway, strange information suddenly popped into his mind.

"What is this?" Bolt was confused. He looked at Leo and thought, "Had he been telling the truth?"

Seeing Bolt's expression Leo knew that he received the basic information about the devil fruit.

"Why don't you try your power?" Leo asked excitedly.

Bolt still didn't completely believe the information in his mind, but the sudden appearance of information, itself was magical. So he decided to try according to the information in his mind. He looked around, and then he saw a leaf falling near them. He focused on it and thought of decreasing its falling speed. Leaf slowed down and in the end, it stopped completely, as if time was stopped for it.

"Holy fuck!!" Bolt jumped back in shock, his mouth remained open for a long time. He couldn't believe what he had just done. He looked at Leo with a shocked expression.

"I told you," Leo said smugly.

Suddenly Bolt hugged Leo, and with a crying voice he said, "Thank you!" He was on the verge of crying. Now he knew how exactly precious this thing was, nobody would willingly give this to others, they would use it for themselves, but Leo gave it to him.

Leo freed himself from the hug. "Why are you getting so emotional?"

With a crying face, Bolt asked, "Why didn't you use for yourself?"

"I already have a superpower, so I thought it would be better for you to have it," Leo said casually.

Even though Leo was acting as if it wasn't a big deal, Bolt knew it wasn't that simple. Nobody would complain about having more superpowers. He thought only a true friend could make such a sacrifice. His trust in Leo increased even further. "Anyway, I am grateful that you gave it to me."

Bolt's eyes made Leo guilty. He thought inwardly, "Don't look at me like that, I am not so great. Only because the system restricted me from using the devil fruit, I gave it to you, or else I would have used it long ago."

Now Bolt believed that Leo possessed powers. "So you also ate the devil fruit?"

"No, I got powers from something else."

Bolt believed him. "If there is a devil fruit to give powers, there must be other things in this world which could do the same," he thought inwardly.

Leo looked at the leaf, which seemed as if frozen in time. "Are you still using your power?"

"No, I stopped using long ago."

"Then how come it isn't falling?" This made Leo think deeply, he remembered Shiki the Golden Lion, also known as the 'Flying Pirate', from the One Piece movie 'Strong World'. Once Shiki makes something float, it will stay that way until either he undoes it or he loses consciousness. "Is Bolt's power similar to Shiki?"

"Bolt, can you tell me about the information you received from the devil fruit?"

"Name of this devil fruit is 'Sokudo Sokudo no Mi' [EN: Velocity-Velocity Fruit], it lets me control the speed and direction of the object." Bolt told him excitedly.

"Controlling the speed and direction. Mmm…" He started thinking about the applications of this power, and then he found so many that he was shocked. "Damn… This is overpowered." Leo was even more excited than Bolt, who still didn't understand how ridiculous his power was.

From what Bolt told him, Leo understood the basic format of his power. To be sure what exactly the power of this devil fruit was, Leo started experimenting with Bolt's power.

After experimentation for the whole day, he found the following results.

[Bolt's power only worked on non-living things, except himself.]

[For now, the range of his power was the area of three meters radius with Bolt as the center.]

[Range doesn't matter if he is touching something, his power worked irrespective of the object's size.]

[Heavier the object, larger the energy consumption.]

[When the object is in his range or he is in contact with it, once he specifies the speed for that object, it remains in that speed without extra energy consumption.]

[For now, the maximum speed he could impart to the object was almost half the bullet's speed.]

[Controlling the solid object was easier than fluids.]

It was a little sad fact that he couldn't use his power on living things, except himself. But even with this restriction, his power was overpowered.

In his range, Bolt's power practically can be called telekinesis. Leo couldn't help but remember the scene from the 'Guardians of the Galaxy', where Yondu massacred with whistle-controlled 'Yaka Arrow', that was the most badass scene.

Bolt was far from achieving what Yondu could do. First, his control over his power was very poor, when he tried to move the object while keeping it in his range, most of the time it flew out of his range, and sometimes he even got hit by it. Second, his range was too short. Third, and most important, it will be difficult to find a weapon similar to Yondu possessed.

In terms of technology, the One Piece world was very strange, sometimes it appears to be futuristic, and sometimes very backward. Anyway, it doesn't matter if they didn't find such a weapon, this was just one of the applications of his power.

"Now you understood how awesome your power is, but there is one thing I didn't tell you, the price of using this power is, you will not be able to swim."

"Not able to swim?" Bolt did not understand completely.

"It means you will become a hammer in the seawater, you will become motionless, and then the only result would be drowning," Leo explained seriously.

Initially, Bolt was shocked when he understood the price of the power, as the sea was an inseparable part of their life, not having the ability to swim was a very huge disadvantage, but when he thought more he calmed down. The price he paid was nothing compared to what he gained. "It doesn't matter. I have received such amazing power, just at the price of not being able to swim. I am more than okay with this," Bolt said smilingly.

Seeing how easily Bolt accepted this, Leo felt relieved.

When they were returning home, Leo told Bolt to keep quiet about his power from everyone, and Bolt agreed with it. It didn't matter to him if he hid his power or not, as Leo asked him to keep quiet, he will keep quiet.
