Training

The next day, Bolt and Leo woke up at four in the morning. Four to seven was their physical training time.

"Leo, can I skip the physical training? I want to start training in my devil fruit power." Bolt couldn't wait to use his power.

"No." Leo threw water all over his excitement. "Devil fruit power is amazing, but never underestimate our body. Many people in this world can defeat devil fruit users with just their bodies, and some are even counted amongst the strongest of this world. So training our body is very important." He explained seriously.

Bolt understood what he was trying to say, it's just that he got his power just yesterday, so he very much wanted to use his power. But seeing how firm Leo was, he reluctantly started his physical training.

At seven Leo started explaining the training plan for the devil fruit power.

Your first training will be called telekinesis. In this, we will start with the basic training that will let you familiarize yourself with the power.

Leo picked up a small stone from the ground and gave it to Bolt. "Keep this stone fixed in the air, just as what you did with the leaf yesterday."

"Ohh. That is easy." Bolt put that stone in the air as if he was putting it on some solid surface. After he released the stone, it remained fixed in the air in between them. When he was done with it a proud smile crept onto his face.

"Good." Leo was satisfied with this. "Now you have to give speed to it, but - " Before Leo could speed complete his sentence, Bolt, who was eager to try his power already sped it up.

The speed given to the object by Bolt was progressive. Take an example of this stone, its speed will increase from zero to the speed he wanted. Even though the time required for this process was very short, less than a second, still it wasn't instantaneous.

As soon as Bolt started using his power, Leo's second brain calculated the stone's approximate final speed, and the direction in which it will be going, its final destination was his left chest. "Fuck!" He immediately took an action to move out of its way.

Thankfully his second brain was fast enough to warn. Stone sped past Leo almost touching him.

"Are you trying to kill me?" Bolt was a little angry.

"Sorry. Sorry." Bolt approached Leo worriedly. "Are you okay?" He was scared and embarrassed. He wasn't scared because Leo was angry, but he was scared thinking what would have happened if that stone hit him.

Leo knew it was a mistake, as Bolt didn't have much control over his power, so his anger was just a reflex emotion. Seeing how scared Bolt was, Leo felt sorry for him. "It's okay, I am fine, don't worry." He calmed him. "But from onwards, let me finish what I have to say."

"Okay." Bolt nodded obediently.

Leo handed him another similar stone, Bolt put it in the air between them.

"Now move it slowly."

Bolt didn't want to make the same mistake again so he asked, "How slowly?"

Leo looked around, then he spotted an ant near them. "Do you see that ant?" He pointed at it.

"Yes."

"Now feel its speed."

Leo let him take his time.

"Have you grasped its speed?"

"Yes." Bolt nodded.

"At that exact speed, you have to keep moving this stone in your range. Can you do that?"

"Yes, of course," Bolt replied. "But how long do I have to keep this up?"

"For two hours, and this training you will be doing every day, with increasing the speed of the stone little by little each day, until you reach your limit. Are you okay with this?"

"Yes." Bolt nodded in agreement.

"Now I will explain the second thing you will be training in."

At almost a hundred meters from the Giant Tree, there was a ten feet tall boulder. Leo walked towards it, and Bolt followed him. After reaching the boulder, with chalk, Leo drew a circle of roughly fifteen centimeters diameter on it.

"As you can throw objects at the high speed, it is important for you to have a good aim. If you can't hit your opponent, then it doesn't matter how fast you can throw. So your next training will be aiming."

"You have to hit in this circle from the ten meters of distance. As you are just going to train your aim, you don't have to use your power, at least until your aim is good enough. This training is also for two hours."

"Do you have any problem with this training?"

"No."

"Okay then. Your third training is while using your power on yourself you have to complete all the exercises you do for physical training."

Before Leo could ask Bolt said, "I am okay with this."

"Good. That's everything. The remaining time you can use however you want."

After this Bolt started his training, and Leo also focused on his training.

There was nothing new to Leo's training. Saitama sensei's workout was enough for him. The only thing he had to do was keep on increasing gravity.

It's been a year and two months since Leo and Bolt started training.

Leo opened the system screen to check how much of his Haki improved.

--------------------------------------------------------

[Haki]

Armament Haki: [0.01] --> [0.17]

Observation Haki: [0.01] --> [0.17]

Conqueror's Haki: [0.913] --> [0.949]

--------------------------------------------------------

As he continued to train, his Haki was also improving because of [Limitless], but it was improving very slow, as he wasn't particularly training in it. He mostly checked Haki stats for Conqueror's Haki, as it was very close to awakening. He was looking forward to the day when he would start using it.

Compared to others in the One Piece world Leo's body was too weak, so for now he only focused on his body.

His training time [Gravity] was at [4], and normal time [Gravity] was at [2]. Now his range of domain was twenty meters.

After three months.

Bolt reached his limit in telekinesis. His limiting speed in telekinesis was far slower than the maximum speed he could impart. At the higher speeds, his mind couldn't react fast enough to change direction.

He could do telekinesis only at a single particular speed. Changing both speed and directions at the same time was difficult for him, whenever he tried doing it he lost control over the stone.

His aim improved nicely, from ten meters his hitting success rate was eighty percent.

When they were heading for the training, Bolt saw Leo holding a notebook, feather pen, and ink bottle, seeing this he was confused. "Why are you bringing these to the training?"

"These are for your training," Leo replied.

Bolt was even more confused, "How could these help in training?"

"I will tell you after the physical training."

Seeing Leo wasn't going to explain further, Bolt stopped asking.

After physical training, Leo started explaining the next training. He handed Bolt a notebook, feather pen, and ink bottle.

"As you have reached your limit, we will advance to the next part of telekinesis training. In the first part, you have familiarized yourself with your power, and in the next part you will learn control."

"Without control, you will never be able to use your power to its full potential. So having control over your power is very important."

Bolt also knew that his control over his power was poor. He wanted to improve it, but he couldn't think of anything by which he could improve it, so he was glad that the next training was for exactly what he wanted. But one thing he couldn't understand was how these writing tools going to help in this.

"Next part of your training is to learn writing."

"Ahhh… learn writing?" Bolt was totally confused, he couldn't understand what writing has got to do with controlling his power. He thought for a moment and then he understood, "Leo must've thought, I don't know how to write, so he wanted me to learn it. That must be it, right?"

"Leo, I already know how to write. My dad even praises me for my beautiful handwriting," Bolt said proudly.

Leo smiled and said, "Not with your hand, you have to write telekinetically."

"Ohh… That's what you were trying to say." Bolt now understood, and then he thought, "It couldn't be that hard, right?"

Bolt put the notebook on the ground and opened it. He moved the feather pen telekinetically to the notebook, as soon as it touched the page, it tore a hole through it.

Seeing this Leo started laughing.

Bolt's face turned red in embarrassment when he heard Leo laughing. "That was just a mistake, let me try again."

But the result was the same, Bolt couldn't face the laughing Leo, his face turned even redder.

"Now you know your level. Can you start with this training?"

"Yes." Leo nodded while looking down.

"Don't start directly from writing letters. The first step will be drawing different shapes, like circles, triangles, squares, rectangles, different lines, and anything else you can think of, just like how we were taught drawing before writing. Do you get it?"

"Yes, but how long do I have to do it?" Bolt asked, he didn't like this training.

"You will be training daily in this until you can write beautifully enough for your dad to praise," Leo said with a mischievous smile.

"Ahhh…" Bolt felt like crying. "Why I was so smug to tell him about my beautiful writing? He regretted." He could write beautifully, but only he knew how much he had gone through to achieve that. Learning from his dad was an almost traumatic experience for him. Just looking at the notebook would return him to that painful times. So he was very reluctant to do this training.

"Leo, don't you have any other kind of thing? I am okay with anything, but this," Bolt asked with an almost crying face.

"No, you will train in this from now on, that's final." Leo's tone was firm.

"Ahhh..." Bolt really wanted to cry.

After five months.

As usual, Leo purchased a newspaper from the News Coo.

Leo sat in the chair in their front garden. The scent of flowers freshened him up, and the morning sunlight relieved him from the cold winter.

Leo opened the newspaper. The big headline on the front page immediately caught his eyes. After a long time, finally, he could read the news that was familiar to him.

"Newly crowned empress of the Kuja, Boa Hancock, also known as the 'Pirate Empress', joins Shichibukai."

There was a real-life photo of Boa Hancock, she looked too beautiful. Words weren't enough to describe her beauty. The beauty shown in the anime was nothing compared to what he was seeing, she was captivating, and her cold demeanor was provoking.

Leo's heart started beating uncontrollably, his second brain immediately warned him of the strange reactions happening in his body.

Leo closed his eyes and shook his head to get away from that hypnotic image. He took deep breaths and tried to calm himself. "Self-control… Self-control….." He repeated in the mind.

"Fuck that was dangerous, his heart was almost stolen by her." For erasing the photo from his mind, he immediately left to do some harsh training.
