Omniscient Tower Ranker

For the past 10 years, I had worked hard on my dream, a game that I poured my blood, sweat, and tears into it. Now, my dream had finally become a reality. And I mean it REALLY became a reality as when I woke up that morning, a familiar screen was in front of my face, a screen that I had seen so many times in the past 10 years when I had beta tested my own game. [Welcome to the "Tutorial" of the Tower, please enter a nickname for the player. Warning! The player will carry this nickname for the remainder of their stay in the tower.] "What.... the.... FUCK!" ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The cover is temporary until the commissioned cover is done. Release Rate: Check the schedule Chapter Length: 1000 - 2000 words per chapter. My chapters are edited by myself, so forgive me if I make any mistakes. Just comment if there is a mistake anywhere. (Author's Note: I started writing this series due to the fact that I just wanted to pay a tribute to web novels about climbing a tower, as they are some of the ones that have influenced me the most. I first dove into the world of web novels and manwha when I read Tower of God which was the first manwha I had ever read. I then read web novels like Second Life Ranker, The Novel's Extra, and The World After the End, which are all novels I really love and highly recommend. Well anyways, enjoy my interpretation of the "Tower" genre of web novels.) Second Beginning (3) - 43

Seeing his fast reflexes, it was obvious that he has invested all his stats into Perception and Agility.

"Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, what do I do?"

As he quickly barreled towards me, I just decided to take the lazy way out, I mean, what was the point of doing anything excessive? It was always easier to choose the path of least resistance.

'(B) Ranked Skill - Shockwave.' (A/N: I'll make my characters think the name of the skill, but shouting it is too chunni.)

It was as if time froze, a pulse of energy rapidly expanded in a sphere from my position, throwing the barbarian into the air, then back and into the wall, his head hitting first.

Hearing the satisfying sound of his neck breaking, I smiled.

'Seems like he spent too much stat points on agility and perception, neglecting HP and Stamina.'

'And it was extremely useful to spend all the TC's I had earned in my previous trials on that school, the "Sharpshooter Hoodlum" was correct.'

[The "Sharpshooter Hoodlum" smiles down on you.]

That was the last thing I saw, before the black light engulfed me, and I found myself back on the chair in the cubicle.

"Tick... Tick... Tick..."

[Ding! Congratulations to Player "GFishe" for clearing the third floor trial, please wait as the gods vote on the trial that will be held on the 4th floor...]

During this time, I spent all the extra stat points that I earned on perception.

'Don't know why all the first generation players saved their stat points, I mean, just become as strong as possible, so you don't need trump cards, it's that easy.'

I already had an idea of what type of player I wanted to be, and had formed a basic stat point distribution plan after watching all the first generation players, so I just distributed my stat points according to that plan.

"Tick... Tick... Tick..."

[The trial for the 4th floor has been decided, teleporting the Player to the setting of the Fourth Floor Trial.]

...

Opening my eyes, I was surprised to see natural light.

Well, it wasn't really natural light due to the fact that we were inside a tower, but the tower had replicated that sun on this floor, and it was about midday right now.

Looking around, I noticed that I was in a small town, in the town square actually.

In front of my was a simple looking fountain that spanned the area of a few tens of meters, and around the edge of the fountain was several other players, we numbered a round 10 in total.

"Hey do you gu..." Asked a friendly voice, before they was interrupted by a system notification.

[Ding, everyone, welcome to the Fourth Floor of the Tutorial Tower!]

[400 different gods are watching your group.]

[Congratulations! You are the most watched channel in all the tutorial towers!]

[Your fame has increased!]

[The "Scaly King" looks down on his chosen one.]

[The "Lotus Princess" looks down on her chosen one.]

[The "Old Lightning One" looks at you guys hungrily.]

[The "Despicable Dog" licks his lips in anticipation.]

[The "Blood Bathing Demon" starts getting into his bath.]

[All the gods watching are expecting a bloody fight.]

[Many gods have promised TC's and sponsorships to those with a great performance.]

[Some gods have commenced betting on the players below.]

[The odds of surviving to the odds of death are being shown:

"GFishe" - 20:1

"Lacida" - 15:1

"Mekkle" - 1:3

"Tauros22" - 1:7

"Lemington" - 50:3

"ToastedBao" - 17:1

"WaysToSurvive" - 3:10 (Get the Reference?)

"Why" - 2:21

"SickoMode" - 36:1

"MellyBeat" - 1:1]

[Would you like to bet on yourself?]

I clicked the "Yes" button and bet all my money on surviving, even though the odds probably wouldn't earn me that much money. I mean, I was going to die anyways if it went the other way, right? So who cares?

'My odds are probably high due to some of the gods seeing my performance in the other trials, well, what can I say?'

You see, my overall style through this whole experience climbing the tower had been one of a slacker, doing the least amount of work possible whilst always looking cool, with a bored, but also calm expression on my face at all times.

I had adopted this image, because I knew the gods were a sucker for this type of thing, after watching the first generation, so I knew they would give me more coins.

Now, all I had to do was survive the upcoming trial.

[Trial: Mafia

Objective: Survive

Difficulty: ???

Rewards: 10 Extra Stat Points

Punishment for Failure: Death]

[These are the rules for the trial:

1. This trial is based off a classic party game called "Mafia"

2. In your group of 10, there will be one "Mafia", one "Sheriff", and one "Doctor" while the rest of you are normal "Townspeople". The "Mafia", "Sheriff", and "Doctor" are also considered "Townspeople".

3. Each day, you will all go around the town performing tasks with another player, before retiring to your assigned homes for the night (you will be forcefully teleported if you don't go).

4. During the night, the "Doctor" will secretly go with a "Townsperson" to their house, whilst the "Mafia" will kill one "Townsperson".

5. If the "Doctor" is in the house of the "Townsperson" being murdered, then they will be able to save that "Townsperson".

6. In the morning, the "Sheriff" can secretly choose a "Townsperson" to face execution.

7. If the "Townsperson" that is executed is the "Mafia" then the "Townspeople" win.

8. If the "Mafia" is able to kill all the "Townspeople", they win.

9. As each "Townsperson" is killed, their reward will be distributed among the remaining survivors at the end, when the trial is over.

10. Finally, the last rule, DON'T BE AFRAID OF DYING! Have fun!]

The list of rules suddenly shattered into particles of blew light.

This was how the greatest nightmares of our lives began.

A/N: So, for you old readers, there was really only one major change that I made during the proofreads, other than fixing plot holes and making all the grammar and spelling perfect. The major change was that I changed Worthy's name to "Little Hope", so now, when I write about "Little Hope" it's about the assassin teenager who has the Kamaitachi as her pet.

Also, I just wanted to say thank you all for sticking with me through the transition to "Omniscient Tower Ranker", I really appreciate y'all for doing so, and if you're mad, please blame it all on Alekzi!

I'm back!!!!!

Sorry for the late upload...

Thanks for reading!
