Omniscient Tower Ranker

For the past 10 years, I had worked hard on my dream, a game that I poured my blood, sweat, and tears into it. Now, my dream had finally become a reality. And I mean it REALLY became a reality as when I woke up that morning, a familiar screen was in front of my face, a screen that I had seen so many times in the past 10 years when I had beta tested my own game. [Welcome to the "Tutorial" of the Tower, please enter a nickname for the player. Warning! The player will carry this nickname for the remainder of their stay in the tower.] "What.... the.... FUCK!" ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The cover is temporary until the commissioned cover is done. Release Rate: Check the schedule Chapter Length: 1000 - 2000 words per chapter. My chapters are edited by myself, so forgive me if I make any mistakes. Just comment if there is a mistake anywhere. (Author's Note: I started writing this series due to the fact that I just wanted to pay a tribute to web novels about climbing a tower, as they are some of the ones that have influenced me the most. I first dove into the world of web novels and manwha when I read Tower of God which was the first manwha I had ever read. I then read web novels like Second Life Ranker, The Novel's Extra, and The World After the End, which are all novels I really love and highly recommend. Well anyways, enjoy my interpretation of the "Tower" genre of web novels.) Auxiliary Chapter (1) - 25

(A/N: So I'm making this auxiliary chapter because one of my friends complained about not understanding some things, so I'm writing this to clear up any misunderstandings about stats, positions, and other miscellaneous stuff. Also, this chapter is meant to be read as the 25 chapter and not the first one, and it is also a good chapter to read, even if you think you know about all of this stuff already, as I haven't explained the positions in detail in the novel yet so I'll explain them here, so because of this, I won't be explaining the positions later in the novel, so you can just skip the "stats" section if you already know them, but she should definitely read the "positions" section.)

Stats:

Stats are the fundamental ingredients of a player in the Tower of Ordeals. They are often influenced heavily by your job, position, and/or race.

Strength: A fundamental stat. Strength just raises the average strength of a player and also bulks them up. The strength stat also lightly affects the speed of a player.

Stamina: This stat increases the amount of work that you have to do before you get tired. This stat also affects how tough your skin is and how much punishment your body and mind are able to endure.

Agility: This stat heavily increases your speed and nimbleness when performing tough movement. It also is able to increase your reflexes and affects hiding or concealing skills.

Mana: This stat affects the amount of "mana" that you can use, which is the most important thing if you wan't to use skills in the tower. This stat affects that power and amount of times that you can use a skill.

Hp: Simply put, this is how much health you have. This stat will also affect your healing speed, so the higher the stat, the faster you heal.

Perception: This stat increases your 5 senses, making them stronger, letting you figure out your opponents location without actively seeing them. It is basically a stat that give you a "6th" sense.

Intelligence: This is basically a stat that affects your mental capability. This stat affects how many skills you can use and how many times you can use them. This stat is also extremely important in learning how to silent cast, double cast, and triple cast.

(A/N: The MC already knows how to silent cast.)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Positions and Jobs:

A position is a role that a person will take in a fight, and a position is chosen in the beginning when a person creates their player. A job is a specific type of occupation inside a position, so like how "beginner swordsman" is a vanguard type job or how a "beginner mage" is a support type job.

***All the effects and skills are only applicable after the end of the Tutorial Tower.***

Vanguard: Vanguards are the damage dealers and tanks in a fight, in charge of the battle and responsible for dragging out a fight whilst distracting the opponents. They are always fighting on the frontlines while the other positions help them. They often have both a high offense and a high defense, but lack in speed.

Effect: +1 Stamina for every Stamina stat point put in.

Sniper: They are the long range damage dealers in a fight, fighting with bows and guns (Although, guns won't be introduced until the 60th floors). They often have low Hp, but they have high offensive capabilities.

Effect: +1 Perception for every Perception stat point put in.

Support: They are the supporters in the entire fight, helping whatever position that needs help. They can be wizards, priests, trap-masters, scouts, etc. depending on what stats they invest in. They can also become life-style players, becoming blacksmiths or cooks.

Effect: +1 Intelligence for every Intelligence stat point put in.

Assassin: They are the DPS dealers that attack from the shadows, relying on quick, precise attacks to kill their opponents. Their offensive capabilities are actually pretty weak, but the amount of attacks that they can make in a time period certainly makes up for it. They are also often very good at hiding from monsters and are often the only survivors in group wipes.

Effect: +1 Agility for every Agility stat point put in.

Berserker: Berserkers are the soloists that don't rely on anybody else. They mostly rely on their strength to crush their enemies and often carry huge weapons due to this. Their high strength and stamina stats make them one man armies.

Effect: +1 Strength for every Strength stat point put in.

*Spy: A new position/job that was created when a coward that doesn't like directly fighting was given the choice to combine two classes.

Passive Skill - Ambush: When the player attack someone who doesn't expect it, their damage increases by 200%

Passive Skill - Stealth: Player is mostly uunnoticible unless someone is directly looking for them and they are able to blend into their environment and shadows seamlessly.

Active Skill - Precision: Player is able to enter a 3 minute time window where all of their shots will hit the target and where all of their stabs will hit vital points. (30 minute cooldown)

Effect: +1 Agility and +1 Perception for every Perception or Agility stat put in

(A/N: I've changed the spy position to be a hybrid of both a position and job.)

Races:

Your race determines your identity for the rest of your life, often causing you to side with either good or evil and often affecting your everyday decision making. It will also affect your social and love lives, influencing who you hang out with and who you go out with.

***All the effects and skills are only applicable after the end of the Tutorial Tower.***

Humans were the all-rounders, being equally weak and strong and given the option to choose between all positions. They were also able to use all elemental magic, but most people were only compatible with one or two types of magic, and a smaller amount of people could use holy magic, which was crucial when fighting players from the demon race.

Race Skill - Morality: Human players aren't forced to side with evil or good, they are allowed to choose.

Beastman had better strength, perception, and stamina stats, specializing in close quarters combat, but were prone to becoming to unreliable from their instinctual desires. They were given the option to be either vanguard or berserker. Beastmen were most compatible with earth magic.

Race Skill - Feral: A part of the player's body can be transformed into a body part of their contracted beast.

(Cooldown: Dependent on player's strength and stamina.)

Elves had better agility, perception, and mana stats, specializing in ranged attacks, but they were weak when participating in close quarters combat. They were given the option to be a sniper, support, or assassin. Elves were most compatible with earth, wind, and water magic.

Race Skill - Sense Enhancement: The player's 5 senses increase in perception drastically for a period of time.

(Cooldown: Dependent on player's mana and perception.)

Fairies had better mana and agility stats because they could fly for a set period of time, but they had really low Hp stats to balance this overpowered ability out causing them to be easily killed. They were given the option to be either support or sniper. They were compatible with all four elemental magic types, but couldn't use holy magic like some humans.

Race Skill - Flight: The player is able to fly for a set amount of time with their wings.

(Cooldown: Dependent on player's mana and intelligence.)

Demons had better strength, agility, and Hp stats, but had little mana as they mostly used something called demonic energy, but that just induced fear into their opponents, causing hallucinations and such. They were given the option to be a vanguard, assassin, berserker, or support. They were only compatible with fire magic.

Race Skill - Devour: The player is able to instantly kill another player that has a lower level than them and they are able to steal the skill of 1 player out of 100 players that they devour.

(Cooldown - 1 week)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ranking System:

The ranking system is a system that evaluates a skill, item, or monster's value. This is often dependent on the power and rarity of said things. Also, with the exception of S ranks, if the rank has two of the same letters in it like AA rank, then that just means that it is a strength in between A+ and S- rank.

The ranking system goes from: F- | F | F+ | E- | E | E+ | D- | D | D+ | C- | C | C+ | B- | B | B+ | A- | A | A+ | S- | S | S+ | SS- | SS | SS+ | SSS- | SSS | SSS+ | SSS++ | SSS+++ | EX |

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Miscellaneous:

Titles: Titles are basically awarded names that a user gets if they are well known enough by that name or they can get them for completing a certain task. Titles will sometimes have buffs attached to them. Titles are mostly used for attracting certain NPCs and gaining favor with them in the Tower.

Skills: Skills are the manifestations of the way a person guides mana through their mana circuit. Skills can take the form of spells, body enhancements, buffs, and curses.
