Omniscience in Marvel 128

Title -

"Then compare that to the atomic bomb."

"Huh?"

"Think about it. This bomb was just the first of its kind. What's to say it can't be improved upon?" Leucadius asked, causing the room to fall into silence. "A devastating invention it is, but humanity understood just enough to control it...barely."

Sersi and Sprite couldn't quite understand what Leucadius and Phastos were talking about, but they could at the very least, imagine the devastating scene that would follow should the atomic bomb be improved upon.

Upon seeing that they were still trying to comprehend the effects of such a future, Leucadius continued.

"By using purer fissile materials or advanced isotopes, there will be an increase in the efficiency of the chain reaction. Enhancing the design of the explosive lens system to achieve more effective compression of the fissile core can boost yield."

"Not to mention the Hydrogen bomb that relies on Fusion rather than Fission of the Atomic bomb." Phastos added as his facial expression turned into one of horror.

"It's good that we're both understanding the situation now." Leucadius said but smiled and added. "But this isn't a bad thing y'know."

The three Eternals all looked at him as though they were looking at an alien. "Don't look at me like that guys. Think about it. With this, Humanity has made a mark in its civilization. Going forward, more advanced and sophisticated weapons will surely be created. Whether you like it or not."

"And that's a good thing?" Sersi raised an eyebrow and asked.

From Phastos and Sprite's expression, Leucadius could tell they also bore the same question in mind.

"Of course it is," he said, snapping his fingers. The Milky Way galaxy materialized in front of them, swirling in a glowing projection. "With this, humanity has announced itself as a child to watch out for in the future on a galactic scale."

"For some reason, I find that to be insulting." Sersi said and the other two nodded.

"It isn't. Think about it. Humanity is barely a few thousand years old. Not counting the time before the Cataclysm of course." Leucadius began. "Compared to the other humanoid races and Gods bordering them, they're like kids with this level of technology."

Phastos leaned forward, his eyes narrowing. "And that's something to celebrate?"

"Absolutely," Leucadius said, his voice carrying conviction. "Their capacity to destroy means they have the potential to create. It's the beginning of a new chapter, one where they'll be playing a role on a universal stage."

"Any being with proper understanding of energy manipulation won't even need to bat an eye should this level of attack be fired at them. I, for one, know that I won't be affected by the radiation."

"It still doesn't exclude the fact that it's very dangerous to Humans. Did you see the defects it caused to those in close proximity?" Sprite asked but Leucadius merely shrugged.

"A small price to pay for a brighter and secure future."

"You…"

"Stop it Sprite…"

"But-"

"He's right." Sersi said with a sad sigh. "Whether we like it or not…he's right. Have you forgotten how wars were waged in the past? Kings sent their soldiers to block an entire country's source of food and water leading to hundreds of thousands of deaths."

"But that was then. This is different."

"I don't see much difference. Lives are still being lost in their droves. Heartless as it might sound…humans need this to develop." Sersi concluded and turned to Leucadius. "The way you said it however…is heartless."

"Yeah, considering the way you're portrayed in those books of yours…you're horrible." Sprite said in disgust.

"Really? Well, I always thought I was a good father so I couldn't be bothered." Leucadius shrugged. As the Abrahamic God, horrible things had been carried out in his name but none of that bothered him.

Those very actions laid the foundations to the world as it is today and that was all there was to it.

Then turning to Phastos. "I understand your plight, which is why you need not worry about humans anymore." He said and pointed to the cube on the table. "That is Yggdrasil. A virtual universe I created."

"What?"

"Huh?"

"..."

Sprite, Sersi and Phastos replied in their own way to Leucadius' words. "Yeah. I did it after getting a bit of information from the Superflow."

"Super…flow?"

"Yeah, complicated stuff, don't bother trying to understand." Leucadius said. "This Universe was built off of the World Tree Ten Realms. I plan on launching it in the far future."

"Launching it?" Phastos asked in confusion.

"Yeah, as a virtual game. A form of entertainment so to say." Leucadius nodded. "With the deployment of that bomb, a certain gene hidden in the Human genome would begin to activate and in time a good percentage of humanity would awaken to special abilities which I term…Meta Ability and the gene…Meta Gene."

"I see," Phastos said, though he still looked skeptical. "So, this virtual universe you're creating, how does it work?"

"Well," Leucadius began, "it's designed to be a fully immersive experience, much like those virtual reality games I always told you about, but on a much grander scale."

"The concept is similar to the VMMORPGs (Virtual Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games). You see, this virtual universe, Yggdrasil, is a complex simulation that mirrors the real universe but allows for extraordinary experiences and abilities based on your decisions in the game."

Sersi leaned in, curiosity piqued. "And how does it help Phastos? If this is just a game-"

"It's more than just a game," Leucadius interrupted and explained. "Ygdrassil operates on a level that integrates real-time physics, advanced AI, and a full range of sensory inputs."

"Players will be able to experience and interact with the environment in ways that feel as real as their physical world. The technology behind it is basically divine. I created it after all."

Sprite, skeptical but intrigued, asked, "And how does this relate to the Meta Gene?"

Leucadius smiled. "The Meta Gene is a latent trait within the human genome that will be activated by the radiation of the atomic bomb spreading into the atmosphere."

"For now, the game, Ygdrassil, has been designed to pull in lucky individuals into it. As the game progresses, players will discover and unlock abilities that reflect the potential of the Meta Gene."

"MetaGene?" Phastos repeated, trying to grasp the concept.

"Right," Leucadius said. "In essence, the game's environment will simulate scenarios where players can explore and develop their inherent Meta Abilities."

"They will have the opportunity to awaken and hone extraordinary skills, everything from manipulating elements to superhuman strength or telepathy."

Phastos furrowed his brow in understanding. "So, this game is not only a form of entertainment but a way to prepare humanity for their future by helping them realize their latent potential?"

"Exactly," Leucadius confirmed. "It's an opportunity for them to experiment, grow, and adapt in a controlled environment before their abilities manifest in the real world."

"By introducing these elements in a virtual setting, they'll have a chance to handle the extraordinary responsibly."

"It's an intriguing idea," Sersi said thoughtfully. "But how do you ensure it doesn't just become another source of chaos?"

"That is impossible and a challenge," Leucadius admitted. "The virtual universe will have guidelines and safeguards to manage the abilities and prevent misuse. It will be up to the players to learn and grow within these parameters. After all, there will be other Living beings in this Universe."

Sprite crossed her arms, still not entirely convinced. "And what happens if someone tries to exploit the game's system?"

"That's where advanced AI, Administrators and monitoring systems come into play," Leucadius said. "The virtual world will be overseen by a set of rules and regulations, with AI managing and intervening when necessary."

Phastos looked thoughtful, considering the implications. "And this is all to help humanity evolve?"

"Yes," Leucadius said with a nod. "By simulating the development of abilities and providing a controlled environment for their growth, humanity will be better equipped to handle their new potential."

Sersi, Sprite, and Phastos exchanged glances, their expressions a mix of awe and skepticism. "It's a grand vision," Sersi said finally. "But whether it will achieve its intended goals remains to be seen."

Leucadius smiled. "Indeed. The future is always uncertain, but it's through such bold endeavors that we shape it. Let's just hope humanity rises to the occasion."

Following the end of World War II, courtesy of the disappearance of both Steve Rogers and Johann Schmidt, Peggy Carter faced a changed world.

The Strategic Scientific Reserve (SSR), once an elite organization, now became bureaucratic and dismissive of her contributions.

Despite her heroic past and critical role in Captain America's story, Peggy easily finds herself being sidelined and underappreciated in the post-war SSR.

Peggy's struggle was twofold: professionally, she fought for respect in a male-dominated field, and personally, she dealt with the loss of Steve Rogers, the man she admired and loved.

The weight of their shared history and the quiet, persistent grief over Steve's presumed death weigh heavily on her.

Despite all this, she quickly adjusted to her new, mundane office role, working alongside agents who undermined her and her efforts.

The SSR's lack of focus on significant threats left Peggy frustrated. Her skills as a field agent were largely wasted on administrative tasks and trivial cases.

"What do you think?" One white haired young man asked a bald headed lady as they both observed Peggy's life while enjoying a cup of tea.

"What am I supposed to think? She's moving as she should despite your interference." The lady said with an air of maturity that made her seem to be the man's senior.

"I'm well aware of that. I made sure my presence didn't affect the timeline. However, I couldn't be heartless enough to watch those two lovebirds get separated in this manner." The man said with a sad sigh which only caused the lady to look at him disbelievingly. "What's with that look?"

"It's just impossible to believe you…is all."

"Come now, Tilda-

"Yao."

"Yeah, Tao or Dao or whatever you decided your name was. You can't possibly be thinking that I'm some heartless God, could you?"

"I don't have to think anything. The records speak for themselves." Tilda, or Yao or the Ancient One as she now goes by, said calmly with her eyes closed and Leucadius could immediately tell she was avoiding answering.

"I see the years have taught you a lot, eh? But don't forget I was your master once before." Leucadius said with a smirk. "Closing your eyes when you're lying or avoiding the truth might make you look like a master to those not in the know, but it's me you're dealing with."

Tilda's left eye twitched ever so slightly that if not for Leucadius' eyesight, he might have missed it. "What do you want?"

"It's simple. I'm planning to extend her life by a few years and have come to let you know before you decide to pay me a visit for messing with the timeline."

"So…you do know extending her life will go against the flow of time."

"Yup. I'd probably be creating a whole new universe with that one decision, but considering that she's called Captain Carter in one other universe, I'd say everything is alright."

Tilda and Leucadius looked at each other for an extended period of time. "I take it you've already made up your mind?" She asked and made a hand sign that activated the eye of Agamotto hanging on her neck before closing her eyes.

A few glitches in and out of existence, she finally opened her eyes and gave Leucadius an inexplicable look before sighing and shutting the eye down.

"So?" Leucadius asked but Tilda harrumphed and picked up her cup of tea that didn't get cold despite the time she'd wasted.

"I'll have to reject your future initial proposition of using the dark dimension's energy. Anything else is good as long as she knows what she's doing." Tilda said and waved her hand, sending Leucadius away from the space they were in.

Leucadius, of course, didn't try to fight back and allowed himself to be pushed away. However, he didn't forget to leave a few words behind.

"I owe you one this time lil Tilda, and you won't regret it."

"Humph. Why would I need anything from you when I haven't needed it after all this time?" Tilda muttered to herself, however, the slight smile tugging on her lips betrayed her.

Aged as she might be, she knew that in front of Leucadius and his circle of influence, she was nothing but a kid.

A very strong kid, but a kid nonetheless. And as a student of Leucadius, how could she not feel pleased that her teacher came to ask her permission before doing something that went against her role.

This went to show that Leucadius respected her as Earth's guardian and treated her as such and not as his student whom he could disregard despite her post.

A/N: Next chapter will be the last one of this arc with Peggy and Howard meeting Lucas for the last time for now. There will be other meetings like Howard's marriage, Tony's birth and stuff like that, but they'll come in later.

Also, I didn't watch the series: Agent Carter so I can't accurately write anything about her and just follow the Normal timeline. I don't want this fanfic to exceed 200 chapters since I'm also planning to continue the DC fanfic.

Keep the support coming and Enjoy
