Chapter 28: Into The Dip
I woke up to Rowan and Jasper simultaneously catching me before I could lean too far forward off the couch.
“Oh, I fainted,” I said simply. I had only fainted for a second, if even. “I never fainted before.”
“Not an order,” Rowan said, eyes rounded but otherwise calm, “but please don’t do that again.”
“Do you need water?” Fifi asked. She remained standing where she was, her head a sliver above the two men before me, tilted back so she could meet my gaze.
She continued, “Tea? I’ll get you water and make some tea.” She strode out of the room.
“How many years is six months?” I wondered out loud.
Jasper and Rowan squinted.
“Half a year,” Jasper answered.
I waved my hand, trying to erase the question. As it stood, the question didn’t make sense, and I saw that.
