Null Beginning

Null realized that he was trapped inside of his own mind!

How terrifying was that; he was fully aware of the situation ongoing outside, but he appeared to be unresponsive to those around him.

His body remained buried deep underground in a space large enough to fit him, the others wouldn't be able to dig him up without equipment.

"You would do well to sit tight and fade away without struggle," a familiar voice resounded throughout his mind space giving him chills.

'No. How could it be?" It seemed like the worst of his fears came to be true as he had never rid himself of the cursed one who showed up when this all started.

It was none other than himself standing before him.

"I am Null. The true Null of course; you my poor boy only existed to revive your creator in the end." He spoke once more, revealing an unforeseen truth.

'Creator!?' This wasn't the first time he heard the title he thought as he recalled the first message he received from the other Null.

"Yes. You were created after I was forced to detonate my soul to escape my pursuers. They had thought that I was gone for good after that, but little did they know that I had a plan in mind," he cackled deliriously.

"Why me?! What did I do to warrant this?" Null questioned.

Then, as mystical as ever the space around them transformed making it seem like they were viewing a three-dimensional movie in all directions.

"Witness the futility of your struggle firsthand through a glimpse of the fate I had in store for me. Feel my emotions and thoughts and become lost; only then could you realize the peril you now face simply because you exist."

His figure melted into the vivid reconstruction of an enormous paradisiacal planet, yet his voice still rang throughout his mind as he began narrating.

"My parents came from a special planet that was enslaved by a higher race known as the Arpeca, the earliest known race to gain advanced intelligence. They sought to uncover the origin of the universe."

He paused and he collected himself for his next words.

"Unbeknownst to the peaceful natives, their planet was one of the most ancient in the universe, and all of its uncovered treasures were just waiting to be extracted by its latest guests," his face warped in anger as he continued.

"They enslaved my people and reaped everything of value without hesitation; my people were made to mine the planet, harvest the spiritual herbs, and hunt the creatures inhabiting the lands until the planet was on the verge of being entirely depleted of natural resources."

He then looked Null in the eyes, a connection between the two that stole the moment, but broke it with a pained expression on his face.

He was engrossed in his memories as Null took on a strikingly similar appearance to his own as a kid.

"I was born as a slave and lived as a slave up until I made the discovery that changed my life as well as the universe itself," he spoke with a gravitas that made Null nervously gulp.

"An ancient spring of natural energy was what awaited my small figure due to the adults not being able to fit the narrow space. I told them there was nothing of importance but made sure to remember the location and return during resting hours."

"It was unknown what the substance was at the time, but after absorbing and studying the effects brought upon by it, I dubbed the substance 'cosmic energy' as it swirled akin to a milky galaxy and bestowed me with a connection to the universe itself."

"My body was reformed, molded into a vessel that could absorb sparse traces of spiritual energy in the air by merely breathing." He finally paused his storytelling and switched to a different explanation.

"What this planet had absorbed through that dimensional tear was spiritual energy, a neutral form of energy capable of advancing the spirit of living creatures and in large enough quantities or condensed form, even spark life in anything."

"I used what little power I had upon reawakening to rip apart the fabric of space to find a sufficient amount of spiritual energy to awaken a spirit in this planet so that it would gather spiritual energy at a quicker pace." The truth behind the apocalypse was revealed at last.

Null halted all thinking and forced himself to carry on listening to avoid alerting his past self.

"I consumed the entirety of the spring overtime and developed a way to cultivate the spiritual energy so that I could escape the fate that the Arpeca forced upon me and my people."

"So, I grew smarter, stronger, and more powerful each day and discovered more unique powers I now had thanks to the cosmic energy."

"I was evolving," as he spoke those words, it felt like they reverberated throughout Null's soul.

"And thus, I grew strong enough to overcome my suppressors, free my people, and begin my journey through the universe," his eyes shone in milky ripples.

They looked as if they were going unstable without a single word said for an unknown period of time.

The sickly silence was left undisturbed as the movie shattered and a trail of blood began leaking from the left eye of the original Null.

The scene grew even creepier as his eyes grew wide and his lips moved without making a sound and began to dissipate into nothingness.

Null's face sank, 'Why are so many people barging into my head, telling me some crazy shit about stuff I've never heard of, then disappearing like I'm supposed to just accept it.'

Nevertheless, he just accepted it in the end.

Whatever the case, all Null wanted to do right now was take a hot bath and forget about the trauma he'd have to deal with soon.

Oddly enough, he could feel himself waking up; his eyelids trembled, he could feel a warm blanket atop his body and hear the crackling of a fire.
