The Village VII: An Argument

"Is there a specific reason why you're asking me this?" asked Gin as his head slightly tilted to the side.

"Just curious," I lied to him. But he didn't look convinced.

"There is one person in mind," Gin paused and looked hesitant to continue. But in the end, he gave in and sighed out loud. "It's just an assumption, but he might have been the cause of the Great War. But fortunately, he wasn't the one who destroyed the tree."

Gin's eyes grew wide, and he grabbed my shoulder. "Don't tell me he found you?" Gin asked me in an angered tone, and his brow furrowed. "It's not time to lie, Flora. Especially if it has something to do with him."

"Earlier…I met him," I mumbled, and Gin gritted his teeth. He looked as if he would explode any second now. "He knows who I am. But doesn't plan on telling others since he wants my core all for himself."

Gin angrily laughed and brushed his hair back. His fist clenched, and the veins on his neck became visible.
