'This can't be!' Liam thought as he rushed through the hospital hallway; changing direction at every junction he passed by.
"Hey! Stop!" Yelled a male, moving to Liam while jogging.
To his disappointment, Liam who was supposed to be flabby, moved faster than he could, leaving him at a loss for words.
Taking out a radiophone from his belt, he placed it on his lips. "Room 111 patient is out, heading north. I repeat, heading north."
Placing the radiophone back on his belt, he sped toward Liam's supposed direction.
On Liam's side, he kept racing through the halls, checking each for an unknown element.
Finally reaching a hall, he caught sight of a beautiful lady, her black hair clinging to her sweaty face.
Her whole composition just screamed, "perfect!" Attracting the awe of both males and females.
"Grace!" Liam called out, calling the attention of not only Grace but the whole individuals in the vicinity.
"Liam?!" Grace said in surprise, as she walked in an alluring manner toward Liam.
"This is enough!" Yelled a masculine voice from the other side.
He was standing on their path. If either of them needed to get closer, he was the blockade they would have to break through.
"I took the time out of my schedule to address you," he said, glaring at Liam, before shifting slightly to Grace. "And you still repeat the same mistake."
He said this, his eyes bloodshot. He was very angry. For some reason, he didn't want Grace to get close to Liam and he seemed to have no power in sending Liam away from the hospital; giving him no choice, but to wallow in anger whenever he saw them together.
"Fuck you!" Liam yelled as he grabbed Grace, dragging her towards the south.
"Get him!" Yelled the man, veins popping from his head. "You just crossed the line boy."
Coming from that direction, were individuals dressed in white. They all seemed to be males, with only a few females sighted.
Chasing after Liam, who entered and exited every faculty perfectly, like he had been the one to design and craft the building structure.
'I was asked to take care of him, not bend to his will,' the man thought, with gritted teeth. 'I will have to show him pain… then he won't dare come close to my Grace.'
A wild grin appeared on his face, as he thought of ravishing Grace from outside to within. 'I can't wait.'
________
Liam side
Standing on the balcony of the huge building, was Liam and Grace. Still holding each other's hand tightly.
"Won't they find us here?" Grace asked curiously, aiming a glare at Liam.
"Come on! Don't fret, I'm here with you," he shrugged, as he sat on the balcony.
"Ohh! Dragging me with so much force, my hands now hurt because of that," Grace said, faking pain.
"Sorry my dear nurse, I'll not do it again," Liam said, shaking his head dejectedly.
"I didn't mean it like that!" Grace exclaimed, crouching beside Liam.
"Is that true?" Liam said in a wimpy tone, causing Grace to feel bad.
Placing her hands on his cheek, she shifted his head, making their eyes meet. "Do you think I can stay without you?"
"I don't know," Liam said, bowing his head to avoid eye contact.
Sitting beside him, she leaned her head on his shoulder. "I don't know why, but… my life has been so miserable."
Her voice pained as she held Liam's hand tightly. "Everything… everybody always ends up seeing me for what I have, rather than what I am."
"I…"
"Don't say anything… just let me talk," she said, tightening her grip.
"You changed ever since I found you on the terrace," she giggled. "Don't you want to tell me?"
Seeming to notice something weird with Liam's behavior, she decided to ask openly.
"I don't have anything to tell you," Liam said in a rush. "I felt a change would be beneficial to me."
Rising up and also separating Grace's hand from his. "I think it's time to return."
Turning his back on Grace, he walked back into the building. Looking depressed and at the brink of shedding tears.
On passing through the entrance, he turned back to take one last glance at Grace.
Seeing tears rolling down her cheeks, he felt an ache in his heart; but decided to ignore it. 'Sorry Grace, I wish I could make you happy… it's too late to turn back.'
Continuing his motion, he headed towards the exit, avoiding all the hospital officials or anyone who might alarm them.
________
The road of the busy city was marvelous despite the population. Everything went in an orderly man, giving the environment a beautiful glow.
Walking through the city road, Liam could sight a lot of fast-food restaurants causing him to salivate.
He felt Kosmos food was not bad, but as a bonafide Earthling… more like a former Earthling, he felt an urge to at least eat one meal before the trial ends.
"Haa, I'm going to eat one big meal," he said, rushing into a restaurant.
Sighting an individual he assumed to be a waitress, he walked in her direction with rushed steps.
"Good day, sir, what are your preferences?" Asked the attendant, giving Liam a polite bow.
'Wait! I don't have money!' Liam yelled in his mind, as he smiled sheepishly.
"Don't you… do giveaways?" He inquired, whispering the last part.
"No sir," said the attendant, smiling. But there was something strange about her current smile, which made Liam head for the exit.
Heading to a series of other restaurants, shops, and any other place where eatables could be found around that region, he received the same reply.
"Guess I'll have to return," he muttered, eyeing the large structure from a distance.
"Here I come," he said, jogging toward the hospital.
______
Entering the hospital, which was surprisingly quiet. And not a normal silence at that; it was a spooky silence, making Liam rethink his idea of going in.
"Don't be scared, you transmigrated into a fantasy world, much worse than this," he muttered to himself, gaining the courage to move further.
'Why is this place so quiet? Seems my little charade chased all the workers and patients,' he thought as he touched his chin.
*Clank*
Hearing the sound of a metal clashing with something, possibly the ground; he decided to head in that direction, tiptoeing, so as not to be noticed.
'I would have made a good detective,' he thought, giggling softly.
Arriving at the location, what he saw left him breathless; awakening something that he never thought existed in him.
