Ch 34 : Sanada Vs. Orochimaru

BANG!!!! BANG!!!! BANG!!!!

In the middle of the Forest of Death, countless water projectiles were fired at the speed of a bullet at Orochimaru.

The power of the water projectiles was no joke. When hit by the water projectiles the trees, the ground, and even the big rocks would have a big gaping hole left on them.

Seeing these attacks Orochimaru became serious.

If he underestimated this Jonin in front of him things would end up more troublesome than they had to be.

Orochimaru, this time didn't use the Giant Snake to tank the attacks.

With his current speed, dodging the water droplets was still possible. He kept shuttling around the forest to avoid the water droplets, only leaving behind an afterimage each time.

"You know, you are a bit harder to deal with than I thought. But this will be your end!!" Orochimaru shouted.

He opened his mouth and a prolonged Kusanagi sword came out rushing in Sanada's direction.

Sanada sensed the danger of this attack and gave up on the Uzhimizu barrage. A red light flashed through his eyes as he once again assumed the basic stance of Fish-Man Karate.

"Nanasenmaigawara Mawashigeri!!!

Sanada performed a roundhouse kick, and...

BOOOM!!!!!!

The Kusanagi blade clashed with Sanada's Roundhouse Kick and a huge shockwave shook their surroundings.

Sanada got knocked back a few meters but he did successfully deflect Orochimaru's attack.

The two quickly balanced their positions as they got ready to clash once more.

Two figures flashed around the Forest of Death as they kept exchanging attacks.

Sanada's Fishman Karate was matched with Orochimaru's weird snake jutsu but none of them were able to gain the upper hand in this confrontation.

Orochimaru sometimes used his Wind Ninjutsu to take Sanada by surprise. Those attacks though were perfectly countered by Sanada's Karakusagawara Seiken.

"Not bad, but... Multiple Striking Shadow Snakes!!!"

As Orochimaru waved his sleeves a swarm of big snakes slithered out from his sleeves ready to pounce at Sanada.

The swarm of big snakes immediately covered Sanada's body, but there was no trace of panic on Sanada's face even at this moment.

The moment the big snakes were about to bite Sanada, his figure turned into a log.

Substitution Jutsu!

Sanada then reappeared right behind Orochimaru. His fist was already in the Basic Fish-Man Karate stance, ready to launch a big move.

"Samegawara Seiken!!!!"

The sound that Sanada's punch released was frightening. He gathered all the water vapor in his surroundings to his arm once and was ready to fire it at any moment.

'Fast.. So you are the one who teaches that kid!'

Orochimaru was a bit surprised by the speed of Sanada's Substitution Jutsu but he remained calm and responded with a counterattack.

BOOOMM!!! BOOMM!! BOOMM!!!!!

Sanada's fist directly hit Orochimaru's body, but Sanada wasn't in a better condition himself.

Orochimaru was a psycho. The moment Sanada's fist was about to hit his body, he didn't run or anything, instead, he used his Kusanagi sword to counter Sanada.

One of the biggest weaknesses of the Fish-ManKarate was its rigid posture. Therefore, when Sanada was launching his attack, he was vulnerable to a counterattack.

The Kusanagi sword was able to pierce Sanada's leg, but before it could go further, Orochimaru had been blasted away by the shockwave of Samegawara Seiken.

'This is getting troublesome. I first thought this kid would be on the same level as Anko or the other young Jonin of Konoha. That Substitution Jutsu though.. it's making me have to modify all my plans.. I need to find somewhere to escape first and if I could, I have to find Sasuke fast..' Orochimaru thought after receiving the damage from Samegawara Seiken.

"Orochimaru-Style: Substitution Jutsu"

Orochimaru no longer wanted to continue playing with Sanada. Even if he tried his best, Sanada's Substitution Jutsu would be enough for him to stall for some time and that was not what Orochimaru wanted.

He withdrew the Kusanagi sword that came out from his mouth as he escaped towards the Forest.

Sanada saw Orochimaru leaving and sighed in relief. Even though Orochimaru wanted to catch up with Sasuke and the others he would be too late by now.

Sanada took the scroll that Orochimaru dropped when he was blown away by Sanada's punch and picked it up before summoning the same Small Blue-Ring octopus as Hibachi.

"Little guy, I need you to bring this to the other side. Please tell Hibachi I have repelled that guy, but I don't think that he'll give up any time soon. Give this scroll to Sasuke and quickly go to the central tower as soon as possible."

The Blue-Ring Octopus made a gesture as if it understood Sanada's words before disappearing once again, leaving Sanada alone together with all the mess he had created while fighting Orochimaru.

Now the only thing left was to explain this to the Konoha officials..

*Sigh*

"Why does this have to be so bothersome..."

- Team six's side -

After leaving Sanada to hold back Orochimaru, Hibachi, Sakura, Ami, and Sasuke quickly regrouped with Naruto and Kasumi.

They explained the situation to Naruto and Kasumi and they reached the consensus to quickly go to the central tower.

The Chunin Exam was important but with a psycho eyeing for their lives, they all knew that the most important thing was to survive.

The two genin teams picked up Karin along the way and now they were on their way to the central tower.

But just as the Genin were able to see the central tower, Hibachi suddenly stopped.

"What's the matter, Hibachi?" The others saw this and asked, afraid that something was wrong with Hibachi.

But soon, they noticed that Hibachi's expression had turned from tense to relief and that it shouldn't have been anything dangerous.

Hibachi just stopped for a while before the group continued their journey as Hibachi said he would explain everything along the way.

"First, here!" Hibachi threw a scroll in Sasuke's direction.

"It's from Sensei. He said that he has repelled the intruder but there might be a chance that the intruder will come back. Therefore our priority is to get to the central tower as quickly as possible."
