Usually, Oden spends some time reading something either from the Zaraki library that belongs to his clan, or the one in his mansion that belongs to the clan head.
Today he felt slightly lazy so he read some old documents, and he found something written by the former head of the servants, the one before Migoto.
"I am Murida, the head servant of the Zaraki clan. My intention for writing this, is because I fear that an important part of the Zaraki clan history will be lost." Oden read before changing to the next page.
"I myself am not certain about the exact details of what has happened, but I know some cues. Ever since the young clan head, Akai Zaraki, took his position 3 months ago, the tension between the clan head and his father Yujiro Zaraki has risen. It seems like, tensions between Hashirama, Madara and Yujiro have risen as well. They can't seem to find common ground. From my humble understanding, Yujiro-sama shares the views of Madara-dono while his son agrees with Hashirama-Dono." Oden was surprised by what he had read.
He didn't know much about his great grandfather as he had died even before Oden's father was born.
"I am not certain exactly what has happened, but I fear for the worst. Hokage-Dono fought against Madara-dono and Yujiro-sama. The Clan head joined and helped Hokage-sama, although he is only 15 years old, his strength was enough to help Hokage-sama. Both of them returned home safely while Madara and Yujiro perished in battle..." Oden was absolutely aghast at what he read, he would've never guessed that something like this had happened in the time of his grandfather.
Suddenly he felt a clump in his chest. How hard it must have been for Akai to fight his own father.
Oden turned to the last page.
"The tensions between The New clan head and his father, the former clan head have always been clear to see, but I would've never been able to guess that it would one day escalate to this... Akai-Sama was always brazen, rebellious, a problem child that caused many troubles
He created trouble whenever he went, yet his heart was always warm and kind. Yujiro-sama was the opposite, calm, cold and calculative. I never once saw him look at his son with favour... I deeply worry about the young master as he has become cold and detached since his father's betrayal. I hope he can find inner peace and return to the joyful, troublemaking kid he once was.
The village hid the details of Madara's and Yujior-sama's betrayal. Zaraki clan even went so far to hide the fact that Yujiro-sama betrayed the village and clan, however, for the future clan heads,
I have written this record so that you may know what has occurred to our Clan. A grave event indeed."
'To think that grandfather had to go through something like this... no wonder he rarely speaks about his past, and even less so about great-grandfather... yet the few times he did mention him he spoke well of him.' Oden thought.
He realised that his grandfather seemed to respect his father even though he rebelled against the very village he helped create.
Oden always felt like his grandfather had misbehaved in his elderly age because of had become carefree, but it seemed like he was like that in his young age as well, and it was something that was deeply rooted in his personality because of external factors such as the coldness of his father.
Suddenly Oden smiled as he missed his grandfather, afterall, between his grandfather and father, the older one was more loving towards Oden as he grew up.
To Oden, his grandfather was someone very important.
'But Migoto told me that when he became the butler, my grandfather was cold and fearsome on the battlefield. It might be that he only found peace and returned to his real self after he had his children and grandchildren. To think that grandfather closed off his heart for so long because of having to fight his father.' Oden realised many new things about his grandfather and his past.
Oden sighed and put the recorded document back to where it was, between many other documents and books in his library inside his mansion.
He became mentally fatigued by what he had learnt and as he walked out, he found both his wives standing outside, looking worried.
"What's wrong?" He asked.
"You took so long so we got worried and came to make sure that you're fine..." Ayako said while Hinata nodded.
Both Hinata and Ayako had come to make sure that he was well since he had been in the library a long time, yet they found him deeply engrossed in his reading while furrowing his brows and sighing.
They became worried and patiently waited.
Oden Couldn't help but to feel all his stress disappear when he saw his two wives being genuinely worried about his well being.
"How can I be unwell when I have you two..." Oden said with a smile and walked past them.
Both of them looked at each other, surprised at how fast he went from stressed to happy. They turned around and followed him with smiles as he was fine.
A few days later Oden received a message from the Hokage so he went to her office.
"Sigh, more trouble has come up!" Tsunade said as she felt the burden of being the Hokage.
She eyed Oden slightly and thought about retiring, although she had only been the Hokage for a short while.
Before Odem could ask for the details, the door behind them opened and Hiruzen walked in.
"Ara Ara, what has happened now" Hiruzen said in a light, carefree, elderly tone.
It seems like ever since Oden showed his true worth, Tsunade took over the Hokage position, Orochimaru died, Akai disappeared and Ayako married Oden, the old man was so relaxed that he was between the clouds. Nothing could bring him down. He almost looked 10 years younger.
Seeing how well rested and carefree her teacher had become, Tsunade felt annoyed and angry.
"One of the Jinchuriki has been kidnapped by the organisation that Jiraiya is looking into." She said.
Oden frowned, this was indeed something important. Although he isn't worried about Madara just yet since it will take some time before he is ready for the final part of his plan, this event could eventually change the power dynamic between the nations that another war could escalate.
Yet he saw Hiruzen unfazed, as if all trouble would solve themselves.
"Which Jinchuriki is it." Oden said but before Tsunade could speak further, the door slammed open once again as Danzo walked in.
"We must take action and start a war with them before they can start a war with us." Danzo said with confidence. He felt like Oden would back him up on this.
