Chapter 11

"Yes. I wished to ask if you have seen anyone suspicious moving around this area" he said after which he quickly activated his Byakugan causing the veins around his eyes to bulge. The Byakugan was a powerful Kekei Genkai belonging to the Hyuga clan known for possessing multiple abilities however the most famous ones were its near 360 degrees vision and the ability to see the chakra points and pathways within a creature alongside its X-ray vision. It was a truly powerful and useful Kekei Genkai useful in a variety of situations such as this one in which it could be used to read the beating of a person's heart in order to detect whether they are lying or not. It could also be used to read the chakra flow speed by more skilled Hyuga clan members however Yuu doubted the Chunin before him was proficient enough to do so however just in case using the spy skills and memories he possessed, he subtly calmed and controlled his heart beat and chakra flow speed.

"I haven't. Why did something happen?" replied Yuu calmly. The Hyuga chunin observed him for a few seconds and after finding no irregularities, finally responded "Yes but it's nothing you need to concern yourself with."

"However, if you find information of any suspicious individual, please report it to the nearest certified shinobi office. You will be rewarded based on the value of the information."

"Understood. If I find anything, I will immediately report it"

"Good" sternly said the Hyuga with a polite smile "Very well then as I still have to question other people in the village, I wish you a good night" he said as quickly flickered away.

"You too" said Yuu as he returned back to his apartment while heaving a sigh of relief. Despite the appearance of a Hyuga on his doorstep, he was sure that everything had gone as planned and nobody suspected him of anything due to his great track-erasing skills, chakra control and body control. With his mind at peace over not being discovered, Yuu went to sleep however what he didn't know was that the Hyuga shinobi had not only been reading his heart beats but had also been monitoring his chakra and comparing it to the clones that had gone off a while back in Naruto's district further injuring the shinobi present.

All the Hyuga present had memorized the chakra signature of the clones before it faded away and had immediately set out to find the culprit using this chakra signature.

A shinobi's chakra signature was unique to themselves and was present in every jutsu they cast, kind of like a finger print ID, which the Hyuga were capable of seeing and memorizing in order to compare with other people. It was one of the reasons why the Hyuga clan were given the position of the police force after the Uchiha leading this department were massacred which made sense as their Kekei Genkai was basically built for police work.

Anyway, the Hyuga chunin had used his Byakugan to compare Yuu's chakra signature with that of the clone however had surprisingly ended up find them to be completely different which normally shouldn't have been possible. What Yuu and the Hyuga chunin didn't know was that as Yuu's power assimilated other shinobi's physiques and chakra levels to his own, it ends up changing the Yuu's chakra signature. Just like that night where Yuu's chakra was constantly being changed by the old shinobi's chakra that was being assimilated into his body.

Truly a useful power!

The next day, the entire village was inb an uproar. People had finally found out about the massacre at the elder home and were rampantly gossiping amongst themselves about what could have happened there. The entire site was filled with blood, destroyed debris and stray projectiles lodged in all areas around them. There were however no bodies which led the people to believe that it was a timed assassination hunt probably for someone with a bounty which was a common thing in the shinobi world however when the Konoha police investigated the scene and came up with a list of the missing individuals, none of the individuals missing was worth attacking the Hidden leaf village for. Most of them were worthless while for those with bounties, the highest bounty among them was 290,000 Ryo which was not a lot compared to the S-rank ninjas in the bingo book who had at least a 5 million Ryo bounty.

In the Hokage office, a meeting was currently being held with every clan head present which just went to show just how serious the situation was. Seated around a large table were Shibi Aburame, Choza Akimichi, Hiashi Hyuga, Shikaku Nara, Daiki Fuma, Jiro Hatake, Tsume Inuzuka, Amagi Izuno, Mitokado Homura, Utatane Koharu, Stone Lee, Asahi Onikuma, Biwako Sarutobi, Danzo Shimura, Inoichi Yamanaka, Yamato Izumo, and Ichiro Suzumeno. Even Yakumo Kurama—the very young heiress to her clan—and that former Suna Kunoichi—Hakuto, representing the Hoki Family—were both present.

"Now that everyone is here let us begin the meeting" said the Third Hokage Hiruzen Sarutobi.

"I'm sure everyone here knows what we are going to discuss today however just for the sake of clarity I will repeat it. Last night, we faced two attacks on the Hidden Leaf village. One was in the district area where Naruto Uzumaki, the current nine-tails jinchuriki, was while the other was in the Konoha elder home. In both cases we suffered massive casualties in both elite and normal shinobi as well as hundreds of civilians."

The room descended into an eerie silence after the words of the Third Hokage. Finally Hiashi Hyuga spoke up after a while of silence.

"What about the jinchuriki. Is he still alive?" he asked.

"Yes. Thanks to his Uzumaki bloodline as well as the nine-tails chakra that grants a super enhanced healing speed, he was able to survive losing control of the nine-tailed fox however he is currently unconscious and extremely weak. Even now I have assigned multiple Anbu to watch over him as he rests" Hiruzen answered. Everyone nodded at his words.

"And what about the casualties? How many were there?" questioned Shikaku Nara.

"In the nine-tailed incident there were 110 dead Genin, 30 dead Chunin and 9 dead Jonin. We managed to quickly seal it before things got worse however even so we still lost a few of our shinobi forces. As for the elder home, we have counted 31 missing old shinobi so far."

"A few?!! That's nearly 180 shinobi dead and you call that a few!" shouted Danzo Shimura as he glared at Hiruzen Sarutobi.

"Yes, it is few compared to the large number of forces we lost in the previous nine-tailed fox's rampage" he said much to the agreement of everyone present. Everyone here apart from the young heiress Yakumo Kurama were present on that day in which the nine-tailed fox was let loose on Konoha leading to the deaths of hundreds of shinobi even including a few elite jonin as well. It was truly a terrible and dark night that even now plagued the mind of every adult in the village.
