Chapter Nine

Kei POV

I walked to the canteen. Actually, I'm really lazy to go to the Canteen. I just want to listen to music in class. But Ian said Mr. Simon was waiting for me in the canteen, so I couldn't help but have to go to the canteen. I kept thinking about my father's words last night.

Flash back

I read a book while listening to music, my activities at night. I felt thirsty and saw that my glass was empty. I went downstairs to get some water in the kitchen. Not yet arrive in the kitchen, my father called.

"Kei." call my father. I turned and went to my father who was in the living room. There's already Cavril and George, beta of the Roykolt moon pack.

"Yes?"

"Sit down." my father said. There's a command tone there. I lazily sat on the single sofa. The sofa was U-shaped, one long and two single sofas on either side. My father sat next to me and Cavril next to my father, and George sat on the single sofa next to him.

"Is your school okay?" my father asked. I frowned. I know my dad is making small talk at the moment.

"Of course." I finally answered.

"Have you ever met your mate?" my father asked. I was surprised.

"Why did you suddenly ask that?" I'm confused by the question about mate all of a sudden.

Everyone fell silent and looked at each other.

"Father... What's the matter?" I asked getting confused.

"It's okay Kei, soon you will be seventeen years old. I'm just asking." said my father. From the look on his face I could tell something was up. I know my father very well. He did say it was okay but from the frown on his forehead I could tell he was lying.

"I haven't found my mate dad and I won't be looking for her either, not anytime soon." I said lazy.

I saw my father nod followed by Cavril and George. There was a worried look there. I wanted to ask but in the end I gave up my intention because I was sure my father would not answer honestly. Mother came into the living room with a tray of beer cans.

"i'll go back to my room." I don't want to linger there, especially in a less pleasant atmosphere. I stood up from my chair and walked away.

"Kei." call dad. I stopped walking and turned around. "Is it okay at school? No problem?"

I furrowed my brows hearing dad repeat the question I already answered then then I realized, dad was just afraid I'd turn into a monster again. Who wants that?

"No dad, all is well." I answered.

"If there's something you can tell Simon. You know what? Simon Murphy, your English teacher?" said George.

"Sure, no need to worry." I said then left.

Flashback end

I walked towards the canteen which was at the back of the school while my class was at the front of the school. I passed the teacher's office which happened to be one of the roads leading to the canteen. From a distance I've seen the gorilla there. I snorted in annoyance. Just looking at her I become very upset. I still remember the pain when the gorilla beat me. I shudder. She's not a normal girl. I wanted to turn around but then I saw her talking to one person I know named Mark? Malky? Yes, that's the name if I'm not mistaken. I don't know and I don't care about that guy.

"Matching pair." I muttered.

Then then I saw a girl who I thought was very beautiful. Much prettier than the gorilla of course. She wrapped her arms around Mark? Marky? Malky? Ah, i don't know the name. All I know now is that there's a love triangle scene here. Interesting. But somehow I then feel sorry for the gorilla. She would definitely be rejected outright. Who would choose an ugly gorilla when there is a beautiful princess? If he chose the gorilla, then that boy wasn't normal either. Kai chuckled to himself.

But the longer I watch it seems the situation is getting more and more awkward. But oh what do I care? I turned around, acting unconcerned. But I didn't move my body away, I just stayed where I was standing. Arrgh shit! Why am I so restless? No, no, I can't be like this. I took another step and stopped again. Damn it!!

I walked up and I was behind the gorilla without me realized.

"So you're here." I said. Wow, I have to play this time.

I saw the gorilla's hand being held by Malky or whatever. I don't know why I got annoyed seeing him holding the gorilla's hand. She's not my mate and I don't like her either but I feel annoyed. Ridiculous right?

"Mr Simon is calling you, hurry up. He's in second grade." I lied while keeping my face flat. I saw the gorilla looked confused. I do not care. I immediately turned around and walked away.

I turned around and saw her just standing there. God!! Why isn't she moving?! I turned around and i mmediately asked.

"Do you still want to stay there?" I asked. Oh come on don't make me look stupid.

"Ah right.." she said finally. Thank moon goddess, finally...

Instead of going to second grade, I took her to the cafeteria and I was sure that the chatty gorilla would ask a lot of questions. Ughh noisy, my ears hurt. She stopped asking when she saw Mr. Murphy sitting with her two friends on one of the cafeteria benches, not forgetting Ian because the kid was really sticking with the chatty gorilla's friends.

"You called me sir?" she asked as she sat down on the cafeteria bench.

"No, i'm not." replied Mr. Murphy confused.

"But the bear said... I mean Kei said, you called me."

And I can tell that everyone is looking at me confused. But I'm still me. ignorant, of course.

"I didn't call you Tania, but I called Kei." said Mr. Murphy clearly even though the cafeteria was very noisy. I looked at the gorilla and there was already a frown on her forehead indicating she was confused. She looked straight at me.

"Ohhh... Then I heard wrong. Sorry, my mistake." I said casually and that made the gorilla pursed its lips. She's cute when she pouts like that, I mumbled but I quickly brushed it off. I'd be crazy if I liked her. No, no, no.

Bored. that's what I'm thinking right now. I'm getting bored with everything here. All look the same with the same activity. The difference is that I don't have to meet and deal with that annoying Cayden. I saw Ian walking ahead. He seemed to be seducing one of the gorilla's friends. Is she his mate? Ahhh I don't care. Just let Ian have his fun. Honestly he deserves it after what he did. I'd be lying if I hated him. I actually thought of him as my brother. I don't want him to help me because I don't want him to get hurt because of me.

I turned and entered the forest without Ian noticing. I continued walking through the forest. Yes, it's like in Lykort. Even the smell of the air is the same. I want to turn into a wolf right now, but I have to hold it. I don't want any trouble.

I ran as hard as I could in my human form. I ran aimlessly. I just want to run to relieve my fatigue.

I breathed the fresh air in the forest. Suddenly I inhaled another. Wolf smell. I looked in all directions but I couldn't find it. Then I gasped in surprise when I saw one of the big wolves hiding in the bushes.

"Wh-who are you?" spontaneously I asked. Then I cursed myself for asking. Because I'm revealing myself now.

At first the wolf wanted to stay away from me. I could tell by his gesture that it looked like it was about to turn around. But not because it heard me speak. If an ordinary human would scream or run. But I just stand still and asked who you are, making me reveal that i know that the wolf isn't ordinary wolf.

The wolf howled. I know what a howl is. He called his friends. I got very nervous. Oh Moon Goddess, not anymore! I don't want to be that monster anymore.

Soon the other wolves arrived. The wolves immediately approached me with hateful looks. I'm cornered now that I've been surrounded by wolves.

"W-what do you want?!" I asked.

I only heard their grunts and displeased looks. Then one of the wolves changed his form into a human. A man who looked the same age as Ian. He approached me.

"Who are you? What are you doing here? What's the name of your pack?" he asked.

"I-i.."

Shit! Why am I so nervous like this. I took a deep breath.

"My name is Kei, I live in this city and I don't have a pack." I said firmly. But he looked at me in surprise.

"Living in this city? I never saw you. Don't lie." said the man. I know he won't believe me.

"I'm not lying. I just moved in three weeks ago. My name is Kei Lyroso Laros. I'm the son of Oston Ludwig Laros." I said trying to convince them.

"Sounds like I've heard that name before." muttered one person to my right.

"Are you sure, Jason?" asked the man in front of me.

"Yeah.. I'm not sure." said the name Jason. The man in front of me took a deep breath.

"You have to sure Jason. We don't want to do anything wrong."

"He said he doesn't have a pack, is he a rogue?" asked the man on my left. There were five of them in total and all of them were big and stocky.

"I'm not a rogue." I answered coldly. Everyone looked at me.

"I remember!!" squealed Jason. "There's a family and a small army. You know what? The ones from the Moon Lykort pack. They're friends with our alpha." Jason said enthusiastically.

"So he's one of the members?" asked the man in front of me.

"That... I'm not sure." answered Jason.

"Jake, should we take him to the alpha? If he's a member of Alpha's friends, the alpha must know him." said one of them again.

The person in front of me named Jake fell silent. He seemed to be thinking.

"Not." he said finally. "Don't be alpha. Let's go to the beta first. We don't want to disturb the alpha, do we? If it turns out he's not a member of them, the alpha will be very angry."

"Right, better go to beta first."

They were debating where they were going to take me. This is my chance. They are careless at the moment. I don't want to be taken anywhere by them. Especially if my dad finds out. He would be mad at me, especially at Ian for getting out of control of me. I walked back slowly, away from them. When they didn't notice me, I turned and ran as hard as I could.

I continued to run in my human form. I looked back and I saw that they had noticed my disappearance. I saw them chasing me in their human form. I can still get away from them if they keep chasing me in human form.

My hopes were dashed in an instant when I heard a loud growl behind me. Shit!! They changed! I won't be able to escape like this. I have to change myself too but I will keep running.

I instantly turned myself into a wolf and kept running. I turned quickly to avoid them. They're still chasing me. They're getting closer.

I stopped in my tracks for a moment. I arrived at the cliff. Damn it!! I turned around and the five wolves were already lined up behind me. There's no way out anymore. I panicked.

"Let me go, I beg you. I'm not a rogue."

I speak through my mind and I know they hear me.

"Then why did you run?"

Yes, that's me and my short thought.

"I just don't want any trouble. I beg you. Or you can take me to your alpha or beta. I won't fight back."

I tried to convince them.

"But we don't trust you anymore."

Damn, damn, damn!!! What should I do now?!

"Attack him!"

Oh no!! And sure enough. One of them jumped high and tried to reach me. I dodged quickly. He attacked me again. He stuck his claws into my body. I groaned in pain. Very painful. I walk backwards. He clawed me in my arm. I continued to retreat to the edge of the abyss.

"Please let me go. I don't want anything bad to happen here."

Yes, I don't want to turn into that monster more and more ordinary humans here. Much more than Lykort.

"No!" said Jack.

Jack jumped at me trying to attack me. I jumped to dodge but my feet landed in the wrong place. The cliff I stepped on collapsed. I fell with the crumbling cliff. I continued to roll until I finally reached the bottom of the ravine with my feet crushed by a large rock. I groaned. Very painful.

I tried to get my feet off. But my foot got stuck. Arghhh shit! What should I do? This is so hurt!

I have to change myself. Yes, that's the only way. My foot caught him between two rocks and he had a big rock blocking him on top of it. If I turn myself into a human, my legs will be able to come off.

Suddenly I heard a voice. I smell human! Who? Fuck! I can't change if there's a human!!

Then a head appeared looking at me. I know that face. It's the gorilla girl!!
