"Ready." Daniel nods at his father and receives a thumbs up from the latter.

Positioning his fingers on the piano, Daniel starts.

(The Cinematic Orchestra - To build a Home.)

~♫♪♪~

"There is a house built out of stone

Wooden floors, walls, and window sills

Tables and chairs worn by all of the dust

This is a place where I don't feel alone

This is a place where I feel at home"

--~♫♪♪~--

His fingers move nimbly across the piano, picking up the speed and beat. His eyelids slowly getting heavier, leaving only a slit open to look at the keys.

--~♫♪♪~--

"And I built a home

For you, for me

Until it disappeared

From me, from you

And now, it's time to leave

And turn to dust"

--~♫♪♪~--

His eyes close completely as the music slows down and sound heavier.

--~♫♪♪~--

"Out in the garden where we planted the seeds

There is a tree as old as me

Branches were sewn by the color of green

Ground had arose and passed its knees

By the cracks of his skin I climbed to the top

I climbed the tree to see the world

When the gusts came around to blow me down

Held on as tightly as you held onto me

Held on as tightly as you held onto me"

--~♫♪♪~--

He open's his eyes once more, his eyes moisty and his lips shivering slightly.

--~♫♪♪~--

"And I built a home

For you, for me

Until it disappeared

From me, from you

And now, it's time to leave

And time to die"

~♫♪♪~

He starts coming to a close, pressing one key at a time.

"Haah..." Daniel releases a breath before smiling at his father. "Let's finish this last song and release an album that could rake us in some mulah~." He says with a grin, earning a grin from his father as well.

"Nn." Dad nods, going into extra serious mode.

It's been three weeks since his performance at the club and both he and his father pushed to make the album happen. The album would consist of 9 songs, all of which he had finished recording, well except this last one, but they're almost finished with it.

The theme Daniel chose to roll with was Life, Love and Death. So he chose an upbeat song for his first in the form of Sunflower. But as it goes on, the songs just get more and more 'lonely' and 'sad'.

He already designed the Album cover. a Rough black background, which could be seen as a black painted wall, with red graffiti in the center that spells out; 'IN NEED' boldly, while underneath that, a white sticker could be seen barely falling off with the suicide helpline number on.

The reason why he chose to put the number there was because he knew that people's emotions might get heightened while listening to music, which includes their sadness, so he hoped his music wouldn't drive someone to make the wrong choice.

---

"Let's take a break." Daniel said to his father, standing up from his chair. They were almost done with the last bits of the album, such as making sure the songs flow together in harmony.

"Hm." Dad nods as he too puts down his headset and they exit the studio, both stretching to their heart's content.

*Sniff.*

"Looks like Mah's makin' dinner." Daniel sniffs and locks eyes with his father.

...

*Bam.* Daniel's foot pushes off the floor, giving him a start.

"Oh no you don't." Dad mutters, quickly following after in the narrow hallway. "Tsk." He clicks his tongue. There's no room to maneuver around. "If there's no path..." Dad stretches his leg out, successfully hooking Daniel's ankle with his foot. "Create your own."

*Bam!* Daniel falls down and watches on in sour as his father jumps over his downed form. "Heh." He chuckles. "Nice try..." He rolls on his stomach, pushes his arms beneath him and raises his buttocks, entering a perfect sprint start.

*Whoosh*

Daniel pushes his legs with full force, sending him through the air, his feet suspended behind him. What Daniel wanted to do wasn't a sprint, he knew that his father was too far ahead for him to surpass him, so he did what any other person would.

*Wham!* "Ugh!" Dad Grunts, feeling arms wrap around him before a heavy impact hits his back. They both roll forward a bit, closer to the end of the hallway.

"Victory." Dad hears Daniel speak as he feels his sons arms loosen around him. On pure reaction, Dad swings his left elbow, whilst turning his body, implanting more force into the blow.

*Crack.*

Daniel's head recoils to the side and he clenches his fist from the pain. He pulls his arm back with speed to cover his nose, but he meets resistance... In the form of his father's nose.

*Crack.*

---

"Why did you guys run in the hallway?" Mom asks, carefully placing a band aid on her husbands nose.

"Haha... We were just having fun, but who would've thought there'd be a wet section on the floor?" Daniel says with an awkward chuckle escaping his mouth.

"That's why I always tell you guys to not run inside." Finished with the careful work, Mom stands up and starts her gruesome lecture.

...

"Now get up, wash up and come to the dining table." She shoes them off after an hour long lecture, of which not one of the two men could remember a single word and goes to the table to wait for them.

"Tsk. Foods probably cold." Dad mutters, glaring at his son.

"What are you looking at me for?!" Daniel snaps in a hushed yell. "You're the one that started playing dirty! You delayed us!"

Dad stands up and looks at his son for a few seconds in silence. "Never knew there were rules." He mutters and walks off to the bathroom.

"Rules?! It's common sense, Pah! Think!"

(Two short chapters. My bad, readers. I was caught up working full day shifts at work, so didn't really have time to write, but hey, here's to a slower next week, cause I'm working full days tomorrow and the day after. Cheers?)
