Alexander's icy voice cut through the air like a blade, chilling William Thompson to the bone. "So you are the one," he said, his tone dripping with menace.
Hearing that, William Thompson's knees almost buckled. At the same time, his phone chimed with messages.
As William's trembling fingers fumbled for his phone, his heart pounded in his chest like a drumbeat of dread. With shaking hands, he unlocked the device and opened the messages, only to be met with a sight that made bile rise in his throat.
