A certain future

[Cyan POV]

The year had started on a good note, last year was a roller-coaster to everyone, Clayton and Kaleah mainly. They had the biggest ups and downs, but this year will be different, this year we will have our happy endings.

Well maybe it is because I am getting married in July, but I feel like the tides are turning to our favor, we are going to be the happy ones this year.

"Will that be okay for the budget?" Cain asks, he really is a careful man when it comes to his financials.

"Don't worry grandmother is paying," I reassure him.

I have always dreamed of my wedding, and having a husband to match my dream I am sure my wedding will be as I hoped.

"So how about the art shop? Wouldn't it gather dust if we focus more on the wedding?"

"Don't worry, I have Conan working on that, he has been on a responsible mature streak," I praise, Conan was always the prankster of the family, grandmother was so angry when he dropped out of college out of nowhere.

Leah has not been healing from giving birth to cute Kaiden and still needs to get her groove back when it comes to art, but she has been really happy lately so I trust we will get our artist back.

We are to launch the art shop around May just before my wedding. I cannot wait, for all the greatness the family is up to get.

I finish up with the wedding stiff with Cain to return home, Clayton had decided to take a day off work since Kaiden has been home.

Truthfully, I myself felt a bit hateful towards him when he was still in Kaleah's womb, he was the fruit of all her suffering, but meeting him was a different story, it felt like he was the light at the end of the tunnel.

I found Clayton with Zoey and Kaiden in the playroom, Kaiden was still a very delicate child, but Zoey was really gentle with him, like she knew he was a delicate thing.

"Hello,"

"Cici…." Zoey mutters happily, she has been imitating words said to her, and that is what she came up with as my name.

I wish to have a cute family too, with my cute ginger, "hey."

"Where is Leah?" I ask.

"She wasn't feeling well so I let her sleep it off," Clayton says, he was always considerate, well past the other cold emotions he used to show after mother and father died.

"So, you are on babysitting duties?" I teased.

"It is called parenting Cyan, they are my kids, so why should you call it babysitting," he took me by surprise.

I don't have a clear recollection of my father, but grandmother always told me how he was such a passionate father, he loved spending time with us and wouldn't let people call him spending time with us babysitting.

"You sound like father," I say, I am happy, I had always wondered if he will go past the pain he felt after we lost our parents but seeing him live past that makes me happy.

"Yeah, I just realized recently how much I am like him," he said, "he was such fool for mother."

"Yeah? Well, I am happy he was, because it seems his love and teachings are good to you," I praised, he just smiles happy before giving sleeping Kaiden a soft kiss.

"I am going to put him to bed, take care of Zoey until I come back," he says walking out the playroom.

It didn't take long before May was upon us, Kaleah was now fully healed from her operation and Kaiden was strong enough to travel, the doctors have also told us how his heart is now very stable.

"Congratulations," a guest after the other praises, Clayton was taking care of the kids while, so Kaleah and I get all the attention for our work.

We had invited a few media houses for exclusive interviews and our art was showcased, even a few arts specialists were there.

This takes me back to the time I fell in love with art, a different niche to the subjects everyone in the family was choosing, Clayton was always a business major, and Conan loved computers from the get-go.

I thought they would hate me for choosing to make sculptures but after graduating high school I put my foot down to tell them I will major in art and they just laughed at how I thought they would not support me.

The Becketts always seem like a perfect family, we do have our flaws, but we are a happy family, so I think they are right to call us perfect, because our happiness always takes president over the others approval.

I look over to Kaleah who has sold over twenty copies of her art collection already, selling the limited edition first.

It was a success, our first art exhibit was a success, we made a lot of money, but most importantly we inspired a lot of people.

"Look we are on two front pages," I yell happily.

"The Becketts in art, the new art geniuses of our time," I read aloud, Kaleah groans from her bed, she had overslept probably because of how busy last night was.

"Come on wake up, we are making history here," I yell again.

"Stop waking my wife up," Clayton shouts from Kaiden's room, I roll my eyes.

"Kaleah Beckett wake up and read this article, we just made history, our dreams come true, we are at the cover of Art revival," I say.

As artists we always wanted to be on the cover, though due to my connections I could have been on the cover but being on the cover due to merit feels way better.

"What?" she asked bewildered.

"Remember the old woman you sold the limited edition under the sea painting?"

"Yeah, she was quite insightful when it comes to art," Kaleah says still in her sleep.

"Turns out she is the owner of Art Revival, and she decided to feature our art shop on her magazine," I say happily.

We jump screaming happily, our college dream has been fulfilled, this is a way for a good year to go.

With the crazy preparations and dress shopping it was soon time for my wedding, Clayton promised to walk me down the aisle, but he was the best man, so it had to be grandmother who walks me down the aisle.

I felt happy, even saying my vows felt like an achievement. I was happy, very happy, in my own world with my sweet husband.

After all, said and done I was married, I moved my things to Cain's apartment, oh, I mean my husband's apartment. I loved having to move out of my family home.

It was a good home, I would love to go and visit but my life starts now, with me leaving them for my new home, a home I am to build with Cain.

Soon we left for our honeymoon, Clayton had paid for everything for our honeymoon. My life felt really fulfilled, soon I will be getting a family of my own too.
