Attempting to use new skills

I groggily woke up, feeling the shelter of the roots above me, and feeling the dead carcass beside me. I turned my head with a creak, watching the spider I had killed just the other day. With a yawn, I tried to decide what to do today.

I should probably check my status to see my new skills, and maybe I'd ask Syndria how to do magic so I'm more formidable.

I remembered getting [Acrobatics] I wonder what that does.

As if responding to my question, a description popped up.

I sighed, dissapointed I couldn't throw fire around until 69 days pass. I looked at the dead carcass again, deciding to take my dissapointment out on it. I hopped towards it, then started eating it. It didn't taste so bad, though I would've preferred leaves.

I chewed through the exoskeleton and started eating the abdomen.

I finished the spider, gaining no other skills.

Now I really didn't know what to do. I guessed I would grind on weak stuff, though I shouldn't get cocky because I'm still pretty weak. I heard something ruffle. Activating [Stealth] under the roots, I watched as a giant centipede crawled through the trees and into the clearing.

It was black and red, with weird horns.

I was sure I could take it. Though it had the skill [Evolve] that I didn't know about, I decided to confront it.

As I decided what to do, a silky black web shot towards me. Using [Hop], I jumped out of the way and saw the centipede looking at me. With a screech, it released black flames that I used [Dash] to try and dodge.

The flames missed, and I used my skill [Dash] to close the distance and activated [Bite]. As the centipede screeched, it did its [Rush] move, and I got flung away with a barraged of slices from its mouth.

Without wasting any time, it used [Black Thread Creation] to try and pin me.

With [Acrobatics], I jumped out of the way with a flip. I opened my mouth, releasing my own threads that did stick to it's body. It fell to the ground, squirming and releasing flames every which way.

I used [Acrobatics] with [Hop] with [Dash] while activating [Bite]. I landed on it with immense force, then I bit it, causing it to screech.

The centipede was still alive, although I saw its health was low.

With a desperate attempt, it released black flames that did touch me.

I jumped back, the pain too much for me to shrug off. The flames licked my skin, if I ever survived this, I was sure to be charred.

I remembered what I learned in school: stop, drop, roll.

I did just that, and the flames let up.

'Arghh..'

I rolled on the floor, still in pain as my pink flesh was exposed.

The centipede broke through, hobbled towards me, and opened its mandibles, about to use [Bite].

With great effort, I used [Bite] before it, finally killing the beast with a crunch.

Sadly, that wasn't enough to level me up.

'ARGHH! SYN, HOW TO GET MY HEALTH UP?'

'Easy for you to say!'

The only thing near me was the centipede, so I took a bite and kept eating it and felt the pain lessen. Even my fur was growing back and starting to look like my normal shiny white hide.
