Near midnight, Zev took out the Christmas decorations from the storage area. As soon as Drake flipped the switch, every light in the room illuminated simultaneously. The crowd outside the house erupted in shouts of approval. They look at these stunning holiday light displays that depict fleeing reindeer surrounded by an icy landscape. The ladies were stunned by what they saw.
"Nice!" Cassie said.
Jody just stood there and looked at the Christmas tree lights. The first Christmas she wasn't with her parents. They started buying gifts for street kids and throwing Christmas parties for them. Remembering those memories of her parents made her feel sad. Her parents made this promise when she was young, and she was almost used to it. She wouldn't have known she was crying if Cassy hadn't wiped her tears away. Jody took a quick look at the girl and gave her a tight hug.
"Oh, Jody, don't cry...." Cassy said.
