A Great Way to Start the Day (Part 2)

As I stood there, about to be led into a waiting police car, a male and a female student in the same school uniform as mine approached us.

"Hm? What's happening here, officer?"

The police officer glanced at them, his demeanor unyielding. "It's none of your concern. I suggest you both leave if you don't want to be late."

The two students exchanged a quick, meaningful glance before turning their attention back to me.

"Ohh! It's you! Aren't you the president of the CEO?!" The female student's exclamation caught me off guard.

CEO? What is she talking about?

The police officer glanced at me.

"Yeah! You..." The female student began to approach me slowly, her eyes scrutinizing me. "President! Should we report this to your father?"

I met her gaze, then shifted my attention to the male student beside her. His approving nod was accompanied by a friendly smile as if to say that they had my back.

At that moment, it dawned on me what they were getting at. "A-Ahh! Yeah! Please do!"

"Alright~" The female student quickly dialed some numbers on her phone and pressed it to her ear.

"Please tell my father that, I got handcuffed for doing nothing!"

The police officer glared at me and took a step forward, ready to retort. However, he was interrupted by the rising volume of the girl's conversation.

"Ah! Yes! Right now? Ohh! The police officer's name?" She directed her attention towards the cop, who seemed to squirm under her gaze.

"Ahh, I see... Mr. Nakatsuko-san~" She continued her faux conversation with her phone, relaying information that had the officer's discomfort growing. "His name is Nakatsuko, the last name." She nodded in pretend understanding. "Yes... Oh? You're detaining his family?"

The cop's eyes widened in alarm, "Wait, wait!"

He moved to approach her, but the male student smoothly intercepted him. "Can you not? We're reporting this to his father."

The cop's desperation grew as he stammered, "W-Wait, I'm begging you! I mean! I was just gonna talk to him!"

The female student slowly turned to the police officer, her expression skeptical. "Really?"

"Really!" He then faced me, hurriedly unlocking the handcuffs. "See? We're all good now!"

I sighed, "Thank you very much~"

While it was a crafty way to evade trouble, I couldn't help but feel sorry for the officer caught in the middle of our scheme.

As the handcuffs were finally removed from my wrists, I couldn't help but feel a mix of relief and sympathy for the police officer caught in the middle of our scheme.

The female student turned back to me with a triumphant grin. "All settled, President."

I rubbed my wrists, offering a small smile in return. "Thank you... for your timely intervention."

The male student chuckled. "No problem at all. We were just passing by, and it looked like you could use a hand."

The police officer, clearly flustered, straightened his uniform and cleared his throat. "Well, I... uh... I had no idea you were... affiliated."

The female student raised an eyebrow, her demeanor now more casual. "It's alright, Officer. Just a little misunderstanding, right?"

He nodded, looking both relieved and embarrassed. "Yeah, a misunderstanding. Sorry for the inconvenience."

I offered a nod of understanding, trying to ease the tension. "No hard feelings."

And then he left swiftly going back to his car and driving away.

The male student extended a hand toward me. "I'm Hiroshi, and this is my cousin, Senna."

I shook his hand firmly. "Ryo. Thanks again for stepping in."

Senna winked playfully. "Anytime, Ryo-kun... but why did you get detained by a police officer?"

"Errm.. How do I explain this..."

My mind raced for a suitable explanation that wouldn't involve revealing my parkour antics.

"Wait, First... why did you two save me even though you didn't even know what happened?"

The two exchanged glances, their smirks almost synchronized. "Hmmm, I wonder..." Senna said, her smirk growing wider as Hiroshi mirrored the expression.

My discomfort heightened. These two were clearly more observant than I had anticipated.

"We actually saw you parkouring around the neighborhood," Hiroshi said nonchalantly.

"Yeah, It was pretty awesome!"

So, they had witnessed my rooftop escapade – that was just great.

"W-Wait... Just a question."

"Hm?" The twins' curious gazes remained fixed on me.

"When did you two... start watching me?"

"Ever since you jumped on a second floor and hopped over fences, then we followed your movements from the rooftop as you navigated the heights." Senna's words left me somewhat stunned.

So, all my efforts to keep a low profile had been in vain. These two had been spectating the whole time.

I cleared my throat, trying to regain my composure. "Well, thanks for the assist... and for not reporting my... uh... rooftop endeavors."

"Haha, right... but wait, did we forget something?"

A brief silence enveloped us as we exchanged glances.

"THE SCHOOL!" Our unified exclamation echoed in the air.

Without wasting a moment, we dashed toward the school gate and sprinted up the stairs. However, Hiroshi suddenly came to a halt. "I'm a 3rd-year student in Class 3-B! I'll be off!" He shouted, then continued his sprint.

I turned to Senna, and we shared a nod.

So, she's also a second year, in a different class...

Senna stopped, turning to me with a smile. "My stop's here, Ryo-san." She indicated her classroom, labeled as "Class 2-C". I returned her nod and rushed ahead, reading the sign that indicated my classroom, "Class 2-B".

As I entered stepping into the room, the collective gaze of my classmates fell upon me, and even the teacher seemed to have sighed at my late entrance. "Late again, Sorata. Just take your seat."

I nodded, navigating my way to my desk amid the curious gazes of my classmates.

Then the inevitable barrage of hushed questions commenced. "Is it true that you got detained?"

"Was it something to do with the police?"

Urgk... It appeared I'd need to provide an explanation for the whole incident. The bell finally signaled the end of the class, but before I could relax, the teacher's voice called me out. "Ryo Sorata, please report to the principal's office."

Just as I expected...

With another sigh, I gathered my belongings and made my way to the principal's office.

Standing up, I made my way to the principal's office. Upon entering, my eyes were met by four female students seated with solemn air.

"Didn't your mother teach you how to knock?" The words were sharp as they left the lips of the female student, her gaze a glare that bore into me.

Eh? What's this odd feeling welling up within me...
