When Qin Li picked up the phone, it was a call from Black Egg. He assumed it must be about some news from the Hand association, so he immediately answered.
"Father Li, my people have investigated it. As for what you said, their members aren't afraid of death because they've been brainwashed. They can be resurrected, but we haven't figured out the exact details yet. Also, if their limbs are severed or detached, they die, but those detached limbs won't regenerate when they come back to life."
"I see. Now that you know all of this, you must have their locations as well?" Qin Li asked calmly.
"They're scattered across the country, but one of their leaders happens to be at a location where my agents are stationed. This leader is named Botu," Fury replied.
"One is enough. Tell me the location. When they decided to cross me, they should've known the consequences," Qin Li said coldly.
"The address has already been sent to your phone. When you start your operation, remember to notify my agents. Otherwise, I might be mistaken for a Hand member and killed," Fury added, emphasizing his people.
"No problem. Also, send me your agent's contact information. That's it, I'm heading out tonight," Qin Li said before hanging up. Looking at the address displayed on his phone, which was in Los Angeles, Qin Li rubbed his temples, realizing he wouldn't be getting any sleep tonight.
He walked down to the basement. The screams of Botu grew louder. Qin Li reached the last room and opened the door. He saw Frank pouring the HP restoration potion onto Botu, who had been disemboweled. The potion gradually restored his mutilated body to its original state.
Botu, still muttering incoherently, seemed to have lost his sanity due to the unbearable pain. Qin Li looked at him without a shred of pity. Instead, he turned to Frank and said, "Frank, cut off his limbs, then finish him off. Fury just got intel, and it seems that when they're resurrected without limbs, they don't come back with them. Let's test it. If that doesn't work, we have another backup. We found one of their other members."
Frank nodded and swiftly grabbed the nearby fire axe, efficiently severing Botu's limbs. Then, without hesitation, he shot Botu in the head.
After Frank finished his task and cleaned his hands, he looked at Qin Li and asked, "Do you need me to come with you?"
Qin Li shook his head and replied, "You stay with Nick and Jessica. If he somehow regains his sanity and tries to send more Hand members after us, I'll be more at ease knowing you're here to protect them."
Qin Li thought for a moment. The Hand's members weren't afraid of death, and Frank, being only human, wouldn't be able to handle them all. He would also need to protect Nick. So he decided to go into the warehouse and rummage through his collection, eventually pulling out a set of light armor.
When Frank saw Qin Li summon the armor from seemingly nowhere, he was curious about how it worked. Qin Li explained, "This is something I collected years ago. It's called the Judgement Armor—Divine Vision. Try it on."
Without hesitation, Frank put on the gray and white armor, accented with black. It still had traces of blood from his recent execution, making him look almost like a grim reaper. As Frank felt the power coursing through the armor, he nodded at Qin Li and said, "This feels amazing. With this, I could take on ten versions of my old self—maybe more."
Qin Li couldn't help but frown, surprised that Frank was measuring his power in that way, but he said, "Good. I'm going to Los Angeles to have a 'chat' about compensation with them. You stay with Nick and Jessica. Also, get someone to remodel the church."
"No problem. Just make sure to stab them a couple more times for me," Frank said, pulling out a Gobo knife from his waist and handing it to Qin Li.
Qin Li took the knife and replied, "Don't worry, I'll make sure they remember the terror of this blade."
Qin Li then made his way to the church, calling Tony Stark to arrange for a private jet.
"Mr. Stark is in the middle of an important research phase. Mr. Li, may I ask what you need? I can relay the message to him once he's done," Jarvis' voice came through on the phone.
"Alright, I need to borrow Stark's private jet to fly to Los Angeles," Qin Li said directly.
"Not a problem. Mr. Stark has adjusted your permissions, Mr. Li. You now have access to use Mr. Stark's private jet," Jarvis replied.
"Great, arrange it for me," Qin Li said, a bit surprised.
"Certainly, Mr. Li. A driver will pick you up at your church in half an hour. Is there anything else you need?" Jarvis asked.
"No, just let me know when the car arrives," Qin Li said, flopping onto the couch in a tired manner.
Frank came down from upstairs, holding a bag. Seeing Qin Li still there, he asked, "What's up? No car to the airport? Need me to drive you?"
"No, someone's coming to pick me up in half an hour. I'm flying in Stark's private jet," Qin Li said, lounging lazily on the couch.
"Alright then, I'm heading to the hotel where Nick and the others are staying," Frank said, heading out to his Hummer.
Qin Li didn't wait long. About ten minutes later, the car arrived to pick him up. Qin Li stood up, walked to the shimmering Shenwei, grabbed it, and placed it in his item inventory before heading out to the car.
By the time Qin Li arrived in Los Angeles, it was already noon the next day. He looked up at the bright sun, thinking he should visit Tony Stark first and deal with that Botu character later in the evening. After all, nighttime was perfect for such "business."
As arranged by Jarvis, Happy picked him up at the airport and drove him to Stark's mansion. Qin Li sat in the living room, sipping juice. After a while, Tony Stark, with dark circles under his eyes, emerged from the basement. Upon seeing Qin Li, he said, "Hey, Li, what's up? Coming here to ask for some models? Come on, you can do that at your place."
Qin Li's expression darkened, and he placed his juice on the table. "There's an organization called the Hand that's been causing trouble for me. I came to take down one of their bases. I'm planning to act tonight, but for now, I'm here to kill some time. Judging by how you look, did you stay up all night playing with your toys again?"
"Heh, Li, you need to be clearer. That's the greatest invention of this century, ahead of its time by 10 to 20 years," Tony Stark replied, laughing.
Qin Li waved his hand dismissively. "Yeah, yeah, sure." Now, it was just a matter of waiting for the night to come.
